I am so down! 🙂

Just finished watching... 👍 👍 🤮

Honestly, what a stroke of genius—it's one of those brilliant films that I am absolutely, 100% never going to watch again!

The framing 👍 😁
The Grudge (2004) in Movies ·
So, this movie features the legendary Buffy (you know, the vampire slayer!) and Max from Roswell—honestly, if you’re a teenager or just feeling somewhere near 😁, that alone makes it worth the watch! I caught it in theaters, and while it wasn't exactly my cup of tea, then again, I've never really been a horror fan anyway...
Man, if only I’d scored that raincoat and one more badge!!! Then I could finally be a walking advertisement for VIP!

But honestly, the gear actually came in handy—it was like the rain was listening to me or something! It stayed away perfectly until the moment I hopped off the subway and started that fifteen-minute trek home, and then—bam—it just absolutely poured!

More! Give us more! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More! More!

Everything is starting to sound kind of stale lately, doesn't it? Both Asian Dub Foundation and !!!. 😳

I think I'm gonna go listen to some new Black Lips.
Today was absolutely gorgeous. 😍

Okay, so The Hold Steady got a little old to me pretty fast—just wasn't hitting the same—but Chips Ahoy! and Stuck Between Stations sounded so incredibly good 👍 along with Massive Attack. 🙂
Man, 😲 it was just too good! I showed up right in time for Doll with a Twisted Face, and the crowd was going absolutely wild during Time to Move, then they wrapped things up with All Out Strength. 🙂
The Leto Štuke tracks were actually really interesting; they fit the vibe perfectly, there was this strange, cool atmosphere in the air.
Asian Dub Foundation were 🙂 totally awesome. 🙏 I actually headed out a bit before the end—did they even play anything by Great Britain? I don't think so, right?

!!! 😍 such a bouncy, high-energy vibe, the atmosphere was amazing, and honestly, the sound quality today at the Nokia Theatre was way better than how it sounded yesterday at Life 😢 they didn't even give us an encore 🙂

From Iggy Pop, I only heard Electric Chair and I Wanna Be Your Dog, which felt kind of underwhelming to me—I wandered in between that crazy setup and the left video wall, and most people around me were 40+ just staring at the screens... Iggy sounds like he's 60 years old now.

EDIT: Yo momma..., thanks for the water, I wish I'd seen this sooner, some folks pointed it out to me. I managed to quench my thirst over there after the mosh pit.
http://www.coachellaexperience.com"; said:To all our Coachella VIP Experience guests, we want to apologize for the massive lines at the food and drink voucher booths last night. To make sure today goes much smoother, we’ve bumped up the number of stations from 11 yesterday to 18 today, expanded the actual food stands, and made sure the beverage booth near the Night stage stays open all day long.

I literally just rolled out of bed (I was out cold from 3 AM until 1 PM 😍), but I'll be there soon! Honestly, around 5 PM yesterday, the lines for vouchers weren't even that bad.

I'm trying to listen to The Hold Steady right now, but I've got Schizophrenia stuck on loop in my head... 😬

I actually thought I was running a fever yesterday (I definitely had one the day before!), and I was bracing myself for a rough, sweaty ride—but once I stepped outside, I realized it wasn't me, it was just insanely hot out there! Please, please tell me it isn't going to rain today!!! Today's strategy: backpack on, tiny umbrella tucked inside, and plenty of water smuggling 🙂

Does anyone happen to know how Iggy Pop usually wraps up his sets?
Alright, it could have been better, honestly.
To be fair, Sonic Youth sounded pretty rough to me—but hey, that whole balloon scene was a blast!

The absolute highlights were definitely Schizophrenia, their new tracks (the second song was Incinerate, then Reena, followed by Do you believe in Rapture, What a Waste, Jams Run Free, and Pink Steam), plus 100%! Oh, and they played Kool Thing too. 🙏

Everyone just sat through TBF—Rose was kind of a letdown for me, but the Happy Mondays were such a vibe! That guy jumping all over the stage is seriously adorable. 😬 🙂
My Friend mentioned that the Blue Jays are cute, though I didn't catch them.
I caught part of the Colored set, which was okay, but I missed the New York Dolls—they were playing Trash. 🙂
Luckily, I didn't even hear them, even though the stages are way too close together.

The trash cans are just your typical Central Park ones. 😕
Anyway, I totally agree—those wristbands are a disaster! They told me mine was bad (it's sticking out huge, just like everyone else's), and now it’s actually itchy. I wonder what silentgull13 is going to tell us at the meeting tomorrow? I really hope so. And that voucher system is just terrible... I'm crossing my fingers that today's ones still work for tomorrow.

Thurston is such an icon. Kim is so quiet (well, I won't say she's too loud!).
I’ve got a bad feeling about this one—honestly, it feels almost too good to be true! 🙂

My apologies there. 😳 😳 😳

hollowseal33 said:Basically, it makes zero sense to have bands that have been teased as headliners for ages playing at the exact same time—especially when there's plenty of mid-tier acts they could be paired with instead!

I totally hear you, but look—the first big names they dropped were Nirvana, The Stooges, and TBA.

Honestly though, don't you think we'd be just as annoyed about the Day 1 schedule even if Nirvana and The Stooges hadn't been the very first ones announced? It feels like a bit of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, right?
el Rodeo said:What an absolute load of bullshit... 😠

I am totally with you on this—scheduling SY right on top of New Year's Eve is just asking for trouble...
Has anyone grabbed their tickets through the Verizon option yet? I'm wondering—do you think it actually works if you score them through a buddy? Like, are they really going to be checking IDs or matching names at the gate, or can we just slide right in? Surely they won't be that strict, right?
Jack would much rather catch an FBI show. They've got a gig coming up on August 25th somewhere in the USA... 🙂 My biggest fear is that the new album is going to be a total dud. 🙂 But honestly? I’d still kill to see them live.

Mr. Wrong, I'm sure you're aware that both of those bands are hitting Lollapalooza...

Alright, everyone, stop being so dramatic! Sonic Youth
No way, I just sat down for a quiet dinner and flipped on the teletext—which is basically my go-to since there’s nothing actually on TV anyway—and I see it right there in the headlines on ABC: Sonic Youth is coming to New York City! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA aaaa
😍
Then I check channel 141 and it says the New York Dolls are playing too

😍 😍

I honestly always assume the New York Dolls are dead or retired.

Man, this lineup is absolutely perfect. This summer is going to be insane. We've got DT, then Air, then Sonic Youth and the New York Dolls, and then Tool? Just wow. 😍 😍
Man, I am absolutely wiped out—I’m totally zonked! And honestly, I don't even know anyone anymore... why does it feel like every single day is just some random birthday celebration lately? 😬

Seriously though, let me know how everything went!

And hey, I have to admit, this whole Daft Punk thing had me feeling pretty confused too
Wait a second... I see how these dates are overlapping with other gigs... But here we have The Doors and The Dead Kennedys clashing, right? 🤔

I'll definitely try to make it to something! I really need to track down someone regarding 😬

I’d much rather hit up The Dead Kennedys—I actually haven't listened to The Doors yet 😳—and man, I'm seriously bummed I missed Daft Punk when they played during that South Carolina run four months ago...

Anonymous said:if only you Americans just wanted YOUR OWN country... but you didn't—and please, don't try to run away from that truth!!!

Look, sure, some people who actually held the reins back then were definitely like that. But that doesn't mean everyone was—not even if a huge chunk of them thought that way (though I’d bet a good portion did, and maybe most just went along with it because that's what seemed "normal" at the time). It’s totally unfair to point fingers at any American using the excuse of "that's just typical for you Americans." And honestly? It's also pretty silly how often people here claim certain athletes aren't "ours"—it’s something I see all the time on this forum! If an athlete plays for a specific national team, then they are that country's athlete. Period.

Huge props to our water polo team! They absolutely crushed it—they were up by five goals at one point! 🙏 🙏
I am genuinely thrilled they took down the Americans, especially since those guys have been such a powerhouse lately.

A new Fiona Apple album? 😍 You forgot to actually mention the title! 😁

Let me drop a few thoughts here (and no, I didn't 😬 ) regarding an album most of you probably already heard back before 2007. (Someone even tucked it into a list of the best of 2006 😬 ) but hey, might as well bring it up here too.

The Shins, Wincing The Night Away, Sub Pop
image
Indie/jangle pop/rock, lo-fi, pure bliss 😬

Honestly, The Shins' third record feels a bit weaker than their first two. It doesn't quite capture that brilliant atmosphere of the debut or the sheer energy of the second one—but hey, it's definitely not a bad listen! It isn't exactly a "love at first listen" kind of thing, except maybe for "Australia" and "Black Wave." The opening track, "Sleeping Lessons," does a great job of setting the stage for what's coming. It’s just this smooth, easygoing music paired with really smart lyrics—perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. They definitely played around with the sound a bit, so the album feels pretty diverse...
And yeah, it's a bit longer than the previous two.

Check out their live performance of "Jab" 🙂

Edit: Talk about bad luck! Just as I hit send, my browser completely crashed on me. 😍 And ugh, I ended up uploading a smaller image than I intended.

Amy Lee18 said:She’s totally full of it—that anthem is basically legendary on the high-end forums. Honestly, those drunkards have completely ruined the song for me.

Hmm. I actually know a few folks who ended up at Coachella, and they're absolute legends who still love that track! They're true connoisseurs—well, maybe just heavy drinkers—😁, but definitely not those low-lifes.
I think you might be the one with the issue here. 😛 It just feels so silly to me when someone claims a song is "ruined" just because it became popular.

Yeah, Evelina and the ER crew were absolutely top-tier. 🙂
Mance in Music ·
So, who exactly is Mance...

Look, there’s definitely something going on here. But honestly? You’ll only truly "get" him once you actually sit down and listen. And if you never plan on listening... well, then it’ll be crystal clear why!

It was alright, I guess—even though the crowd was totally hyped up! They were laughing at basically every other word, which honestly just seemed to kill the vibe for the performer, who already looked pretty checked out to begin with...
Actually, because the energy in the room was so high, my friend and I ended up having a great time since we just leaned into it. 😬 The guy kept stepping off the stage—like, five different times!—only to come right back on. At one point, he even admitted he couldn't remember the rest of his set, which is hilarious, considering he seemed perfectly fine with everything he had already played. 😬 It was a little bummer when he performed Shanghai without a single "Everybody knows a SHAN, everybody knows a GAJ" thrown in 😬 but hey, it happens. He did throw in a few homages (to Lou Reed and a couple of others), though. His guitar setup wasn't quite hitting the mark either; he spent a good chunk of time tuning away as if we were all sitting there waiting on it. 😬
