What I actually want to know is—are these colors normal for this stage? 😬

Honestly, I wouldn't even know how to tell you—I’ve never been under the knife myself! 🙂

You're laughing way too much! 😬
OB/GYN at a local hospital is HIV-positive in Health ·
Hannah Scott69 said:As for HIV... honestly, NOBODY should care what a doctor does in his private life. He could have four mistresses, four yachts, HIV, Hepatitis—who cares? What he chooses to do in his off-hours is absolutely nobody's business. It doesn't matter what illnesses he might be dealing with either.

If he can pass it on to me, then I have a massive problem!
I couldn't care less if he owns a yacht or has a mistress—those things don't pose a threat to my wellbeing. But a contagious disease? That is a direct threat to me, even if the mathematical probability of catching it is a measly 0.000005 %.

why are you being such a jerk about this all the time?

I guess she's positive too.

Oh, absolutely—New York City looks just stunning in that movie! 😬

The film itself is simply wonderful—so much so that I actually went out and bought the DVD! And let me tell you, my collection isn't exactly huge, so that’s saying something.
HPV vaccine discussion in Women's Health ·
Here is another (hopefully!) on-topic contribution to the thread. 🥳
I happened to be listening to Expertise on NPR earlier today when they were discussing HPV—it was quite an interesting segment! From what I gathered, even if you manage to clear one strain, it doesn't mean you're suddenly immune to other strains. 👎 A vaccine would essentially need to "cover" every single possible strain out there, which, as far as I can tell, is practically impossible.
Now, don't get me wrong—I am all for more research! 😬 But eventually, for this to be practical for everyone, a vaccine will have to become more affordable.

Do I deserve a beer for that thought?
Lower back pain / pinched nerve? in Health ·
Kate Hernandez said:nimbledriver81: how did they release you from that pinch? was it painful? can you give us the name of that doctor?

Unfortunately, my doctor is actually based in Germany—so I had to travel quite a bit! Anyway, I went in for the exam and walked them through everything—exactly where the pain hits and when it flares up (honestly, I couldn't sit, stand, lie down, or even walk for more than ten minutes without issues). So, I lay down on the exam table, and it’s the usual routine: "Does this hurt? How about here? Now turn onto your hip"—and then, *pop*, just like that, it's done! 🙂 The only thing I felt afterward was a bit of tension in the muscle right above the area—but the doctor warned me about that beforehand—it wasn't really "pain," just a sensation of the muscle being a little tight. After about two hours, everything felt perfectly fine again. Plus, he even used a 3D skeletal model to show me exactly what had been pinched!

Hang in there!

Honestly? I would actually suggest she see a chiropractor! I dealt with the exact same thing myself. I actually tweaked my back during a big move—total nightmare—and I was in constant agony for nearly three weeks straight until someone finally gave me the address of a specialist. In two minutes I was basically "reset," if you know what I mean. After that, I haven't had a single issue since!
Sophia Parker4 said:Can anyone tell me—hypothetically speaking, of course—if someone were to eat, say, just a tiny little snack for breakfast and then essentially nothing else all day, maybe just a cup of coffee or some cocoa in the evening without doing any exercise, how much weight could they realistically lose in a week?

You’ll most likely see zero results—and honestly, you might even end up heavier—because your metabolism will basically go into hibernation mode! It’s like trying to run a car on a single teaspoon of gasoline; eventually, the whole engine just stalls out. You’re going to throw your body's entire internal rhythm completely out of whack.
It is actually a well-documented phenomenon that there are people out there living on a mere 500 calories a day—basically starving themselves—and yet they still can't drop a single pound.

Well—when you refuse to take my advice, you get to sit there and sweat through your shirt! :Praviseuvrijeđena: 😁
Honestly, if you’re feeling healthy and your energy levels are where they should be—really hitting your stride—then why on earth should you care about what some random person on the street thinks?
It's like when people criticize a classic movie; if you enjoyed it and it moved you, their opinion is just noise!
Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
electrictinker18 said:A physical therapist over at ExxonMobil once mentioned to me that people dealing with psoriasis don't have to worry about cancer.
I mean, who knows if there's actual scientific truth to that—it's hard to say!—but man, it sure feels good to hear that you might be spared from something like that when you're struggling with skin issues.

But then again, in the really severe cases, they end up using chemotherapy anyway. 😢 So, yeah... that's not exactly the comforting news we were looking for...

Jamie Clark74 said:So, you’re telling me that at 37 years old—after everything I've been through and two surgeries later—I still don't have a clue what's happening?
If you hadn't done anything at all in your case, maybe it would have just resolved itself... you know, like the body just naturally heals its own way.

Look, you guys don't actually understand MY specific situation—that's what I meant! And as for the idea that a pinched nerve just magically fixes itself? Please—you might as well tell me pigs can fly. For three whole weeks, I couldn't sit, I couldn't walk, I couldn't even lie down comfortably. It was absolute misery.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, though.

Rachel Brooks63, just hang up the apron and close shop already. 😉 😉

Jamie Clark74, with all due respect—and please don't take this the wrong way—maybe let’s not lecture others on subjects we haven't lived through! First off, my own experience with a pinched nerve was strictly physical—you know, from helping with a move and lugging around those massive, heavy boxes—and honestly? That was fixed in just one single treatment. Second—and this is where I feel I have some ground to stand on—I actually know a thing or two about nutrition, given that it's literally my profession. At the end of the day, if someone isn't open to receiving help, then there's absolutely nothing anyone can do for them... even if I am living proof of what works!

Forgive me, but I just couldn't help myself—I had to chime in!
The whole idea actually scares me a little bit...

It isn't actually for me, though—it's for my mom. 😬
I remember visiting a chiropractor over in Germany once—honestly, he popped my spine back into place just like that! I felt like a completely new person afterward. 🤣

But seriously, if anyone has a solid recommendation, please let me know—I'm taking notes (my wife refuses to go on a diet, so her joints are really starting to pay the price...)

My search engine is being absolutely useless today—it’s giving me zero helpful hits! I am desperately trying to track down the address for a reliable chiropractor around here, if anyone happens to have a recommendation handy. I definitely can't do John Adams, though—that just won't work for me. 😬
Thanks a bunch! 😁

Sandra King86 said:What really gets under my skin—and honestly, makes me a bit salty—is how fans of that kind of music just refuse to accept that there are people like me who simply don't appreciate the genre.
And why do I suddenly need to be lectured on how this music is actually "valuable" or "deep"? Just enjoy it! It’s fine if it’s not my cup of tea, thanks. This whole attitude where people feel the need to "enlighten" the masses about trashy pop-country is just plain obnoxious.

Look, I’m not going around trying to convince anyone that traditional tribal drumming from some remote village is the pinnacle of musical genius, am I?

There is a massive distinction between genuine folk music and cheap, commercialized radio hits. We are talking about the latter here—that's the crux of what people are trying to tell you.
You can critique something without being a fan of it. But I suppose that concept might be a bit too nuanced for your pea-sized brain to grasp.
