George Alvarez3 said:This movie actually had the potential to be a masterpiece. 😢 Honestly, they should have cast Madsen as Payne instead of Wahlberg. Now, look—I get it, they went with Wahlberg. Fine. But at the very least, he could have channeled some of that Payne energy!

Look, Madsen is well over 50 and weighing in at over 200 pounds—plus, let’s be real, his performances haven't been anything special since Million Dollar Baby. It isn't Wahlberg's fault that the script is absolute garbage, or that the director is essentially just a Michael Bay rip-off.

Honestly? I was expecting way more from Cameron—it just felt like a massive display of visual effects without much substance behind them.

Actually, no—the plot takes place after the first one.

It looks like they’re just completely brushing off the second half!

I’m out here hunting for the ultimate Oscar winner—the greatest movie ever made!☕
David Price5 said:It looks like a lot of you really can't stand Uwe Boll. I'm curious, how many of his movies has everyone here actually sat through?

Look, Boll is a total legend.☕ If I’m talking trash about him, it’s honestly just because everyone else is doing it lately—it's practically a trend!☕
That new movie of his—you know, the one where the guy makes a suit out of Kevlar?—looks pretty rough. But even so, his entire filmography (including Alone in the Dark) is easily ten times better than all the garbage Michael Gay has churned out this century.

Changing the subject slightly (just so I don't get flagged by the mods)—McG is basically Boba, and Cohen is a complete joke. I really don't expect anything from this upcoming film because, in my book, those two are some of the worst directors in the history of Hollywood. And I mean that seriously—they aren't even as bad as Ed Wood! Now, Ed Wood might not have known how to make a "good" movie, but at least his films were so hilariously bad they became cult classics. These guys? They just make such terrible, boring junk that it isn't even funny.☕
Wow, Rob Cohen and McG🙏
Honestly, I’d much rather have Uwe Boll move to America and shoot a new Bloodrayne every single day.
Hey there, analogskipper7! I can't say I've watched a ton of films featuring high-brow, literary American English—it’s a bit of a niche category, isn't it?—but if you're looking for some quality picks, I’d definitely suggest these:
The Falcon, How to Start a War on My Island, When Dead Sing, Caruga, Mecava, Long Dark Night (both the series and the movie), and even some classic WWII epics like the Battle of Neretva and Sutjeska.

Absolutely legendary!

The direction is solid and the acting isn't half bad—plus, there’s plenty of action—but honestly, nothing can save this movie from a script that feels like it was scribbled by a squirrel on caffeine.☕

Samuel Smith5 said:Listen, give Vrdoljak 200 million bucks and he'd probably turn out a better movie. And you could probably cast George Clooney as Optimus Prime.😁

Seriously! They’d probably throw in John Travolta as a Greyhound that’s somehow stuck and can't transform, Morgan Freeman as a Volkswagen Beetle cruising in from the rough outskirts of Canada, and then maybe have a Bitorajac zip through the scene like a sleek smart convertible—now *that* would be an action movie.

Samuel Smith5 said:I mean, calling Transformers one of the greatest action movies ever made... that’s not even about having different tastes anymore. Putting Bay in the same sentence as "the best" is like putting Hitler in the same sentence as humanity.

It's true—Transformers doesn't even crack the top 100 action flicks. But if you ask me, Spielberg deserves just as much credit for Transformers as Bruckheimer does for most of Bay's other hits. I remember hearing Bruckheimer once mention he'd never even heard of George Clooney or the FBI—what an absolute jerk.

Samuel Smith5 said:I guess you haven't seen much actual action then.

Nah, he just has a different taste—for instance, he thinks AvPR is way better than Starship Troopers, which is probably a hot take nobody actually agrees with, but hey, that's his prerogative.

And while we're on the subject of massive budgets—*Bad Boys* actually only cost about $20 million, yet it turned out to be much more than just "good."

Why is everyone being so unnecessarily critical? I mean, look—he isn't out there churning out remakes of existing classics, but in my opinion, his movies are actually decent enough to watch. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around how anyone could claim that Bad Boys isn't a good film.☕

Sarah Lopez6 said:Yeah, the guy’s got serious charisma, even if I can't quite put my finger on why... and his co-star? Absolutely stunning. Honestly, if they’d just leaned into the brutality a bit more—made him feel like a legitimate, cold-blooded killer instead of this polished, somewhat "normal" hitman type—the movie would've been legendary.

Does the movie get pretty bloody?

It's actually good. Honestly, I might even go as far as saying it’s the best adaptation of a game out there right now.
Doesn't look cheap at all, the lead is killer, and the plot holds up—it's like Jason Bourne, except instead of being some soft pushover, he actually knows how to handle himself.🙏

My one gripe is that it feels a bit too talky. I mean, whatever, inevitable since we're following the main guy, but my real issue is how they did the whole female character thing. It's such a tired action movie trope... even she basically admitted there was zero reason to keep her alive...
I mean, just let him finish the job already. It felt so awkward. If he had just professionally taken her out at the end, the movie would've been freaking amazing... but nope, everything just leans into those same old clichés...
Still, the movie is pretty damn solid.👍

Well, you’ve certainly brightened my day! I was actually bracing myself for a total disaster—I was genuinely worried this movie was going to be complete garbage.
