rowdymarlin3 said:Is there any way to add a poll to a thread I already started?

Yeah, you can.
Go to the very first post of your thread (the one that starts everything). You'll see an "Edit" button there. Once you click that and the editing window pops up, just look toward the bottom under the advanced settings—you'll find the option to set up a poll right there.

Just a heads-up though: if the edit button isn't showing up for you, you'll have to reach out to the subforum Moderator and ask them to add it manually.🙂
(Usually, after about an hour or so, the system locks the ability to edit posts yourself.)

Beetlejuice (1988) in Movies ·
Tim Burton is just brilliant.
And honestly, Bubimir is one of my absolute favorite movies. I could probably watch it on repeat forever and never get bored of it.
Michael Keaton has such an incredible filmography, and that specific role fits him like a glove.

This happens to other people from time to time too. I don't know the exact reason, but it’s definitely a thing that occurs.
Maybe try sending a DM to one of the Moderators; they might be able to give you some clarity.

How many posts are you missing?
It’s possible some chat thread got nuked, which would explain why your count is off.
Honestly, it happens to everyone from time to time.

goldenhound32 said:When you’re dealing with a film that blends multiple genres, it’s common for one to dominate while the others just feel like afterthoughts. That’s exactly what happens with Breaking the Waves; the dramatic weight completely overwhelms any sense of romance. In fact, those specific moments that lead people to tag this as a "romance" on IMDb aren't even the kind of romance we’ve been conditioned to expect from cinema. If you want the full picture, you really have to sit down and watch the film itself. 🙂

It is my small pleasure to provide information to someone who will actually appreciate the insight. There is a certain quiet satisfaction in being part of a forum where one can learn from others, or perhaps even teach a thing or two along the way. 👍

I don't buy that argument at all.
It's like when a movie is marketed as a horror, but by the time the credits roll, there wasn't a single scary moment in the whole thing. It feels like every other week there's some flick that completely misrepresents its own genre.

northernangler17 said:Ugh, I wouldn't call that movie a "romantic drama" under any circumstances. Sure, it's a drama, but that word "romantic" just feels wrong to me. Honestly, watching it was pretty brutal. The whole atmosphere is just suffocating, and the story is so heavy... all you're left with after the credits roll is this intense sense of anxiety and pure discomfort.

Well, that depends on who you ask.🙂 I don't really watch much drama, to be honest, so I find it a little tough to give an actual critique.
It doesn't look half bad to me, though if you check the IMDb page, they’ve got it categorized as a romantic drama. I guess whether it actually feels romantic or not really comes down to your own perspective—it’s one of those things where everyone sees it differently depending on how they watch it.🙂

I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet, but it looks decent enough for a standard romantic drama.🙂

His stomach is basically the only selfish part of him. 😁

The only thing that could actually pull his mind away from eating is a brutal fight.
He’s always down for that.😁

Honestly, you've probably got a point there.
I've definitely noticed a few mods who managed to snag their status after being registered on the site for barely a month or two.

you just have to stay on good terms with the other mods. 🙂

I wouldn't put it quite like that.
Even if you're tight with some of the moderators, they still have to officially recommend you for the specific subreddit role, and then the admins make the final call on whether that user actually gets the moderator badge or not.

redmarlin3 said:Look, the only way you’d have 5K posts is if you were grinding them out in some private chatroom. Generally, threads don't just vanish into thin air unless they're pure spam or totally useless.

No. I definitely didn't rack up 5K posts in chatrooms. If I had, I'm pretty sure my post count would be dropping by like 400 to 800 every single time I checked.
I also remember hearing from a head moderator once about how certain subforums handle those kinds of threads, but that was more of an off-topic conversation (the kind of stuff that doesn't count toward your total).
I'm assuming it's something like the moderator corner PDF or whatever.

redmarlin3 said:Listen, trying to hunt through every single subforum looking for that tiny little arrow icon is unreliable and just exhausting.
What if you miss an arrow?
What if you forget about a specific subforum where you actually posted?
And don't even get me started on how much time it takes to scroll through that many pages.

You save yourself hours of work just by clicking on "subscribe topic."😉
Plus there's that "Who joined" option too.

Well... it isn't really that unreliable or taxing.
It just comes down to whether or not you actually have the patience for it, nothing more.
Besides, that subscribe topic feature hasn't done anything for me.
My list just shows "subscribed topics(0)."
I think you can also use the search function when you're looking at someone's profile; it should pull up all their threads and posts.
(I haven't actually tried it, but I'm guessing that works too.)

redmarlin3 said:God, what a total mess. 🤣

Huh?
What kind of mess?
Because that’s exactly what a few moderators told me.
And now... I don't know if I'm losing my mind or what...
The third option would be getting screwed over by some mods later on.

redmarlin3 said:🙂 You've already shown enough ignorance in this thread, and now you're adding this to the mix. 😁

I would have come by sooner if I had actually seen the thread.

Look, irontiger29; you have fewer than 2,000 posts, so you probably don't have a massive amount of subscribed topics.

Go to the bottom of the screen to the window containing the subforum names and scroll all the way to the top until you hit "subscribe topic".
Those are all the threads you've participated in. When you open that option, it'll show the thread title in one column and the number of posts in the next; click that number and the "Who has posted" window will open. Find yourself there and click the number next to your username, and it'll pull up every single one of your posts in that thread.
That method isn't quite as fast as using the automated search tool which only shows 300 posts at a time, but it's the most effective way if you don't want to filter by things like subforum or post date.

''Enough ignorance''? :confused.
He was just looking for his old posts. I told him he could only see 15 pages through his profile. (15x20=300 posts)
My other suggestion was for him to go through the PDFs and manually scan the threads he's joined.
I just phrased it a bit differently.
The only thing I didn't mention was that "Who has posted" option.
Am I really that wrong?
Question - Archive in Forum Help! ·
Is there any theoretical chance you’ll get some mercy from the moderator? - honestly, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Question - Archive in Forum Help! ·
I’m skeptical about that.
The only way you might find anything is if you're digging through those old PDFs you contributed to or hunting down archived threads.
Trying to pull it all together just by looking at a profile? Yeah, that’s going to get you absolutely nothing.
