Lawrence Ramirez3 said:Perhaps you should head to the coast a bit earlier if you want to prep your skin for the sun. Olive oil has been used as a light sunscreen since ancient times. Still, I worry anyone with fair skin might end up with a nasty burn if they just slather on olive oil without any prior preparation.

I always make sure to hit the coast before noon👍

At the beach twice a day—once around 9 to 11 AM and again in the late afternoon near 5 PM. It’s just not worth the risk being out there at 1 PM... I can't stay under the sun much longer than two hours a day anyway...

Lawrence Ramirez3 said:I pick up some extra virgin olive oil at the store—ideally Greek if I can find it—and apply it liberally before heading out into the sun. It seems to help quite a bit with my psoriasis plaques.

thanks for the tip🙂

I do that occasionally when I'm down at the coast, though I'm cautious about doing it daily since my skin is quite fair...

Well, I certainly get where you're coming from...😍 🙏

I use olive oil for skincare, but when it comes to food, it's pumpkin seed oil all the way. Drizzled over greens or beans... quite delicious...

I agree that your reasoning makes sense. It’s common knowledge that St. John's Wort oil is phototoxic when exposed to sunlight... so logically, one might assume the same applies while it's still in the bottle.

And yet, 99% of people apply it right before heading out into the sun.

Robert Clark2, how do you typically prepare your own St. John's Wort...?

Casey Miller9 said:It’s the same situation out here on my farm; I have about 250 olive trees, and underneath them, there’s enough calendula to make your head spin. I don't use any pesticides or harsh chemicals, so everything stays strictly organic. I was wondering, though, how do you actually make the calendula oil? My method is to gather a jar of flowers along with a little bit of foliage, submerge them in olive oil, and let it sit in the sun for about 45 days before straining it into a dark glass bottle. Am I doing something wrong? Someone mentioned once that leaving it in the sun isn't ideal, but I disagree—that's just how my grandmother taught me to do it.

I've heard that too, although most people seem to leave theirs in the sun anyway.

I was also curious if anyone could explain the process for making cold-pressed oils...

Casey Miller9 said:Don't let it get to you, Chris Morgan67; stress isn't good for psoriasis. But honestly, kudos to you for using oil after showering—it really helps soothe things and seems to rejuvenate the skin, even healthy skin. I have some homemade St. John's Wort oil (we have plenty of this around here in the South), and it works wonders. If you don't have any, I have a little extra I can send your way, and Robert Clark2 as well, absolutely no charge. Best regards.

I appreciate the concern.😘
I'm not actually worked up; people just tend to perceive me that way...😬

I'm truly glad the oil is working for you. It was a lifesaver for me and does incredible work regenerating the skin.👍
Thank you so much for the offer, but I have enough on hand for now—mostly homemade, though I pick up some from Whole Foods occasionally.

The reactions from this supposedly "cured" gentleman are truly bizarre.

A bit of advice—try to cool it with the hostility and stop attacking anyone asking reasonable questions. No one here has had their psoriasis completely cleared up thanks to your ointment, so please, stop spreading misinformation.

And yes, if you had actually put pure hormones in that cream, the psoriasis would have vanished, so you're wrong on that front too.

I suppose you won't dare accuse me of being aggressive, since apparently expressing an opinion is considered a hostile act these days... where is the world heading...🙄

Mark Fox44 said:God, Chris Morgan67! It’s pretty quiet in here today. I know Daivonex is essentially the same as Psorcutan, though I’ve been using the Daivonex cream rather than the ointment, and this is my first summer on this stuff. By the way, I ordered the Psorcutan ointment since it's cheaper and lasts longer. I'm not sure if it can be used under occlusion—does that boost the effect or just the reactions?
Where is everyone else? What happened to Oct and the rest of the ointment crew? And what about that ivy therapy... has anyone actually tried letting fish nibble at it yet? Come on, people, talk to me. It's brutal outside; get back to your computers...

My doctor recommended the Psorcutan ointment over the cream too. It absorbs better and saves money...😬

You can use it under occlusion to enhance the effect. I do it once a week...

Mark Fox44 said:Has anyone used Psorcutan during the summer? Between swimming and tanning, I'm curious... God!

Psorcutan is just another name for Daivonex; they both contain calcipotriol.

You can use it through the summer, you just need to rinse it off in the morning before you head out into the sun...

Casey Miller9 said:Not yet, we need to wait until there is significant redness and scaling before... you see how it starts, with tiny little bumps that look like pimples, and if they take hold, the entire area turns red for a few days before receding, only to start all over again. It isn't easy being wise...😕

A biopsy should probably be used to confirm things, along with some kind of blood work—maybe an HLA test or something like that...

My psoriasis started out as guttate—just tiny little red spots—but after about a year, it transitioned into the vulgaris type...

That doesn't necessarily mean your son has psoriasis. It might be best to wait for the biopsy results, or if you can manage it, perhaps seek a consultation at a specialized hospital in Chicago...

Casey Miller9 said:It isn't just flakes; it's actually the sunlight reflecting off them, though scaling is definitely a symptom of this dermatitis too.

Hi there.
Looking at the photos, I honestly can't tell if it's one or the other...
Has the little one had a biopsy done yet?

urbanbadger53 said:Chris Morgan67, I honestly don't get you. If you don't like it, or if you just refuse to believe this balm actually works, then there's no need to attack the man. Nobody is forcing you to buy his product; he simply came here, shared what he offers, told his story, and that's it.
If you think he's lying, fine, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but attacking him personally is uncalled for.
It feels like you're just venting your own anger and frustration at him. If it's so difficult for you to accept or believe what he's saying, then perhaps it's best not to read his posts at all. For some time now, the conversation here has revolved around this balm; several people have even tried it and shared positive feedback, which is why I feel Michael Ramos3 doesn't deserve to be mocked and interrogated like this.
Either you believe him or you don't; there isn't much middle ground.
Best,

I’m entitled to my opinion just as much as you are.😉

And since this is a public forum, I have every right to comment on any statement made...😉

@Michael Ramos3/">@@Michael Ramos3 why the silence?

I am simply curious about how your father reached that particular discovery... I know you have shared details about it here before, but I cannot seem to recall which page it was on...

silentheron25 said:This is just leading to more arguments between the skeptics and those of us who actually believe help is possible. If you don't believe me now, then you shouldn't believe anyone—not even when my experience works for me and others... you'll just be waiting for some massive pharmaceutical company to finally find a total cure, or you can just accept this mess and stop trying altogether. I’m turning 25 today, which means I’ve dealt with this nonsense for nearly 20 years, with a few breaks here and there. Believe me, "just accepting it" isn't an option; this is a specific kind of misery that suffocates a person, and it’s even worse for someone who's only been dealing with it for 15 or 18 years. Honestly, I don't care what the ingredients are, as long as it works. And for you eternal skeptics, even if someone actually found a cure, you'd probably still have doubts and questions...

No one is arguing here.

I've accepted my situation, but that doesn't mean I've given up.

You know, people are different; some are stronger than others.

It's not that I don't care about the balm's ingredients, I'm just curious...

Michael Ramos3 said:Fine, I will post the balm's ingredients...
But I have to ask again, how will you know if I'm being honest? A chemical analysis can only identify the synthetic components; it won't be able to verify which specific herbs I'm blending into it...

Well, I wouldn't know🙂
I am just curious about the recipe because I know quite a bit about herbalism and how different plants interact...

Furthermore, I'm wondering how your father actually came across this formula? Was it just a lucky find, or did he spend years experimenting with various botanicals?...

Michael Ramos3 said:Are you all subjecting this to any kind of independent analysis? What about honey? Or that herbalist from Bihać? Did everyone actually know what was in Vipsogal from the start?
That kind of skepticism is endless (just like unrealistic optimism)...

Just define what it would take to convince you that this works.
In my view, you should just try it and judge based on your own experience...

Once again, I apologize if anyone thought I was being angry.

With faith in God...

I only drink teas when I am 100% certain of the ingredients, usually sourced from trusted close contacts or established manufacturers. It’s the same principle with honey.
I haven't visited the herbalist in Bihać, nor do I plan to; as for Vipsogal, even the box states it contains a corticosteroid... which is quite easy to verify online.
Even though that Dr. Višnjić claimed his cream was safe and non-steroidal—he was lying.

As I said, I wouldn't put anything on my skin if I didn't know exactly what was in it.
If you were to reveal the composition of that balm without specific measurements, no one could replicate it themselves.
So, perhaps you and your father might consider disclosing at least 90% of the formula to the public, naturally omitting the exact proportions...

Forgive me, Michael Ramos3, but I get the feeling you’re actually angry at US for being skeptical about your balm.

How are we supposed to know you're being sincere when every single post mentions God?

I truly hope you are being honest, but it feels a bit strange to expect us all to believe that you alone hold a miracle cure based solely on your word.
We don't know you, we don't know your father, we have no idea what's actually in the balm, and we don't even know how severe your father's psoriasis was.

All we have is your word that it works, and with all due respect, that isn't nearly enough to convince me of anything...
After all, people lie for their own gain every single hour of every single day, all over this world.
frozenbear5 said:Look, it could be due to increased intimacy. We've been more active over the last few months because we're trying to conceive. This issue started about a month ago.

If you're planning on getting pregnant, my advice is to see an OB-GYN. You'll want to clear up any bacterial or yeast infections now to avoid complications later during the pregnancy.

Get tested for everything and get an ultrasound done...
It sounds like you might be dealing with a yeast infection...

Grab some Johnson & Johnson cream or vaginal suppositories at the pharmacy and start using those. You should also make an appointment with your gynecologist...☕

silentheron25 said:I don't want to descend to the level of arguing over who has it worse; believe me, I have enough sleep deprivation myself, especially back when I was younger and it bothered me much more. And there’s no arguing with the fact that alcohol, soda, and sun exposure harm everyone's body. Everyone makes their own choices, though I think you're being a bit too skeptical—perhaps because, like many of us, you've only experienced temporary relief. We all know how things feel once it returns. It won't matter if he ends up in the hospital; maybe the creams they use will help him now, but I haven't had a seven-year streak without a single flare-up, whereas Michael Ramos3 has managed that. If it worked for him, maybe it can work for me and the rest of us too. Without hope and faith, you really have nothing, because otherwise, it feels incurable. But with hope, perhaps it isn't...👍

Yes, I am skeptical.
Though I have learned to live with psoriasis, and it doesn't bother me quite as much if one can maintain faith.
🙂
