Looking for some input from the pros here 😬
cpu: Q8200
mbo: Asrock P45DE
ram: 2x 2gb ddr2 800
hdd: seagate 500gb
gpu: XFX HD7850 2gb DD
case: Antec 300
psu: Corsair 650HX
It feels a bit weird that FreeSync is supported on basically every GPU from the R7 260 up except for the 270 series... 🤔
We should probably dig into this a bit.
EDIT: Alright, I looked into it. The 280x, 280, 270x, 270, and 265 don't support FreeSync (aside from power saving and video playback) because they're just repackaged HD7800 series cards—meaning they run on GCN 1.0. Meanwhile, those dynamic FreeSync refresh rates require GCN 1.1 or higher.
Try hunting down an older driver, ideally from back in 2016. I just don't buy that a power supply issue would act out like this...
EDIT: Rewriting this because it took me half an hour to type 😬
Just list the temps for the whole system... download Speccy and copy them over from there
Amazon Prime Day is officially live... not sure who’s actually jumping on this or if it's just limited to the US site, but the discounts are supposedly "huge." 😬
I’m seriously considering just ditching my current card and picking up an NVIDIA GTX 1070 for the exact same price... I might even come out ahead with some cash left over. 🤣🤣🤣

Come to think of it... Best Buy might be your best bet if you're looking to pay in installments, since they offer pretty decent financing options similar to their cash prices.

You've got an X370 board, fast RAM, a GTX 1650, and a really solid power supply and case.
Is this some kind of new thing? 🤔 Last time I picked up a PC case a couple of weeks ago, I just went with the standard 12-month installment plan at the listed price. At that shop, they always offered that option.
Same price regardless of how you pay.Never heard of this "up to 9 installments" thing before. 🕺
wiredotter14 said:They claim it ships in about 14 days, but that's just their buffer for international shipping. Usually, it's way faster.
Whether they actually ship within those 14 days? That’s anyone's guess.
That "14 ago" means August 14th. 😬
Bottom line, you might get lucky and see it sooner, but the window they gave is August 3rd to August 22nd.🍿
Anyway, let me know when it shows up. I'm curious to see how long they actually take.
Timothy Kim60 said:When I ordered an SSD from Amazon in the UK, it took way longer than the shipping estimate suggested.
I’d say it’s more about how many cards are actually in stock rather than how long it takes to ship stuff from 😉Italy

$280 including standard shipping
A two to five week wait for delivery?! 🤣
crimsonstag84 said:@analogtiger19 This build is a mess. 😛 Buying a 1500X is a waste, there's no heatsink on the board, the RAM is overpriced, and that GPU is way too weak for what you're spending.
That’s why you’re here, to fix it. 🙂
ASUS Prime B350M-A motherboard, AM4 $258

This is listed on eBay for $2015 PayPal $1000 if you pay cash, which brings it down to about $900.
It's like choosing a heavy-duty truck engine with smaller tires. I went for a stronger CPU and a "weaker" GPU—which is fine for 1080p—so the rig acts as a solid foundation for when someone wants to swap in a beefier card in a few years once they need more muscle.
Just tell me how old the user is and what kind of games they play. Might need a different mix depending on that.
Hang tight. You'll definitely get more input from the rest of the crew here on the forum...

Alright, anyone got a build suggestion for $1667, $6000 cap? Needs to handle gaming and schoolwork.
Cash or financing? And does this include peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitor)?
i5-4690k
CM Hyper 212 X
2x8gb ddr3 HyperX 1866
Asrock Z97 pro4
...$0.67 is this overkill, underpowered, or actually realistic? ☕
Adam Moore3 said:Man, you're overthinking it. An RX 460 with 2 GB can handle The Witcher on high settings if you aren't being greedy with the sliders. So yeah, obviously 3 GB or some beefier card will do better. Sure, if you want those 4K textures, 4 GB might feel tight, but for any normal gaming setup, 2 GB gets the job done... let alone 3 GB on something like a 1060.
That's not the issue here. The point is that the gap between the 3GB version and the 6GB version isn't just about the VRAM; the 6GB model actually has a faster chip. You shouldn't settle for the weaker version when it's only $67 more.

$33 or just follow Nesho's lead and stay patient. I'll dig through everything again later.👍
It's Friday anyway... just hang tight for a few days, you aren't going anywhere.😬
I swear, there's a massive gap from 1,400 to $0.73... where did all those cards go? 😬
Why on earth would you need an Intel Core 5 for just "basic use"?
You're better off grabbing a Pentium G4560... that setup will get you through $0.87
The monitor is pure eye candy 😁
I know it's got everything, so it was basically the best move I could make given what’s available in the US right now. Hopefully, I can at least limp along on medium settings until I upgrade to Navi 😬
