Sandra Chase16 said:Hey, Frank Howard3! Are you actually Alex Scott22? Huh?

Go ahead and call me out if I'm wrong, especially considering that username choice... 😁

P.S. Didn't specify where exactly you should call me out—just a little heads-up in case it turns out I'm actually mistaken.

There’s some kind of secret link
A rule that binds us all deep inside

When choosing which path to ride

I was basically obsessed with becoming Taylor Swift when I was 14... especially after seeing her picture in those fishnet stockings while I was high on heroin (back when they actually used to come in different colors)😍

Back then, I just wanted every girl out there to be Taylor Swift. Honestly? Even today, I wouldn't complain if that were the case... 😁

Look, I wasn't chasing after some random girl in my class at 14 either. I had my eyes on those two sisters living just a few houses down the street... 🙂...
Man, now you’ve got me thinking I should actually hunt down that one Little Queenie cover... Though honestly, everything from the moped era is gold. Hopefully there's actually something decent on Soulseek these days, because last time I checked, there wasn't even a single trace of the moped stuff online...

Or maybe I should just grab a rip from Dinko...

My top books from when I was fourteen? Hold on, let me think... that would’ve been back in 1984, seventh grade... I definitely know what I was obsessed with back then. It probably looked something like this:
Gabriel García Márquez - One Hundred Years of Solitude
Bradbury - tattoo man Grass - tin drum third river bank
Grass - tin drum third river bank
Third River Bank, a collection of Latin American short stories
Paul Tabar - art of fooling around

Even though I spent most of my time sulking by myself or reading humorists—mostly Sholem Aleichem, and a bit of my Kapor—I’d already tackled my first King novel. I was starting to get really into Georges Simenon, too. Back in high school, I basically had half the library from Centaur sitting on my shelf, and I was a die-hard follower of Sirius (right around the time Gibson showed up, giving me even more stuff to obsess over). On trips to Washington, D.C., if I wasn't digging through vinyl at the flowerbed (I was buying Animals, Eric Clapton, Straits, Led Zeppelin), I’d be scouring the old bookstores looking for some Zane Grey novel I hadn't gotten my hands on yet.

Basically, if we're going by Nicholas Perez33's standards, I was (and still am) a total idiot.

Just one of those I actually managed to get through...

Back in the day, whenever my mom would grill me about where I was headed, the answer was usually just "hanging out at Toša's on the corner"... 😂

So, what's the move? Shrimp in cocktail sauce or some pork trotters with sauerkraut? 😁

😍

I've been thinking for years now that we seriously need to organize a "ball of the washerwoman and the painter"... 🙏

~Autumn said:So you actually think you should’ve read them just to keep up with the conversation? Good grief. 😁

I need one more topic before sunrise, damn it... Just settle for some "is there a God or not" debate or maybe some Beatles vs. Stones nonsense... Anything but Saroyan or Kestner...

I’m kidding, mostly, but yeah, sometimes I definitely feel the void where that basic cultural knowledge should be. Honestly, people judge me way harder for being totally clueless about TV shows—past or present—so I usually just try to play it cool and hide the fact that I didn't even grow up reading the classic kids' books either...

Man, respect, but you’re getting ahead of yourself... I still find myself missing those childhood books sometimes. Honestly, I don't know much about that whole genre because I skipped straight to more mature stuff before I even hit middle school. I was already devouring Zane Grey and Kishon, and by the fifth grade, I was deep into Marquez, Grasso, and that whole crowd. Even now, I couldn't tell you much about Saroyan, Kastner, or Seliškar... wouldn't really have anything to contribute if they came up in conversation.

Nicholas Perez33 said:I learned how to read by staring at my Whirlpool fridge. Does that earn me any white trash points? 😬

🙏 🙏 🙏 People didn't have the patience to read Zane Grey for me (seriously, what happened to actual writing?), so I got pissed off and decided to teach myself to read when I was four and a half just so I wouldn't have to rely on anyone else...

Seriously, what is wrong with you guys? How can you not recognize a classic Dior suit when it's right in front of you? Pathetic...

Every guy out there really ought to be hunting down one of these. The cut—and honestly, the whole vibe around you—is basically designed to turn you into an absolute legend :-) Jonathan actually gained some major points in my book after seeing him pull that off.

😍 😍

Ugh, please. What does a built like a brick house as me know about Dior? If I tried to squeeze into that, I’d probably rip the seams instantly. Besides, who decided Valentino had zero taste anyway?

The absolute best songs set in Mexico.

1. Miladin Šobić - Sutomore
2. Đorđe Balašević - waiting for Mexico express
3. Rambo Amadeus - Halid invalid Hari 4. Monteniggers
4. Monteniggers - Ko je sprstio Baba Joka na džadu
5. riblji čorba - Mexico, Bar

Anyone know any others... without me just listing the same artists over and over?
Or has pure brain rot finally taken over the Bar-Bari line?

And I can't even begin to describe how much last night absolutely wrecked me... everything they played is still just vibrating inside my soul...

😍 😍 😍

Anyway, whatever... 🙂 I wasn't quite as obsessed as everyone else around me—it didn't totally hit all my buttons—but honestly, they were solid. It just reinforced my old theory that we should pass a federal law requiring every single band to play one Bob Dylan cover per set. 😁

Huge shoutout to Aquarius, though—it’s been ages since I’ve heard a live sound that crisp. Even those few tracks I caught from the sidelines, once I backed away from the crowd, were crystal clear and sounded great.

Man, I haven't seen poses like that in forever... unknown walked out and actually commented on their outfits, asking, "What is this? Valentino?" My vibe was that most of them are exactly the kind of guys who would drive me insane if I ran into them at some party—you know, the types who pretend they play guitar or drums whenever a good song comes on. But hey, whatever, as long as the music is good.

Actually, let me give them one massive compliment, one of the biggest ones you'll ever get from me: at certain points, especially when it was just the vocals and keys, they really reminded me of Pavlov's Dog. 👍

Anyway, you seriously need to show up to our town hall meeting on December 10th.

Look, Franz Ferdinand might not be "phenomenal" to everyone, but they’re the kind of band that would've absolutely crushed it back in 1979 and stayed legendary. They've got that specific vibe, sort of like the Subtext...
