Totally agree. Had this coworker I actually trusted, then they went and trashed me to my boss at the first opportunity. And man, she was a total nightmare...
Life throws all kinds of lessons at you... clean up after yourself, leave on time, don't pee in the sink.....what've you guys picked up?

Like, how to deal with toxic people...

Real question though... has all this endless availability just led to total burnout? I used to watch porn all the time, but now? Honestly, I'm just over it... too much of it is fake anyway 😳👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Starting a new thread here.

Got this procedure coming up in about ten days—kind of a tricky one. Just wondering if anyone here has gone through it recently... definitely looking for the male perspective.
Is this a thing in places like Atlanta, for example?

I had this boss who was a bit younger than me, originally from Atlanta, and she kept calling me "sir" even though I'm only 40.
Is that just how people are from that part of the country?

I get what you mean, but honestly, the big thing is whether you actually have a treatment plan that works for you.

Not on anything yet. I tried black cumin oil, and for a little while, it really kept my cough under control for almost a full day, but now it’s totally wrecking my stomach... just sending me running to the bathroom. I'm seeing my doctor soon though, so I'll ask about starting some actual meds.

Everyone forgets it’s actually about learning how to live, right? Real stories, morals, those messy dilemmas... I always think back to the bravery in Hero Pavlov’s street or Raskolnikov’s internal struggles... it’s way more than just checking a box for American literature classes. 🤗

Coughing my head off right after I wake up, hacking up all this mucus, then my body finally resets. Then I'm basically choking for a bit once I step outside. People probably assume I had COVID-19. 🥴 My lungs make this whistling sound if I try to take a deep breath.

I actually did have it recently, luckily I pulled through okay considering what it does to your lungs. This black coffee of mine was a lifesaver though—it honestly feels like it gives you a second set of lungs... the real issue is when I lie down because I don't have any symptoms during the day. What might be nothing to someone else hits me like a freight train... and man, since I was 4 years old, everything was fine until about 7 years ago.

Dealing with allergic asthma for 4 years now.
That's actually 38 years total! I did allergy shots for about 10 years back in the day and things finally leveled out...

But then about 7 years ago, I had to stay in this house that was pretty run-down, and my asthma just came roaring back... It mostly hits me when I'm trying to sleep because something near my bed keeps irritating my lungs. I ended up discovering black cumin oil and it’s been a lifesaver. Anyone else found something that works?

But honestly, nobody's out there knocking on doors anymore. The only way you'll actually get caught is if you run into someone at a CVS or if a cop pulls you over.

And just an FYI... I used to work for public works.
The police can totally request data on who was riding the bus or subway at certain times.
People who stare at you in Psychology ·
There’s one part of this whole thing that most people are totally missing.
That split second of silence, the tension in the air, and just how much power she had in her eyes—it was almost commanding. Honestly, my questions from the survey felt pretty pointless after that look... I don't know, maybe I just couldn't hold my own against it and ran out of things to say... but man, what a heavy psychological moment.
People who stare at you in Psychology ·
It's a weird situation.

One look can trigger just about anything.
If some guy with a way higher drive was in my shoes instead and ended up being an aggressor... nobody would even know the first half of this story. He’d just be labeled the bad guy.

Go ahead, kill the messenger! Yeah, fine, I'm just some old-school guy who spends his free time thinking about older women. Rightttt

Thinking about mature women, yeah, but NOT "grandmas"... and she wasn't even that old, she was in her prime. She had this crazy energy, like a charisma that just totally froze me up.

But honestly, even with someone your own age, you can tell when there's chemistry. As for why I didn't make a move...

ironrider11 said:Who knows what goes on inside the heads of people like that, but you notice a pattern. People who actually care enough to ask usually get shut down. It’s like they just don't have the guts to face a question like that head-on. Honestly, watching them squirm is kind of entertaining. You see this same reaction over and over when you start poking at them... It’s weird how some people get so uncomfortable just being watched. Like they can feel your eyes on them, almost like a wireless signal hitting them, which—let's be real—they shouldn't be feeling if they want to act tough.

It gets even weirder when they try to play it cool. They’ll stare someone down, but the second they realize they're being watched back, they fold. They can't hold the gaze. Even if they try to be brave and look someone straight in the eye, they end up looking away almost immediately. Besides the obvious lack of backbone, I wonder what else is going on in their heads? There’s definitely that whole "cat and mouse" vibe playing out, too.

I also wonder if people who stare like that are actually high intelligence, testing if the other person can handle the pressure. Which, yeah, brings up those sexual undertones about whether they can handle things in bed too... lol.

What goes through people's heads like that?

Like, I was doing the Census about a month ago.
The last person on my list was this older Mexican woman with dark hair.
At first, we were just chatting normally, and she looked pretty disheveled and unkempt. But as we kept talking, she suddenly sat up straight, leaned in, and started staring at me like a cat eyeing a mouse... had I stumbled onto some nymphomaniac? What is actually going on in their minds?

The vibe got super weird, and it felt like my questions didn't even matter anymore. To make things interesting, older women usually dig me... but it was like she was waiting for me to make the first move. I managed to wrap up the interview, but I just couldn't find the guts to ask her what that look was all about....

Adam Morales2 said:So, there's this sociological thing called diffusion of responsibility. Or the bystander effect, if you want to be fancy about it. Basically, the more people around, the less likely anyone actually does anything. I guess everyone just assumes someone else will step up. Maybe.

So, some random guy collapses from a heart attack right in the middle of a busy downtown plaza. People just... gather around. Some stare, others just walk right past him like nothing happened. I guess that's just how it goes now.
Since everyone’s getting called out now, nobody seems really eager to step up and help. They're just passing the buck back and forth—both as individuals and as a group, I guess. It’s like they all think someone else already stepped up, or that helping is somehow everyone's job equally. Maybe.

Diffusion models are basically just math trying to be art. It’s this whole process where you take an image, add a bunch of random noise until it looks like static on an old TV, and then train a model to reverse that mess. It learns how to peel back the layers of noise to find the picture underneath. The tech is cool, I guess. It’s what powers stuff like Midjourney or DALL-E. But there’s a massive headache brewing around copyright and who actually owns the output. If a model learns from millions of images scraped off the web without permission, is the result "new" or just high-tech plagiarism? People are fighting about it in court right now. It's a mess. Maybe it'll settle down, maybe it won't. Who knows.

Heard of that before! You're onto something here. Could totally be that.🤔

There’s this girl on my team, kind of a sweetheart at first glance. She looks good, seems friendly... reminds me of an unknown stocking 🙄
Except once you actually get to know her, you just want to pull that stocking over your head....

She’s been super high-strung lately, even managed to screw up the job she specifically retrained for. It all comes down to being difficult—she’s just got this stubborn streak. I heard she recently drove away a friend of mine while I wasn't around, and that friend hadn't even done anything to her. And that friend is usually pretty introverted. So yeah, she’s not easy to rattle. At least, I think that’s true for people like that.

But what’s really bugging me from yesterday is how aggressive she was toward this younger girl in our group, and neither my buddy nor I said a word. Even though I felt like telling her—like, hey, maybe watch how you talk to her 🤨 Why is it so hard for people to just step up and defend someone? Maybe it's just because I haven't known this younger girl for that long...
Root canal experiences? What should I expect? in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
Got three appointments lined up with an endodontist—basically a specialist for root canals. I should be getting local anesthesia, too.

The weird part is, I’ve never actually felt tooth pain before. But the X-ray showed some gum inflammation, and apparently, there's a cavity between two teeth because a filling cracked out of nowhere. No real reason for it, either.

Has anyone here gone through something like this?
