Ugh, it’s honestly always the exact same story, some people just have it easy while others struggle 🙄 I don't even go deep with it, I’m mostly just swimming in the ocean, doing water aerobics, fancy gymnastics moves, and all that, so thank God it actually gets filled up with water.
But seriously, if you’re using a tampon around water, the absolute most important thing is to carry some kind of moisturizing cream with you, like maybe some Neutrogena hand cream or whatever, because your lips get so dry—especially in a pool!! And trust me, trying to put in a new tampon is a total nightmare when everything down there feels as dry as gunpowder.😲
driftingridge37 said:For me, the Mayo Clinic is hands down the best, and Dr. Tihana Mazalin is such an amazing gynecologist! She’s so bright, super attentive, and we always end up having the best little chats. Seriously, she’s awesome!
Well, Tihana Mazalin couldn't even handle my yeast infection, what a total joke! I barely even got out the door before I was done there, and of course, I still had to pay full price $133, so I wouldn't recommend her to anyone in the world 👎👎
I went in because I was dealing with double periods—like, two different flows in one month—and she just told me I was bleeding during ovulation and sent me right back home 👎👎
Meanwhile, this guy Dr. Gudelj didn't even bother checking my hormone levels and immediately put me on some testing to stop the bleeding
And get this, Mazalinka tried telling me about my yeast infection by lecturing me on how I wash my underwear, saying I need to boil them and actually wash myself properly!! I mean, did she ever even hear of Canesten or vaginal suppositories? She must have been fast asleep during that part of the lecture! 👎👎

To be honest, this thread about laser eye surgery completely caught me off guard. I actually sent this link to a friend who is planning a trip to Russia later this month. While I have considered getting corrective surgery myself at some point, I am now feeling quite certain that I would pass... unless, perhaps, this latest method becomes standard practice.
It seems more prudent to wait until the technology has fully matured.
For context, my prescription is roughly -5.5 or something in that ballpark.
I actually heard from this really prominent ophthalmology professor that laser surgery isn't always the luckiest move to make, because you might get a good twenty years out of it, but nobody truly knows what the long-term consequences are yet, and I've even heard that in some cases people experience progressive vision loss or even blindness toward the end of their lives 😢 this was observed in patients who had surgery back in the 80s over in Russia when laser tech was still in its infancy. I'm not trying to start a panic here, but it's definitely better to hold off for a little while longer. My eye doctor actually advised me to just keep wearing contacts for as long as my eyes can handle them. In my opinion, laser surgery is really meant for people with extreme nearsightedness like -10 or higher, where those folks seriously don't have much to lose 🤷
So I’ve actually noticed this super interesting side effect with Yasmin, which happens to be the first birth control I've ever tried, and I've been on them for over a year now. I’ve realized that my period has definitely gotten longer. It lasts exactly seven days, and if I happen to have sex on that last day, I'll still have some light spotting going on through the eighth day 😢
Before I started these, my period would only last four days max, and those last two days were just light brown spotting—honestly, a regular pad was plenty because it wasn't even heavy—and usually, if I had sex or went swimming in a pool or at the beach on that final day, it would just stop right then and there 😢
As far as the cramps go, they feel pretty much the same as they did before I started the pill, so it’s really nothing too crazy; just popping an Advil totally takes care of it.
Hey, does anyone know if it’s possible to get surgery for kyphosis, since my curvature is sitting at around 33% right now? 😢 I swear, I just want to get rid of this pain once and for all because I seriously can't deal with dragging this body around anymore 😢
Also, would it be smarter to have the procedure done before I have kids or wait until after? I am honestly terrified that breastfeeding might mess everything up and push my spine right back to how it was originally 🤷
Carol Brooks41 said:Of course it’s physically possible, but honestly, it almost never happens! It’s not like a rat can just casually stroll through all those pipes and plumbing right up to the toilet bowl, especially since in a busy house or an apartment building where people are constantly flushing, they’re never going to make it to the bowl itself. Plus, let's be real, every mom out there is constantly dumping different scents, Lysol, or even heavy-duty cleaners down the drain, so those intense chemical cocktails are hitting the pipes and the sewer system every single day, so I really don't think rats could survive in that kind of environment. And if you live on the third or fourth floor of an apartment complex, you seriously don't need to worry about a rat coming out of your toilet.
Lisa Martin50, I hope that at least helps you feel a little better!
Well, now I’m gonna be cleaning my toilet every single day😁 just so it stays shiny and becomes the cleanest damn toilet in the whole building🤣
I don't usually use the heavy stuff, but I bet Clorox is more than enough to take out any nasty rats😠
rapidmaker10 said:Man, look how this thread just exploded... it’s such a bummer the OP isn't posting anymore because I really wanted to see if those tips actually worked for anyone... maybe they got intimidated since we all started clowning around, but honestly, none of this is even funny... taking a dump is a totally normal and super important part of being alive, yet everyone acts like it's some huge taboo... I seriously suggest the mods just rename this whole thing to The Big Poop - tips, tricks and support...
I am totally with you on this! 🙂 If gourmet cooking counts as the input, then why shouldn't our business be considered a top-tier topic? 😁
Besides, I was watching this documentary the other day about that wild lady traveling through Eastern Europe, and they were talking about these special toilet seats—the flat ones that German companies manufacture Apparently, those flat seats are designed specifically for stool inspection, so you can get a crystal clear view of exactly how your digestion is doing🙂
stormyheron4 said:Look, raccoon-style pests aren't going to eat garbage, so you don't need to freak out about that, but I really wouldn't recommend flushing food scraps down the toilet because that's exactly how you attract those little critters—the smell just draws them right to you!
stormyheron4 said:so one of my girlfriends used to struggle with bulimia, right? she was constantly throwing up in the bathroom, and I guess the smell actually started attracting rats that would just show up through the pipes in her toilet all the time. but once she finally got clean and stopped purging, the rats totally vanished because there wasn't that vomit scent drawing them in anymore.
😱😱😱 oh my god, I seriously did not need to hear that today, I am officially done talking, I'm shutting my mouth right now😲
thank goodness I don't deal with bulimia, though I definitely know better than to dump leftover food scraps down the sink
Since we’re already diving into these totally bizarre topics, I have to admit I have this massive phobia where I’m terrified some kind of creepy little creature is just gonna fly right out of my shellfish like a random rodent or even a lizard 😲
I mean, is that even a real thing that could happen? 😲
Ugh, I swear this happens to me all the time whenever I’m using cheap, scratchy paper or if I accidentally grab those flimsy little napkins instead of the good stuff. Sometimes that constant stinging and the desperate urge to just scratch everything off drives me absolutely insane.
Then I finally discovered Johnson & Johnson's diaper rash cream😁—you know, that super thick baby ointment they use on toddlers—and honestly, that stuff was a total lifesaver for me!🙏
To be honest, using those generic feminine wipes from CVS actually makes the itching way worse for me.🙄
And if we're being totally real here, most of my issues actually stem from hemorrhoids and an anal fissure.
I know last time I called the local clinic, they just told me to swing by once my referral was ready, so I grabbed it and headed over.
Now I'm a little confused—do I need to go in first to get officially registered before showing up for an exam with my referral, or can I just show up with the paperwork right away? I think I'll just stroll over to my doctor's office first to clear it all up.
I really don't think you need to worry about registering beforehand because I basically just showed up at the Holy Spirit clinic with my referral and was able to set up an appointment right then and there, but hey, if you have some extra time, maybe just walk over and check it out or give them a ring!
Jeffrey Walker3 said:Nah, I'm not wearing contacts right now. I was just asking generally for whenever I head that way! Should I check in first or can I just swing by?
Well, you definitely need to call ahead first because I've spent my whole life popping into eye clinics for contacts, so I'm totally in the dark about how the procedure works for glasses, but if you're heading to a hospital, you're absolutely going to need a referral from your doctor. Your best bet is to just give the office you want to visit a quick ring, and they'll tell you exactly what's what.
Jeffrey Walker3 said:I used to go to Baić, but I’m totally done with them—it just doesn't feel right anymore. My first pair of lenses from years ago was actually great, but last time I went in for glasses, they gave me way too strong a prescription! I literally can't wear them. Plus, his staff isn't really my vibe, so I decided it was time for a change.
I also tried out Getaldus once. Honestly, shopping there was such a headache because they didn't have any decent frames that weren't priced like they were for astronauts! And the people working there acted like they didn't even want to be there.
One more thing—do I need to check in with a doctor at the clinic first, or can I just show up with my insurance referral for the exam?
So, you basically just get a referral for an optometry specialist from your primary care doctor, then give the hospital or clinic you want to visit a call to set up an appointment, because you actually aren't supposed to wear contact lenses for a few days before certain exams!
Honestly, I think Getaldus is totally fine if you're just dealing with standard stuff, like a basic prescription or whatever. But look, if there’s actual eye pathology involved—we're talking high prescriptions or serious irritation—you really ought to head to a major hospital or find a top-tier specialist in private practice.
The thing is, most of those doctors working at the hospital actually run their own private clinics on the side, so they'll usually refer you to their own office while suggesting you handle the essential stuff through your insurance at the hospital.
Ashley Campbell7 said:Hmm... which location did you go to? I usually head to the one near the main square... half the staff up there are so rude... and then there's that one arrogant nurse downstairs... she'll be chatting away on her cell phone while I'm standing right in front of her for ten minutes. But the doctor there is hands down the best I've ever seen... she used to wear contacts herself once... I was a complete paranoid when it came to putting things in my eyes... but she was so understanding and told me I could come in every single day to have her put them in until I got used to them... she explained everything perfectly... and her touch is incredibly gentle... I once had some white stuff in my eye and back at the Klaićev location, the woman there nearly ripped my eyelid off, but this doctor is truly wonderful...
I always just headed to the plaza but I dealt with this old grouch who totally freaked me out, she started nagging me like crazy just because I was using the little suction tool to take my lenses out 😢
