Just woke up... I don't know how things are looking on your end, but January honestly felt like nothing more than a free trial month for winter🙂 😬February feels like the perfect time to finally get moving and take some action🙂
Alright, okay, I think we might have gotten a little too carried away with all the political talk in this movie thread... I mean, discussing the historical stuff related to the film is totally fine, but let's try not to let things spiral too far in that direction while we wait for some of this debate to potentially move over to a more appropriate subforum. Thanks!
This is honestly one of my all-time favorites... I find myself revisiting it every single time I hit one of those deep existential crises.
Even when life is totally fine, certain lines or specific scenes just pop into my head out of nowhere...
And then, I just stumbled upon this: original footage.
For anyone who isn't aware, it's an animated movie that was actually shot first with a standard live-action camera, and then they used that raw footage as the blueprint to create the animation. Pretty wild, right?
I thought it would be super cool to watch, so I just had to come over here and share it with you guys! 👍
Man, maybe that was true once upon a time, but nowadays? When people are gifting cash instead of some clunky kitchen mixer or those massive porcelain dog statues... I don't know, people seem way more moderate about how they eat and drink, and their behavior follows suit. It’s just different now.
The 90s feel like a lifetime ago when that was just the standard 😁
Alright, I don't know much about Springfield, but does that thing run 24/7? 😬
As for weddings, honestly, just have a blast! It really all boils down to the band and what the newlyweds actually want to hear. When my cousin got married, it was a total blast... though that was a pretty small crowd, like under a hundred people, so the music stayed more on the indie rock side.
But get this—I was at another wedding about two and a half months ago and it was totally old-school. They did a whole set of folk songs, then moved into those classic wedding party hits, and maybe halfway through they threw in some rock before finally playing whatever the couple requested. I mean, who can even stay awake through all that? lol 😬
I only caught it once on TV years ago, but honestly, thinking back, it really stuck with me. That sheer absurdity was just pure genius...
I remember people buzzing about a sequel being filmed, but I guess that never actually happened.
Still, for some reason, whenever anyone talks about American movies—even the good ones—everyone finds something to nitpick. But this one? Well, Oakland needs to start making stuff like Police Academy 👍
New episode Rock Live podcast! We just spent an entire hour chatting with the guys from Atheist... all about that "first 30 years" tour 🎉. Such a blast!
