The problem is, right-clicking here doesn't do anything. It's useless. I can pull up Properties and dive into Advanced Disk Properties, which just opens that window with the usual tabs—"General," "Volumes," "Drivers," "Details," and "Events"—but that’s it. No luck there.
I just wanted to add my two cents here—I can see the external Hard Drive sitting right there in Disk Management without any issues, everything looks totally fine on paper, but for some reason, it’s nowhere to be found when I open File Explorer.🤔
So, I pulled an old Hard Drive out of my ancient HP laptop and popped it into a decent external enclosure. Now, when I plug it into my brand-new HP laptop running Windows 11, absolutely nothing happens. Zilch. Zero. The little light on the Hard Drive flickers to life, sure, but the computer? It acts like there isn't even a device attached. Nothing shows up in File Explorer. Nothing. I should probably mention that if I plug it into my Samsung TV, it works perfectly fine—I can scroll through all my video files without a single hiccup.
Why on earth is Windows 11 ignoring this Hard Drive?
First off, what really bugs me is that they didn't even shoot at any authentic locations—it was all done in the United Kingdom. Supposedly a few bits were filmed in Africa, but without the actors present. For the most part? It’s just heavy CGI.🤦The landscapes often look like they were pulled straight out of some cheap children's fairy tale about princes and princesses.😵I'm not saying it isn't pretty, but in this instance, I'm just not feeling it.
Look, I can handle CGI when we're talking about big sci-fi action spectacles, but an adaptation of an Agatha Christie mystery? No thanks, that's just not my thing.☕
This is a movie made for the younger crowd—the ones who haven't actually read Agatha and haven't bothered watching the classics. Sure... they'll probably be happy enough.👍
I have to come clean: I’ve never actually sat through The Magnificent Seven. I’ve tried starting it a few times... but honestly? It’s just boring. It makes you want to commit ritual suicide just to make it end.
I’m not sure if I’ll ever get around to it... those old black-and-white Japanese films just aren't my speed...🙂
But whatever, it’s still sitting there on my hard drive.
I have to wonder... will Jason Statham ever actually play a role that’s different from everything else he’s done?🤔 It's always that exact same look... the same cadence... the same tired routine every single time.🤦
It's a curse that seems to plague so many of them... take Liam Neeson, for example. They land one decent part and then they just churn out the exact same character for the next 20 years.
Now, I’m not saying Jason Statham is any better than Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal, but still.☕
Look, all I know is that here in America and across most of the States, nobody moves into a trailer park or lives in a campground because they're broke. If anyone actually tried that... they’d change their mind real fast!
The American system just allows it, so plenty of people do it just to follow some random whim. It isn't always about the money. Sometimes, it's just pure hippie vibes.🙂
As for this movie, I don't feel a shred of sympathy for the lead actress, nor for anyone else involved. People "enjoy" themselves in their own weird ways, and once they get sick of living in a literal gutter due to war... they'll go right back to a normal lifestyle.👍
What northerncrane4 is getting at actually makes sense. Whether you're looking at the States or any other country in Europe, there are always going to be old, sick, or just plain incompetent people hanging around. It’s not like there are these nomads driving around in vans living in mobile camps avoiding everything.
The whole system in the USA is exactly what enables those American nomads to exist in the first place. In America, finding temporary work is incredibly easy. You know? Like, if you hit a rough patch, you can just pick up a gig for a few days, grab some quick cash... and just keep that cycle going indefinitely. It works completely differently here.
Actually, because of my line of work, I find myself traveling to states like New Jersey and Florida quite often. Everyone I've met—and most of them are immigrants who moved to the US—tells me the same thing: in America, absolutely anyone who is willing to put in the effort can live a decent life. You just have to work! But the point is, everyone gets a shot because the work is always there.
Look, I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’m talking about what’s actually happening on screen here. From where I’m sitting, the lead actress looks perfectly capable and healthy. And her friend? He seems just as fine, doesn't he? Plus, by the end, we see he’s got a family and a solid support system behind him. Honestly, none of the others look sick or even remotely unfit for work to me. Hmm... I don't know.🤔
To be perfectly honest, I just don't get this whole nomad lifestyle obsession! Some people claim they're just victims of a ruthless capitalist system... but if you ask me, living out of a van, bouncing from one campsite to the next, is way harder financially and practically than just having a steady job and renting an apartment somewhere...
Just imagine constantly switching jobs... always stuck in those adaptation and adjustment phases... and on top of all that, fighting for survival in a van when it's -5°F outside!
Because from what we see in the movie, our lead actress is actually hardworking and responsible... which means she hasn't just given up on life. I find the bums under the bridge who do absolutely nothing much easier to understand... they just lie there waiting to kick the bucket! But these people? I don't get them at all.🤔 Think about it for a second... what kind of "freedom" is that? What did they actually find?! Purpose? Please!
They are prisoners of their own disappointments and failures! And now, through this way of life, they are consciously destroying their own essence! Pure masochism! Systematically and slowly tearing themselves apart is the only pleasure they have left. It's tragic...
I have to wonder... how did this movie generate such massive hype in the first place?! It was an absolute favorite for the Oscar from the moment the nominations were announced, so it’s hardly a shock that it actually won.
Just one more little thing, but honestly, it’s these tiny details that drive me absolutely insane... especially when they come from "distinguished" directors who should really know better!
You’ve got these old veterans, 65 plus, getting together after thirty or forty years, and suddenly they're tearing up the dance floor at some club, only to be shown in the very next scene just lounging around sipping JUICE THROUGH A STRAW🤦 Give me a break... It felt like Spike was just throwing scenes together without any actual structure or vision... Actually, those juices were put front and center on purpose, wasn't that obvious? It’s a cheap way to make sure nobody suspects his gritty veterans are actually hitting the bottle... how slippery can you get?🤦
And I have to wonder, what on earth took them forty years to go hunting for that gold?🤔
Maybe they needed some young girl to show up in her prime to help out with the logistics?😛
Spike... after this stunt... can things even get any worse?!
This movie is an absolute disaster... I don't even know how to describe it... just a cinematic mess from an overambitious, lost activist director who seems to think his entire purpose in life is cranking out films with the exact same political agenda every single time.🥱 But whatever... let him make what he wants... the film is clearly targeted at a specific Black American audience anyway...
One thing really jumped out at me, though... the former prostitute from the Vietnam War era in this movie looks like she's barely fifty (she's holding up well), but the Black lead looks well into his sixties (at least, that's my guess), and if we're assuming this takes place in the present day—considering the Vietnam War ended roughly 45 years ago... How old was she when she was working those streets and hooking up with our guy in the film?? 5?! 10?! 🤔😵🤦
If you’re into music-centered stories, heavy cinematic drama, and if *Fences* actually hit home for you... then honestly? You cannot afford to miss this masterpiece. 🙏 The performances by Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis are absolute Top Role material 👍...and don't even get me started on the score, it's stunning 🙏 Those long, gripping dialogues... I mean, really, I could watch this thing on loop every single day.
Aside from *Tenet*, this is easily the best film released in 2020.
I still remember when I staged a dramatic walkout from AMC Theatres halfway through J. J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek starring Chris Pine. Right near the end, when Kirk just casually—almost effortlessly—snatches command of the Enterprise... I just couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed my girlfriend by the hand and we fled into the night!! Look, I’m a die-hard fan of the original Star Trek series, but these modern reboots? I just can't stomach them. I won't even watch them...
By the way, browsing through some old threads, I saw people mentioning movies they actually walked out on... meanwhile, those are some of my absolute favorites. The Big Lebowski? For God's sake, I watch that on a monthly basis—it's pure therapy. And then there's Flight Above Coward's Nest... that's basically the gold standard. Or Tenet... I've actually sat through that one six times in the last few months alone.☕ 🍿
Are you seriously still sitting there watching regular broadcast television?! Between all those insane, mind-numbing commercials, how can anyone stand it?🤦
As far as I'm concerned, the TV guide is only useful for checking sports scores and the weather forecast! And honestly, that’s been my policy for ages.☕
Look, I’m not trying to look down on anyone who actually enjoyed this series. Really, I'm not. I managed to power through the first season and a handful of episodes into the second before I finally threw in the towel. Why? Because the writing feels like it was specifically engineered for an audience aged 75 and up.🤔 It’s just too much—so incredibly dull and childishly simple... honestly, it feels like it was tailor-made for some nursing home crowd that’s already checked out and just needs something easy to follow while they drift off. 🤷
Honestly, a fantastic movie... I’d even rank it higher than The Big Short.
But look... this isn't for people who couldn't care less about politics. So, if that's you, just steer clear at all costs, regardless of how Oscarworthy the acting is.
And whatever you do, do NOT take your wife or girlfriend to see this one... unless you're looking to sleep on the couch for a week!
