I went from 115 lbs up to about 121 lbs, and most of that weight ended up settling right around my waist...😠
This is me actually trying to build those muscles everyone else seems to be talking about...😁
(I've got a dumbbell in my hand, it just isn't visible in the shot)

I managed to snap one of these a few days ago while I was out training, and then I just took this other one right there on the beach

Just my little contribution.
Maybe I should have tried a different angle, but for now, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Reading through all those threads about how "impossible" it is to lose weight after thirty—with everyone obsessing over muscle loss and fat distribution—actually gave me the push I needed to share a few random photos from today. Now, don't get me wrong, I’m not exactly in peak physical condition right now—I’ve definitely used food as a bit of a crutch to deal with some stressful life events over the last year, so the scale is a little higher than usual—but my point is this: despite the desk job, raising two kids who are constantly running to school, and dealing with the general aches and pains of being 45, we really shouldn't feel forced to hide ourselves away in those old-fashioned, floral-print "grandma dresses" that women our age used to wear just to blend into the background 😬

If all these ladies over 35 are doing it, then why shouldn't I jump in too? 😁 I've been at this for two years now. 🎉
35 years old, 156 lbs / 51 kg. My routine is three full-body strength sessions a week and one session of power walking on the treadmill.

After the workout... my obliques are popping out just a little bit and it’s kind of annoying, though I haven't even been targeting them specifically—I guess they just developed from all the deadlifts and squats.

Back area—don't really train it directly either, but I suppose it happens because I'm always hitting arms and shoulders...

The last time I did squats, I think I was using maybe 20 lbs... now I'm up to 75 lbs, except I don't have a squat rack here so I just lift them off the floor, clean them up, and drop them on my shoulders, you know how it is... honestly, I could probably go much heavier on the legs, but my arms just can't handle lifting more weight onto my back... once the gym isn't so crowded, I'll grab some shots of my glutes and legs... I'm feeling pretty good about the progress. 😁

So, this is pretty much what we're looking at. I guess the shots look a little weird because of that high angle I was shooting from...

Time to break this streak of posts featuring women with great backs and glutes from Brooklyn. 😁
Bodyweight exercises 1-2 times a week, running 3 times a week (30-25 miles mins). I'm 35 years old, turning 36 soon, 5'8"/163lbs.

27.5 inch waist.
It’s nothing crazy, but I’m pretty happy with how things are looking!
