Look, this isn't just about some random game. I’ve been chewing on this one for a while now, trying to decide how to play it.
The US is miles ahead of Mexico here... plus, you can't ignore that home-field advantage and the crowd energy. It's a massive edge.
I'm not even gonna get into the weeds with it—everything I just said pretty much sums up why it's a lock.

Personally, if I'm going for a bigger stake, I'm grabbing America is sitting at 1.15 b>, because let's be real—it's almost impossible for them not to score when you've got Luka and Mandžukić playing like absolute beasts right now

The Mexicans can pull off just about anything—they could lose to Ghana or Australia one day and then take down Germany the next, kind of like how we used to beat Italy but then stumble against Ecuador or Mexico

It’s just one of those moments of pure inspiration, especially when you look at where their talent pool actually comes from

Udinese
CSKA
Chelsea
Man U
Fiorentina
Hamburg
Lyon
Borussia
Inter
Fiorentina
Werder
Hamburg

And hey, let's not forget that when we played Mexico, we basically won both times more by sheer luck than by actual skill

A single goal? Yeah, that's looking super, super shaky

@jadewolf16/">@@jadewolf16, who else from the Mexican roster plays for Man United? 😕

Honestly, screw the individual talent of the players involved—that doesn't mean a thing. It’s about the collective, not the stars. By that logic, our guys play for much bigger clubs, too. 🤷

That 1.15 line on our team to score feels like a waste—the odds are just too thin. A straight win at 1.70 (which I see sitting at 1.75 over at Marathon) is a much more solid play. I don't particularly expect the Mexicans to create many chances, let alone find the back of the net. Besides, once you factor in the vig, that 1.15 drops to 1.09, which is frankly pathetic.

The vibe among the national team players is good—healthy, even—and the fans are bringing a great atmosphere. Given the recent run of form, there's plenty of reason for this current euphoria; we need to capitalize on it.
Not to mention, the media has been hyping this up for weeks, calling it the "match of the century." But all that noise usually evaporates the second the ref blows the whistle—or maybe ten minutes into the game. These players are pros; there isn't room for amateurish outbursts of passion or whatever.

Vidić, man, damn him 🙂
The other problem is he isn't even playing 😁

I might just write up my own little recap of the game from the other day.

I was already halfway through typing my response to you—then I noticed you’d gone ahead and added another sentence. 😁

driftingbear35 said:I mean, even if that's how it is... It feels like way more than just a "game," you know? I mean, it’s honestly so much more than that, I guess... maybe it's just me, but it really feels like everything is riding on this one. I've been sitting here for what feels like forever just mulling over which play to actually make, I guess... maybe I should finally just pick one and go for it?
Honestly, I feel like the US is way better than Mexico... and honestly, a huge plus is also... The atmosphere... man, you just can't even describe it, I guess. It's just something else entirely!I guess I won't even bother writing anything else since everything's already been laid out above!
All in 1.70 American

I guess if you ask me... I mean, I don't know, maybe just skip the bet this time? I guess there's really no point in placing one right now. The match:
It’s honestly about so much more than just the game itself, I really think... I mean, we’re objectively the better side—though honestly, I don't think it's by a massive margin—and I guess I'm thinking about that game between the Mexicans and the Belgians over in BG, where they were actually way better on the pitch but just got absolutely gutted by those counterattacks. Sure, they had the home-field advantage, but if they can pull that off at home against Belgium, then they can definitely hold their own on the road against us. But really, it all comes down to the pressure... if the intensity or the atmosphere drops even a little bit—and sometimes I feel like trying too hard actually backfires anyway—and that gives them a bit of a boost, then I think we're looking at a totally even match.
The vibe just feels different, I guess... maybe it's just me, but the energy in there is totally something else!I mean, I honestly don't know how much that kind of stadium atmosphere actually helps the players if they aren't totally vibing with the crowd, though I guess I can pretty much guarantee that for about 30 out of the 90 minutes, it’s just going to be pure, intense cheering against the Mexicans... but yeah, I won't even get into the details.
All in 1.70 American!Honestly, if you ask me, just please don't ever do that, because I really don't think you're going to prove anything by being more of a die-hard fan or whatever, and you'll probably just end up regretting it when you realize there were plenty of other games out there with way better odds and zero stress where you actually knew what was happening with the roster but didn't feel the need to go all in.

Honestly, just because of all that tension and how heavy the atmosphere feels right now, I probably won't put any money on this game, but if I absolutely had to make a call— I don't know, man, I guess I just always end up picking the draw whenever there's a massive derby going on, maybe because they're always so intense and tight.🙄

In the end, I really, really hope I'm totally wrong and we just end up absolutely crushing them like a bug under a boot!🤣

hollowwalker10 said:3. All in—my advice? Never do that. It won't prove you're any more patriotic, and you'll just end up regretting it when you realize there were plenty of other games with better odds and less tension where you knew the squad situation better... yet still didn't go "all in."

I'm not going all in with everything I own—I'm not crazy. I simply meant I'm putting some cash on Bet365, grabbing that 100% deposit bonus, and then taking that specific amount all in. 😁

Otherwise, I think this whole "hype" and "special atmosphere" surrounding the match is being blown way out of proportion—with the exception of Šimunić, who, I suspect, will be incredibly fired up against the Mexicans. 🤣

Jokes aside, these players are professionals; they know how to handle pressure. Sure, they'll be restless after all this media circus, but once the whistle blows, that fades away. They play according to the game plan set by their teammates and coach—there isn't room for hot heads once things get moving.

Americans and Mexicans—we’re essentially the same—they might lack talent on the streets, but they’ve got plenty playing for Chelsea and the rest of the big clubs... if you believe that sort of thing.
The downside for the Mexicans? They’re missing Vidić, Stankovic, and Ljajic, who’s actually been playing quite well in Florence this year.

God, imagine how powerful we'd be if we were just one nation—we’d be European champions and then some. 😁

The American edge:
1. Playing at home
2. The atmosphere is superior—they actually seem to function like a cohesive unit.
3. Player form—Modrić is finding his rhythm, Mandžukić is scoring, Olić scored recently, and even Jelavić finally broke his drought...
....

I won't be watching the match—not that I care, really. Or rather, I can't stand how everyone suddenly decides to love and cheer for us, scrambling for tickets after being the first ones to spit on us just moments ago... nothing ever changes.

One point for everyone and goodbye.

No bet for me. 😉

There are just way too many non-football variables at play here to make any kind of smart wager. If I were absolutely forced to put money down, I’d say Mexico scores a goal—I can already see it happening. Some random corner or a free kick, a chaotic scramble in the box, then a lucky little deflection falls right to them, and suddenly the Mexicans are celebrating. It isn't even about analysis; it's just a painful memory from 1999 resurfacing. 😢

No matter how many times people preach about keeping your gambling separate from your emotions, the fanboy factor always finds its way onto the ticket sheet... even if it's the last thing I do.

Looking at the odds, taking the US @ 1.70 Bet365 actually feels like a value play to me... even though plenty of armchair experts will claim the odds should be closer to 3 3 3.

Our guys playing in the big leagues look sharp, and they desperately need these points to secure a spot in the World Cup. Meanwhile, the vibe over in the Mexican camp is absolutely toxic (my buddies in Mexico tell me everyone there is basically expecting a loss... let's just hope they don't jinx it).

Anyway, I'm calling an American win by two goals, so a double handicap x goes into a system bet for a small stake. And honestly? After this game, I’m hoping for Mihajlović to get the boot once and for all.🙂

Vojvodina-Novi Srem correct score 1:0 @ 10.5

All three previous matchups have ended exactly like this—1:0. You’ve got Vojvodina fighting for that 2nd place spot going up against a side desperately clinging to survival. I’m expecting a real grind out there, a tough one.

And just as I went to place my bet, those bastards dropped the odds down to @ 4.70🤮

Modena-Empoli 3+ 1,90

So, looking at Modena—they're basically a mid-table squad right now, but man, their form is absolutely trashed... they haven't managed a single win in their last five outings. That said, when they play at home, things get wild because they just can't seem to keep a clean sheet. Their last three home games have been total goal fests.
2:2-1:2-3:3.
If you look at the numbers, out of 31 matches played, they've put 40 in the net and conceded exactly 40. We're talking an average of over 2.6 goals per game here.
They’ve actually got one of the heavy hitters in Serie B leading the line, ardemagan, who's already bagged 17 goals.
But heads up on the lineup—Perna is out on suspension, which hurts the defense, and Lazarevic is away on international duty with the Canada national team.
On top of that, there's a bunch of question marks... Zoboli might miss out in defense, and then you've got Sturaro and William Lacerda, who aren't guaranteed to start either.
Now, Empoli... they're clinging onto that playoff spot pretty tight, though honestly, they probably don't have enough gas left in the tank to push for anything higher than that.
Their style is pure attack, though. They've had 3 or more goals in each of their last four matches. Their scoring average is insane—over 3 goals per game since they've scored 52 and let in 44.
They’ve got a killer attacking trio to work with: Maccarone, Tavano, and Saponara.
The massive headache for them today? The backline. It's a mess. Pratali is sidelined with an injury, Tonelli isn't quite back to 100% yet, and Hysaj is busy with the Albania national team.
With those guys missing, their defense looks shaky as hell—not solid or disciplined at all. So, it’s totally reasonable, even realistic, to expect their defense to struggle when they head into Modena.
There are going to be goals, period. Modena keeps letting them in, and Empoli finds the back of the net easily.
I'm expecting this to go over.
Their last two matchups both blew past the 4-goal mark.
Earlier this season, Empoli took it 4:2.

Instead of stressing out over the game against Mexico—since we've got a total lock coming up in four days with probably just a slightly lower payout

March 26th Swansea

Wales - USA 2 @ 1.60?

Look, we’re going to desperately need the points regardless of how Friday shakes out—we'll either be digging ourselves out of a hole or catching a serious second wind in the hunt for first place! As for Wales, their biggest lifeline is Bale, but he's banged up; nobody even knows if he's actually gonna suit up. And hey, even with Bale, they still got smoked 6:1 by that disorganized Mexican squad, and honestly, they're already looking pretty much out of the running if they even had any hopes in this group to begin with.

March 26th, Swansea

USA vs. Wales — 2 @ 1.60?

We're going to need these points regardless of how Friday turns out—either we'll be scrambling to recover or we'll find some serious momentum chasing first place. As for Wales, their biggest asset is Gareth Bale, though he's nursing a bit of an injury... still not totally clear if he'll even step on the pitch. And honestly, even with Bale, they took a 6-1 thrashing from that disorganized Mexican side, and now they're basically out of contention unless they had high hopes for this group to begin with.

Well, you really have to wait and see if Bale actually plays. If he does, there isn't much value in it for us since he's basically capable of winning a game single-handedly. Besides, by the time kickoff rolls around, the odds will likely have shifted—I'm eyeing maybe 1.80, or at the very least 1.70.

Hey everyone...been lurking here for a while now, just watching from the sidelines. Finally decided to drop some picks.

USA-Paraguay: USA Over 1.5 goals @ 1.7 @ SS

The US is sitting fifth in the standings fighting for a playoff spot—not direct qualification yet—and they're tied with Chile and Venezuela with a goal difference of 16:18. Only Argentina has scored more. Given the shaky results lately (that 3-0 loss to Argentina and getting hammered 4-1 by Bolivia), they absolutely have to win this if they want to stay in the hunt. Honestly, with this current roster, they deserve better than fifth...
Anyway, Paraguay has conceded 16 goals while only scoring 6. I wouldn't be surprised if the US, led by their top strikers, puts up at least two. They look solid right now.

Argentina-Venezuela: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.4 @ SS

Argentina has hit the over in four of their last five games. They've been scoring plenty (20 total) and keeping things tight defensively (only 7 conceded). Venezuela’s goal difference is 8:9, which might make people hesitate on the over, but Argentina is looking complete—no major injuries or suspensions. Even though they have a nice cushion—three points ahead of second and four ahead of third—they can't afford any slip-ups with so many rounds left. A dominant home win would basically seal their ticket to the World Cup. Expect them to come out aggressive and just bury Venezuela...

USA vs. Mexico: USA Win @ 1.7 @ SS

The US squad is significantly stronger than Mexico's, especially with players who can change a game in an instant. There's definitely pressure on the Americans, but these guys play big matches constantly in the Champions League and international play. Both the attack and defense are in great shape. Goal difference is 6:2 for the US versus 6:5 for Mexico, which shows their defense is pretty shaky—once they concede, they tend to fall apart. Plus, playing at home gives them that extra edge. Our boys will be giving 200%...

Spain-Finland: Spain -1 & Over 2.5 goals @ 1.45 @ SS

Not gonna beat around the bush. Spain is at full strength, and I expect them to run circles around Finland. The Finns aren't great, and teams like that usually get crushed by top-tier sides. Seems obvious... good value since the handicap odds are a bit low.

A brief word of advice for everyone: I would suggest holding off on betting against the US national team for now, as they are almost certainly going to be a heavy favorite this Friday, which should push the odds to at least 1.80

Varese-Novara over 2.10

Both these squads are having a pretty decent run this season—especially Varese, since they're sitting right in that playoff hunt sweet spot currently.
Novara is also chasing one of those playoff spots. They stumbled out of the gate this year, so yeah, they've got some catching up to do, but if they keep playing with the same energy they've shown lately, they aren't going to miss out on the postseason.
Novara runs a 4-3-3 setup, and man, they haven't tasted defeat in 7 straight matches... plus they've found the back of the net in every single one of those games. That's a hell of a streak.
Looking at the last 6 matchups between these two, goals have been flying in on both sides, and 4 of them ended in a draw.
The first time they met earlier this season, it was a 1-1 split over in Novara.
Varese is a beast at home, averaging over 3 goals per game, while Novara averages about 2.8 when they're on the road.
The visitors are dealing with some serious lineup issues, especially in the backline—they're missing their keeper Bardi, defenders Bastrini and Colombo, and midfielders Seferovic and Parravicini.
On top of that, the visitors won't have Mehmeti available in the attack either.
As for the home side, they're missing Fiamozzi, Lazaar, and Oduamadi in defense, along with mids Corti and Zecchin.
The strikers on both sides are absolutely cooking right now; Varese has only failed to score in two home games, and Novara has been on fire recently.
They’re undefeated in 2013, and right now in the second division, they're easily among the top 3 teams in terms of pure momentum.
Maybe the visitors are actually the favorites here because they've been playing so well, putting them closer to a win, but the home team is notoriously efficient when they're playing on their own turf.
Again, I'm looking at the goal lines, though I can't quite nail down which exact scenario plays out... I don't know. The home team should definitely find the net at least once, and honestly, it would be a massive shock if the visitors didn't score given how much they've been ripping it lately.

I'm taking the over 2.10, the odds are too good to pass up.

LA Galaxy vs. Columbus Crew Over 2.5 goals, 1.80

The home side is absolutely tearing it up at the top of the table—they’re basically locks to make a deep run in the playoffs this year... if they stay healthy.
When they’re playing at home, they are freaking unstoppable. Seriously, they've only dropped two draws all season, everything else is just straight wins.
They’re averaging about 2.5 goals per match, and honestly, you can almost bank on them putting two past the keeper whenever they’re on their own turf.
Looking back at their last 10 home games? Eight of those matches ended with 3 or more goals. It’s a total bloodbath out there.

Now, the visitors are fighting for a playoff spot, sure, but let's be real—their recent form has been pretty pathetic.
In their last five away trips, Columbus has managed one win, two draws, and two losses. Not exactly a powerhouse performance.
They’ve struggled to find the net, too—only scoring in two of those games, though both of those matches did end up being high-scoring affairs.
Their head-to-head history is kind of wild... they haven't met super often, but every single time they have, it’s been an absolute goal fest with 3+ goals.

This season, whenever these two meet, the home team has walked away with the points...
Columbus won it 3:2
LA Galaxy crushed them 4:0

At the end of the day, LA Galaxy is the better squad here, and they are going to be hungry for a win to keep that momentum going.
The team right behind them in the standings is only two points back, so anything less than a win for the visitors is going to feel like a massive setback... which, frankly, looks pretty likely given how they've been playing lately.
I don't see any reason why the home team won't find the back of the net at least twice—maybe even three or more like last time—and part of me is secretly hoping the visitors can actually pull something together and grab at least one goal.

There should be plenty of action in this one. I'm feeling really good about the Over...

Who exactly is stepping onto the pitch for Brazil today? Seriously though—does anyone have their confirmed lineup for this match? Italy is coming off that runner-up finish in the Euros—and honestly, if they’d had a coach with a bit more defensive grit, they would've walked away with the trophy—so they are absolutely fired up for games like this.

What’s even the point of betting on a win or a loss in games like this? Honestly, if you absolutely have to play them, the only move that makes sense is going for both teams to score and hitting the over... just go for the 3+ goal line and hope for the best...
