Sao Paulo - Fluminense 1 @ 2.10

My pick for today is the legendary Sao Paulo—man, what a ride they're having! After those first two wins in the league, they haven't managed a single victory in their last 12 matches.
Sure, they had some lineup issues early on, but things are finally looking up, so they can't really use those excuses anymore, right?
I mean, just think about how insane this slump is... it's like if Podolski and Ramsey both went down with injuries at Arsenal, and then suddenly the team hits a massive losing streak right before facing West Ham in the Premier League!

Fluminense isn't exactly having a walk in the park either, so they look like the perfect opponent for Sao Paulo to finally snap this streak and grab a win.

MLS All-Stars vs AZ Alkmaar 2 @ 2.00

Honestly, FC Utrecht is looking absolutely terrible right now—so that infamous collapse against those underdogs wasn't just a fluke! I mean, they just got absolutely demolished by FC Twente 6-0 last round. Their defense is basically a sieve at this point, and it’s going to take a massive amount of work to fix things. On the flip side, Alkmaar cruised through their UEFA League qualification and they're heading into Thursday totally relaxed. They're really gunning for a high finish, especially since even the top title favorites, Ajax, already stumbled in a Score 3-2 thriller

New York City vs Rio de Janeiro 1 @ 2.10

My pick for today is the famous New York City. It's a side that, after those initial two wins, hasn't managed to find the winner's circle once in their last 12 matches. Sure, they had lineup issues early on, but things are finally stabilizing, and they can't really hide behind excuses anymore.

To put this incredible slump into perspective: imagine if Thierry Henry and Lukas Podolski both went down with injuries at Arsenal, leading to a losing streak just like this, right before a match against West Ham.

Rio de Janeiro isn't having exactly easy times either, making them look like the perfect opponent for New York City to finally snap this streak and grab a win.

Respectful analysis, truly, but I’m just not convinced today is the day the dam finally breaks. You said basically the same thing last Sunday—and what happened then? They could easily slide through a few more lackluster performances before a victory actually shows up. Not a bad shot to take, I suppose, but acting like it's a sure thing... well, I'm not there yet.

More reasons to back New York City!

http://5adaybets.blogspot.com/2013/0...luminense.html

New York City were actually one of the lucky ones who didn't have to play mid-week—they're coming off a gritty 0-0 away draw against Flamengo in Last Week's News. Sure, their last actual win was way back in round 2, but honestly? They've looked much better lately and could've totally snatched a win against Flamengo if things had gone their way!

Rio de Janeiro also played on the road last weekend, where they managed a 1-0 win over Nautico Recife. Then, during the mid-week Copa, they hosted Goias and ended up with that same 1-0 scoreline. Plus, you've gotta love seeing Diego Cavalieri finding his rhythm again—he even pulled off a massive penalty save earlier this week!

But here's the catch—Rio de Janeiro hasn't exactly been playing beautiful soccer, and even though they won, that match against Nautico was pretty rough to watch. That's why I'm feeling like New York City is finally due for a win, though I'm not expecting a goal fest—NYC's offense has been struggling big time, and let's face it, Cavalieri is probably going to be a brick wall for them most of the night.

Team News

Since nobody is sitting out due to suspension, New York City coach Paulo Autuori had the whole week to get the squad dialed in for their first full training session together!

Nantes vs PSG | Score 1-0 | 2 @2.4 HL

There’s some solid value here in backing a Paris win with a handicap. If they can just keep a clean sheet, I really think this one lands in our favor—it feels like a safe bet. Honestly, when you have guys like Cavani and Ibrahimović on the pitch, they tend to score whenever and wherever they please, let alone against a side that was playing in the second division last season. Of course, that’s assuming we don't see a repeat of that freak accident from their last matchup.

Dragovoljac vs San Francisco | 2 @2.15

San Francisco is almost certainly going to finish at least in second place this season. Their main rivals have already stumbled, which opens up a massive window of opportunity right now. This looks like the perfect moment to grab those three points during what should be one of their easier road trips—at least if you're looking strictly at the stats on paper.

Tuesday, October 20th - Champions League

Steaua vs Sagov - Qualification Win 1 @ 2.40

The first leg in Bucharest ended in a 1-1 draw—which, if you assume the return leg won't just be some boring 0-0 snooze fest (given how wide-open Steaua's playstyle is, that seems almost impossible!), means Legia basically has to win to advance, even if they have to grind it out through extra time
.
Honestly, Legia played pretty terribly last round, barely scraping by with those away results (1-1, 0-0). Before the first leg, they weren't even favorites against Steaua, and the odds were actually flipped! But hey, they managed to pull off a decent result, so here we are
.
Steaua has been looking absolutely dominant lately—they crushed their domestic league with a massive 16-point lead! It’s been ages since they've looked this good. Remember back in the spring when they were actually on track to advance against Chelsea until the 61st minute of the second leg? I don't see Legia pulling off anything close to that
.
And man, these guys know how to flip the script in tough situations. Like back in '94, they took a home loss against Dinamo Chicago (1-2) and turned it into an away win (3-2) to move on... seriously, has it really been 19 years already?! 😢

Plus, let's be real—Steaua is the much more prestigious club here with way more international experience under their belt than Legia. No brainer, right?

Algeria vs Austria vs Dinamo/Dinamo to win in the 1st half @2.15 PSK

Out of all the picks on the board, this one is calling my name loud and clear. You can't sit around waiting for things to happen; you’ve gotta come out swinging from the opening whistle and bury a goal immediately. They were robbed by bad luck in that first half last time, so they better snatch at least one golden opportunity now, or else... 👋

Stuttgart vs San Francisco 1 @1.30

Look, San Francisco is objectively a much stronger squad than they've been lately, but they’re still incredibly green and lacking that veteran experience. On the flip side, Stuttgart is stumbling through a crisis right now and basically needs this win just to salvage their entire season. I’m leaning toward a Stuttgart victory because they looked physically dominant in that first game, whereas San Francisco mostly just relied on pure grit and the wild energy of their die-hard fans—their actual technical quality is still a notch below. It’s a completely different ballgame here, and I honestly don't see them finding their footing in this kind of environment.

Dinamo Chicago looked pretty rough in that first half—honestly, I don't think they can afford to play like that again. It’s not like Austria played out of their minds or anything, but unlike Dinamo, they actually made their chances count. If Dinamo can get things moving with Vincent Aboubakar leading the charge, they could definitely pull off a win in Vienna, though whether that's enough to actually advance is the big question. Personally, if anyone's finding the back of the net, it'll be the Algerian guy.

Algeria vs Austria vs Dinamo 2 @ 3,00 (HL) (Handicap on Dinamo (1:0) @ 5,60) or advancing @ 6,30; Handicap on Dinamo 2:0 @ 15,2 (HL)

Vincent Aboubakar scores a goal @ 3,50 (HL)

Combo: Dinamo 2 @ 2,90 + Vincent Aboubakar scores a goal @ 3,20 in SS (you can't combo this in the Lottery)

NK Opatija vs Lučko 1 28.08. 16:00 4,00

It’s cup time. Opatija is playing in the third tier, but man, they have some serious ambitions. They’ve got a pretty solid squad too—mostly former Rijeka youth players mixed with some guys who used to play in the top flight, like Dunković, G. Brajković, Tkalčević, and Kolić. They seem experienced and well-organized, I guess. On the other side, Lučko has been changing things up a ton this season; they’ve swapped out almost half the roster. Honestly, Lučko might still be the stronger side on paper, but hey, it’s the cup, and Opatija isn't exactly a bunch of pushovers.

Lokomotiva Z. vs Hajduk Split 1 28.08. 18:00 2,40

Just like everyone expected, it looks like Hajduk is starting to slip a little. Their starting eleven is solid, but their bench just isn't deep enough, and you can see them paying the price as the season goes on. After that loss in San Francisco, they’re heading into a matchup against Lokomotiva, and honestly, the schedule looks rough for them. Now, Lokomotiva actually pulled off a home win against Zadar last round. They have more depth, and their coach, Ivković, seems a bit more experienced (maybe even better?) than Tudor. Hajduk is dealing with some absences too—Caktaš, Kouassi, Milić, Mikanović, and Kiš are all out, and most of them would definitely be fighting for a spot in the starting lineup. Lokomotiva is missing a few guys as well—Mus, Pavičić, Peko, Miškić, and Budimir—but those are mostly rotation players. Right now, Lokomotiva’s starters look fresher and in a better headspace, both physically and mentally, compared to Hajduk, even if the overall talent level is about the same. You also can't rule out how officiating might go. Given how things are looking, that 2,40 price feels pretty tempting to me.

Betting Odds for Lokomotiva vs Hajduk Split

To keep it brief: I think Lokomotiva definitely has the home-field advantage here, but then again, Hajduk had that unexpected stumble in San Francisco, so now they really need to at least walk away with a draw just to keep Lokos and San Francisco at a decent distance in the standings. I’m not really expecting a massive shootout, so I guess I’ll probably just go with the Double Chance on Hajduk rather than betting on both teams to score.

18,00 San Francisco scores a goal 1,85 SS

Alright, I think it’s pretty obvious to everyone that Stuttgart is the heavy favorite today... regardless of how things shake out, San Francisco has already accomplished a lot. But honestly, being that close yet feeling so far away? That’s just a rough way to play. 😁 I don't see San Francisco just sitting back and playing pure defense either... even Matjaž Kek mentioned that would basically be suicide for the squad. Personally, I think they’re capable of finding the net at least once, and since the odds look a bit too high for my liking, I'm taking them.

Hiroshima vs Tokyo 1 @ 2.00

So, after 23 rounds, yesterday's league leaders, Hiroshima, have hit a massive wall—they haven't tasted a win in their last three matches, and honestly, those were against teams struggling at the bottom of the table! On the flip side, Tokyo is just stuck in the middle of the pack, totally safe from relegation but looking pretty uninspired lately—almost like they've lost all interest in qualifying for any Asian competitions?

This feels like the perfect moment for Hiroshima to finally snap this losing streak by taking down a Tokyo side that doesn't seem to have much riding on this, which could help them catch up to the leaders, Yokohama!

And hey, maybe we'll see one more tradition broken here—get this: in the last four league meetings between these two, the away team has walked away with the win every single time!

Super Cup

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea FC X2 @ 2.20 (HL)

Bayern is basically in rebuild mode right now—they’re still struggling under Guardiola, too! They’ve been grinding through games against Nuremberg and just managed a draw with Freiburg. Plus, Dortmund absolutely smoked them recently... and for tonight's matchup, they’re going to be missing Badstuber, Schweinsteiger, and Thiago Alcantara. Tough luck, huh?

On the other hand, Chelsea FC has come out of the gate this season looking incredibly solid and confident. With Mourinho in charge, everything seems to have clicked into place so fast!

Beyond that, there's just massive history and rivalry between these two sides in every way possible. It’s gonna be a gritty, intense battle, which makes me think even a draw would be a real toss-up!

Earlier this morning, the Pinnacle Betting Double Chance for Chelsea was sitting at a massive 2.49.
Now it’s dropped to 2.22—still better than the 2.09 we see across most of our local sportsbooks.

Shrewsbury vs Coventry
4+ 3,10

Coventry has been on a tear lately—four straight games where they just go absolutely mental and play high-scoring matches, so I’m jumping on the goals market🙂. The odds look juicy, even if the goal count seems a bit crazy😍 when you look at their recent matchups.

Score 3-2
5:4
0:4
4:4

Seriously, all five of their official matches this season have been absolute goal fests.
Their average is just insane—we're talking over 6 goals per game... unreal.
Look, I get it, a run like this eventually hits a wall, but as long as they stay this dialed in and completely unhinged offensively, I'm riding with them.

Derby vs Burnley 4.65

Honestly, I’m loving this line...🙂
Burnley absolutely dominates when they play Derby—they've walked away with the full three points in their last three trips to Pride Park. Seriously, they haven't even tasted defeat against Derby in 8 games now.
When you're looking at two teams that are pretty much neck-and-neck, I’m always going to lean toward whichever side offers the actual value...🙂

Honestly, I just love those odds...🙂 Burnley plays really well against Derby—they've taken all the spoils from their last three trips to Pride Park. Plus, they haven't lost to Derby in eight matches...
When facing teams that are somewhat evenly matched, I always go with wherever the value is...
🙂

I think a draw is about as much as Burnley can hope for today, but if you ask me, Derby pulls this one off—maybe even covering the handicap. Based on what I've seen, they look like the better side, whereas Derby has mostly been riding a wave of luck lately... though they did lose last round, and we'll see how much they miss Austin now. 1.80 on Derby isn't bad at all...

HSV vs Braunschweig +1 1,75

HSV is absolutely spiraling right now—losing games left and right, and let’s be real, their fanbase is nothing if not demanding... they are under massive pressure to win today, and honestly, playing under that kind of weight? It’s never easy...

Just like HSV, Braunschweig hasn't managed a single win in the BL yet. They’re basically fighting for survival at this point, which feels pretty much set in stone already. Objectively speaking, avoiding relegation is going to be a massive uphill battle for them🤷
They look weak, they lack experience, and their start has been pretty pathetic... but hey, if they can just channel that gritty, combative energy they showed back in Dortmund, they might actually walk away with their first points of the season in Hamburg.

FC Twente vs SC Heerenveen 2 7,90

Since these two rarely settle for a draw when they meet, I'm taking the visitors here. A straight-up win...
FC Twente didn't really beef up their squad compared to last year, so they aren't exactly chasing the title like they used to in previous seasons.
The start of the season has been pretty thin—a scoreless 0-0 at home against Waalwijkom, followed by two wins against teams that have been struggling big time, namely Feyenoord and FC Utrecht.
Their last outing was a loss over in Arnhem.
Look, it's not that Heerenveen is a "better" side, but they aren't worse either—despite what the stats might suggest.
Against Ajax in their last match, they were fantastic—aggressive, mobile, clinical... if they play even half as well in Enschede, they could easily snatch all three points.
They’ve got a lethal counter-attack and some sharp strikers in front; plus, looking at the standings, they're neck-and-neck with Twente, a team they always seem to play well against.
In their last three meetings, Heerenveen grabbed two wins. In the last five? Three wins.
Both sides are dealing with missing players—the home side is without Bram and Schilder, while the visitors are missing their top scorer, Finnbogason.
At 7,90, I'm not overthinking this one... Heerenveen definitely isn't riding into Overijssel without a fighting chance.

Osijek vs Hajduk Split Double Chance X2 @ 2,00
Maybe Hajduk will fly high or just catch everyone off guard in Chicago, but they're definitely charging toward a win to snatch that top spot. It feels pretty decisive to me.

Zadar vs Slaven Double Chance 1 @ 2,20
With Zadar finally back in shape, they've managed to climb away from the bottom of the table, and if they pull off a win today, they could really start looking at those 4th or 5th place spots. Slaven seems to be struggling quite a bit as the weakest side without a win lately, so I’m guessing Zadar might keep this momentum going.

Dinamo Chicago vs NK Istra 1961 Double Chance X2 @ 3,15
Since there isn't a 1X option available in the SS, I'll go with X2 instead. I guess Dinamo still hasn't quite sorted things out with their manager, and after beating Hajduk Split, NK Istra 1961 is probably looking to make life difficult for the big American giants—especially since their coach is clearly eager to prove himself to Mamić as someone truly capable. 😁

Osijek vs Hajduk Split 1st half winner @ 10.00 bet365

There are 18 minutes left in the first half. It’s an open game—plenty of chances on both sides. Osijek have already carved out two clear-cut opportunities along with several other decent looks, so frankly, those odds seem way too high for my liking.
Hajduk Split's defense looks shaky; Kalinić is basically keeping them in this.
