Phew, I think I’m finally starting to settle down a little bit 🙂. To be honest, I was actually terrified for a moment that the damage might be permanent, especially since the surgery felt so incredibly long and intense. It really took it out of me. Right now, everything just feels... muted. I can't even catch a whiff of my favorite perfume when I spray it on, and things like garlic or cinnamon—nothing at all. Since I’m someone who genuinely lives for good food and loves being surrounded by nice scents, it’s been such a strange, frustrating void to deal with 😢
.

p.s. Even though I dealt with that deviation, I actually had a really sharp sense of smell before this
.
stormyharbor2—how long did it take for things to clear up for you? About two months, right?

Tony Stark.

Honestly, reading all this nonsense about scent profiles and preferences makes me want to just throw in the towel 😳
though I suppose I’ll end up making the switch sooner or later anyway. So, go ahead, keep telling yourselves how amazing your noses are and how happy you all feel. 🤣

Sophia Hill22 said:mistyeagle4 - I'm actually hearing about this for the first time - is that supposed to be a permanent side effect? And does it only happen with that specific closed type of procedure?

My skin is looking pretty rough right now and feels super oily, but honestly, I've barely washed my face at all over the last week, so I'm hoping it's just temporary.

Most of the people commenting on these issues are those who had their surgery less than a year ago, so I really don't know if it's a lasting thing... At first, I assumed it was just an issue for women who are older and dealing with loss of skin elasticity, but then I saw a few posts from people in their twenties, which definitely made me worry.

But look, I hate my nose so much that I’m going through with the surgery regardless of any potential side effects 😁 ... I was just curious if anyone else had dealt with stuff like this.

Honestly, reading all this drama about nose shapes and scent issues makes me want to just throw in the towel entirely 😳
but let’s be real—I’m probably going to end up doing it sooner or later anyway, so you might as well just keep posting about how gorgeous your noses look and how happy you are 🤣

Look, it doesn't work out the same way for everyone, so don't assume your outcome is already decided.
It's exactly like when you pick up a prescription and start reading the fine print on the side effects... suddenly you feel like you're about to pass out, even though you're perfectly fine. They have to list that stuff. It's the same deal with people complaining about complications from nose surgery... they're the ones making noise. The people who had a flawless experience? They don't bother posting anything 😁(and trust me, there are way more of them than the ones dealing with setbacks)

I didn't eat anything for the first five days—well, I ate enough to stay alive, but nothing actually had any taste or smell. It’s been about a month now...

Hey everyone!
I’ve been following this thread from the very beginning... so, yeah.
I've been thinking about getting a nose job for about ten years now. I'm 26, and honestly, I've mostly made peace with how I look... but then I see my profile and I just don't recognize myself. From the front, I'm fine, but I have a bump and the base is a bit wide. For years, my inner circle has been telling me I don't need it—that I'm beautiful and that my nose actually gives me character, blah blah blah. My boyfriend won't shut up about it either, but I just can't get past it. To be honest, my biggest hurdles are being terrified of the surgery itself and having absolutely no clue what the end result will actually look like. About six years ago, I even went in for a consultation with Glumicic, and he seemed okay. He suggested removing the bump and lifting the tip a bit, which I'm actually hesitant about because I don't want it to look too pointy. After reading through all your posts, Dr. Bastaic really stood out to me, so I'd love to hear any experiences or impressions you have regarding him... I actually have this photo from before puberty when my nose was small and straight 😍 and that's exactly how I'd love it to look after the procedure. 🤷
The hardest part is just making the decision to go through with it at all.

rustygardener172 honestly, that’s exactly what I was looking for—just a little bit of encouragement to help me stay calm 🙂
And if you listen to what mistyeagle4 😂
is saying... I mean, I can't say I disagree; I absolutely loathe my own... so I guess we'll just have to find a way to survive the fallout

I can finally smell things again! Oh my gosh, it feels amazing

And I just washed my hair too, which was such a relief 😍

Dana Wood26—Bastaic is honestly doing such an incredible job; it’s like he’s on a personal mission to fix everyone's sense of smell 🙂 and he’s definitely been keeping busy with a massive caseload lately 🙂

I’ll make sure to send you some photos once I finally crash

P.S. I heard a little rumor that Glumicic doesn't actually perform half of those surgeries himself. Apparently, he acts more like the manager and the face of the clinic while hiring out the actual surgical work to other specialists

Oh, and word on the street is that he might not even be an ENT specialist? Now, I’m just repeating what I’ve heard—it could all just be gossip—but maybe if you end up going there, you could ask if he’s the one actually operating 😉

As for Tony Stark, I’ve heard nothing but great things about him, though again, I haven't heard it directly from anyone who's been through it 🤷

I’ve been weighing the idea of getting a nose job for about ten years now. I’m 26, and honestly, I’ve kind of made peace with my nose... but then again, when I look at myself in profile, I don't even recognize who I am. From the front, I’m fine, I guess. There's just a bump, and the base is a bit wide. I’m terrified of the surgery itself, and I have absolutely no clue what the end result will actually look like. About six years ago, I even went in for a consultation with Glumicic, and he seemed alright. He suggested removing the bump and lifting the tip slightly, which isn't really what I want—I'm worried it would look too pointy, and that’s definitely not the vibe I’m going for. After reading through everything here, Dr. Bastaic really caught my eye, so please, tell me your experiences or impressions... basically, I have this one photo from before puberty where my nose was small and straight😍 and that’s exactly how I wish it looked after the procedure....🤷
Making the final call to actually do it is the hardest part.

I know exactly how you feel... it's the same story with me, except for me, I look fine from the profile but not from the front. And people tell me the same thing—that I don't need it, that my nose gives me "uniqueness"... but I just can't stand looking at myself.🙄
I’d love to find some before-and-after photos from Dr. Bastaic's patients, but I haven't been able to track any down... Zambelli seemed interesting, but I'm not sure if he uses closed techniques. And Tony Stark seems okay, too.
And yeah... I am a total chicken! :P

It seems like my sense of smell was the one thing I didn't have an issue with. Honestly, everything came back to normal the second my tampons were out. But now, something else is bothering me, and I wanted to see if any of you have dealt with this. My incision basically "bloomed" about ten days ago, and since then, it’s been inflamed and just won't settle down. Has anyone else gone through this?
And how long were you all sleeping on your backs? I'm getting so bored of it, and my head is actually starting to go numb from staying in the exact same position all night.

I guess I don't quite get why a simple septum deviation surgery is considered so much easier than the ones where you actually have to break bone.

OMG, you’re still sleeping on your back!? Have you even touched your own nose yet?😁 You’re being paranoid—even more than I am. 🤣 😬 😉 I finally started sleeping normally once I got home. I tried the whole back-sleeping thing for a few days, but all I got was muscle soreness and a stiff neck, so I just went back to my old ways...

Has anyone here ever had the chance to get a computer simulation done for their nose? I'm curious to see what they could actually look like after the procedure.

Dana Wood26 — Bastaic, you’re killing me. This guy is on a full-blown mission to upgrade everyone's sense of smell 🙂 and he's clearly putting in the reps. 🙂

I'll send those photos over once I finally crash.

Please, send me those pics! 🙂😁

I know for a fact that the team over at Zambelli offers that kind of tech, but I haven't heard much about anyone else in the business offering it.

Yes, because I read some doctor's website claiming you need to sleep with your head elevated for at least four weeks, so I am following those instructions to the letter. Strictly by the book. 🤣 Luckily, I don't have much longer to go. 😂

Have you even touched your nose yet? You are actually more paranoid than I am. 😁 🤣 😬 😉

Wow, just going to call me out in public like that? 😂 😂
I am making slow progress. I touch the tip and the base, but I am still avoiding the middle part entirely. 🤣

So, what's this about you calling me out in public like that...?

Haha. My bad... 😂 It’s cute how you’re still being all careful with your nosebleed—meanwhile, I’ve already wiped mine out and poked around in there myself... 😬

Can anyone give me the lowdown on what Dr. Bastaic charges? Feel free to just slide into my DMs if you don't want to post it here.
There’s basically zero info online about him—it's a total black hole—but I haven't seen anything bad mentioned on this forum yet, which actually makes me a little suspicious... 🙂
Also, if there’s anyone out there who’s been brave enough to go under the knife with him, would you mind sending some before and after shots—or even just post-op pics—to my PM? I'd seriously appreciate it.🙏
