...it’s officially been 6 months since my surgery. I’ve noticed the "bulbous" tip is finally gone; the swelling has actually subsided at last. During my last checkup, Dr. Glusac mentioned my nose will look even narrower once the bone work settles down... though I’m not seeing that just yet. Honestly, I’m happy with how narrow it is right now. As long as that bulbous tip is history, I'm good. 😍

I'm honestly so happy for you 🙂 but then again, you had a relatively narrow nose to begin with—unlike mine. I have no idea how they're going to fix my situation... mine is seriously massive. Plus, the doctor told me he has to drop the whole thing down... the entire bridge... while lifting the tip. 🤷

I have no clue how they're going to fix my situation... my nose is just straight-up massive... plus, the doctor told me he has to lower the whole thing... the entire length... while lifting the tip🤷

That’s exactly why he didn't touch my tip... he said it was narrow enough already... he actually mentioned that if my nostrils were slimmer, the tip would match mine perfectly... basically said it’d be crazy to mess with something that isn't broken.
If your whole nose is wide... you absolutely have to emphasize that you want them to slim down the tip too... because if they just narrow the bridge and leave the tip alone, the tip is going to look way too chunky for your face once the surgery is done.

Well, it’s fine—the exam isn't painful, which is the main thing 😁 As for the breathing, I've also got at least one nostril constantly blocked. I can manage through my nose during low-effort stuff—like when I'm just hanging out at home, studying, or watching TV. But the second I step outside to run or go for a walk? Mouth breathing is mandatory. It’s like my nose simply can't pull in enough air. :/

Honestly, I should probably just lay this all out for an urologist 😁

Did these issues start right after the surgery, or what?

So, you aren't a fan of Bastasic's noses? Why is that?

My mom took her cast off about three days ago, and obviously everything is still swollen and wide, so I’m not quite ready to give a full opinion yet. That said, she actually told me she thinks my nose looks better than hers.

Even though we used to have pretty similar noses, her hump was always much more pronounced, whereas now our noses look completely different. So, I guess I'm just glad I chose Toncic😁

As for me, I think my nose looks great right now, even though it’s only been five weeks since the procedure. Everything feels exactly how I wanted it, but I’ve noticed this little "bump" right in the middle. I honestly can't tell by touching it if it's just something subcutaneous, like a pimple, or if it's actually part of the bone or something else entirely.😕 I know I read on some Forum where some girls were mentioning something similar happening to them, but I can't quite recall the specifics.
All I know is that it hurts if I press on it even slightly, or when I'm applying foundation with a sponge. I have to carefully tap it instead of rubbing it normally because the pressure really stings.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this?

Fine, fair enough, but personally, I’ve always had a soft spot for smaller, more delicate features...=)

As for me, I am absolutely loving how my nose looks right now; even though it's only been about six weeks, I'm already so happy with the result, but I have noticed this little "bump" right in the middle . I can't tell by touching it if it's just something under the skin, like a small blemish, or if it's part of the bone structure or something else entirely 😕. I know I read somewhere on the Forum that some other girls mentioned experiencing something similar, but I can't quite recall the details.
All I know is that it hurts if I press on it a bit too hard, or even when I'm applying foundation with a sponge; I have to gently tap it instead of sliding the sponge across, otherwise, the pressure is just too much.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this?

Are you talking about the middle of the nasal bridge?

I had something like that after my first surgery—it felt like cartilage, right where the bump used to be, if that's what you mean. It turned out that because the nose had been kept flat by the micro-swelling for so long, once all that swelling finally subsided, it looked like a subcutaneous pimple. I hated it so much, and when I was actually seeing Bastasic, I asked him if there was a risk of it happening again, because I definitely don't want to end up needing a revision surgery like Michael Jackson did. He assured me there was no chance and that it really just comes down to the surgeon's skill.

If it doesn't go away, you should definitely reach out to the office and let them know!

I really hope your mom ends up being satisfied with her results; it hasn't been very long at all. In my case, my nose has already shrunk significantly, and I can see there's still more swelling to go, so I'm just praying it doesn't end up looking too small. 😬

I mean, he actually asked me if I preferred a textured look, so I don't think that's off the table with him either, though you can just tell by looking at his work that he definitely leans toward those smooth, clean lines😁

To each their own, right?

rustygardener172Wait, what exactly do you mean by a rounded tip? I couldn't quite tell from the photos😕

Sophia Hill22 said:Well, he actually asked me if I wanted a bulbous tip, so I suppose that’s an option with him too, though you can tell he's much more of a perfectionist who prefers working with straight lines.

With my mom, her nose is perfectly straight; the tip stayed slightly pointed but it's significantly shortened now. Honestly, I really love it. I much prefer a neat, straight, slightly tapered nose over those bulbous, tiny little tips.

Mine is more rounded right now... at least for the moment, since I can still feel some swelling and numbness at the tip.

It's just something I feel when I touch it—it's bothersome when I run my finger up and down that part of my nose—but you wouldn't even notice it just by looking at me.

Anyway, my follow-up appointment is in about 20 days, so if this hasn't settled down by then, I'll just grill him about everything.

Sophia Hill22 said:rustygardener172 What even is a "ball-shaped tip"? I honestly can't tell what we're looking at from these photos. 😕

Honestly, you could see the shape much better from the profile view than from the front. In my profile shot, my nose has this smooth, rounded look... and while the tip was all swollen up, it actually followed that nice curve perfectly before hitting a little semicircle at the end—kind of like someone tucked a small ball right under the tip. I really hope that makes sense now. Anyway, the swelling has finally gone down, and let me tell you, my profile looks absolutely gorgeous right now! 😍

Nah, not really—I've never actually been on a Forum🙂 But I'm soaking up all the useful info here, so hopefully it helps me decide once I finally go under the knife😁

Picking the right surgeon feels like a massive gamble... honestly, I just want nothing but the best outcomes for everyone currently facing surgery... I'm just crossing my fingers that my own choice turns out to be the right one. 🙂

Mine is more rounded right now... mostly because I can still feel the swelling and numbness at the tip.

It’s just an issue when I touch it; moving my finger up and down over that area feels off. You wouldn't even notice it just by looking.

That was the exact same experience for a relative of mine. She also went to Toncic, and things finally settled into place after six months to a year.🙂😉Don't worry.👍

Just how deep do those tampons actually go? Like, are we talking all the way up to the sinuses?

Yeah—and when you finally pull them out, it honestly feels like they were lodged in your brain...😱

To be real—personally, I think it is. It only lasts a few seconds, but I basically shoved my hand toward him to speed things up. 👍 🤣 It’s not even about how much it hurts, it’s the *type* of pain—it was revolting. My ears started aching and it felt like someone was pulling a hot, long, slimy worm right out of my brain... he actually had to pause for a second so I could catch my breath before he pulled the other one out. Later on, I wouldn't even let him clean my nose because I kept having flashbacks to pulling out tampons, so I'd just instinctively flinch every single time. 😵

Mind you, I see some people here didn't feel a thing at all, so don't go getting offended by my dark sense of humor. 😁

In my case, he just grabbed it with the tweezers and pulled it out in one single motion; it was literally over in a second. It wasn't terrifying... but, well... it's definitely a strange sensation. 😳
