I’m not due for my period until the end of next weekend, but I’ve already started feeling this pain in my right breast. It isn't the whole thing, just the side near my armpit, and if I press on it, the pain is just awful. My nipples were already acting up back during ovulation, and now this specific spot on the right side is killing me. Has anyone else dealt with this? Usually, both sides ache during PMS, but this is the first time it’s just been one side, specifically that spot on the edge...🤷

So, I’m expecting my period in maybe 4 or 5 days...
But get this—for the last 3 or 4 days, I’ve been spotting just a tiny bit. Like, seriously minimal, just a couple of little drops or spots throughout the day.
And honestly? There’s zero pain or anything like that.

What do you guys think could be going on?? 😕

Usually, my cycles are pretty much super regular and predictable.
About three months ago, I actually stopped taking Yasmin (after being on it for about six months).

I’ve already got an appointment booked with my OBGYN for late next week, but I am starting to freak out a little because the uncertainty is just driving me nuts!

Just for context, I have a boyfriend and we have sex regularly.

Please, someone help me out??
Has anyone else ever dealt with something similar??

Thanks so much!!

It sounds like you might have a swollen lymph node. That can happen for plenty of reasons. Even something minor, like a tiny cyst or a basic sore throat, can cause lymph nodes to react and swell up. I’ve actually dealt with a small lump in my pelvic area before; I went to the doctor, and it ended up causing some really painful swelling in my groin area. Most likely, yours is something totally harmless like that. Of course, lymph nodes can swell with more serious issues too. If the pain doesn't clear up in a couple of days, go see a doctor so they can get you checked out properly.

It could be anything from a tiny cyst or a little lump to just a basic sore throat—lymph nodes react to inflammation by swelling up. I’ve dealt with this myself; I had a small lump in my pelvic area once, and after seeing a doctor, it turned out to cause some really painful swelling in my groin lymph nodes. Most of the time, it's nothing serious, and it'll probably be something minor for you too. That said, even with malignant issues, nodes can swell. If the pain doesn't settle down in a few days, you should definitely head to a doctor so they can figure out where you need to go next.

I’ve had swollen lymph nodes under my arms a few times, but never in my breast. My doctor told me then that it would just clear up on its own. I’m hoping it’s the same situation here, but if it doesn't go away, I'll make an appointment with my doctor. Thanks.😉

What kind of protection are you using during intercourse?

We don't actually use any protection—we just pull out way before we're finished...
I'm usually on birth control pills, but I haven't taken anything for the last few months...

I take pills, but I haven't taken anything lately (nothing for the last few months)....

Don't take this as an attempt to scare you, but a friend of mine got pregnant doing the exact same thing and now she has a two-year-old daughter.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that you're pregnant just yet; it could easily be some sort of inflammation or spotting causing that discharge.
That said, there is a distinct possibility you are pregnant—perhaps you're experiencing one of those deceptive "false positive" scenarios, though who can truly say for certain. 🤷
Just take a test in a few days and get some actual answers.

So, I’m still dealing with PMS, and I just noticed one of my glands in my right breast has swollen up. It’s actually pretty painful to touch... and it isn't just some tiny little lump, it feels genuinely large. Hopefully, it’ll just settle down once my period finally arrives.
I remember having this happen before where the glands under my armpit would swell up and get sore, but my doctor told me there was nothing to worry about since it's a common thing to deal with right before my cycle starts.
I'm assuming it's the same thing this time around...

If you trust your doctor and you've dealt with this before, it’s probably nothing serious, though it sounds a bit weird to me.🤷

Hey ladies,
I’ve got a question that might sound a bit stupid and is probably just a theoretical "what if" scenario.
So, I'm on Clomid therapy. During my follicle scan on day 12 of my cycle, the doctor saw three follicles ready to go, basically popping every 48 hours or so. Doc says everything looks perfect and we're good to go. My husband and I have been staying busy—very busy—trying to make it happen. But then, on day 33, my period shows up.
Here’s my thought: Is it actually possible to have a period even if one egg was fertilized while the other two weren't? Like, could I somehow be pregnant even though I'm bleeding?
I haven't seen anyone talk about this online, so it might be a dumb question, but I'm curious.
THANKS!!!

I actually had a breast ultrasound during my twelfth month of pregnancy, and everything came back perfectly fine...

Look, I don't feel like scrolling through every single thread just to find an answer... I started getting this "period" on day 18 of my cycle (and I’m putting that in quotes because it's so light I'm literally just using thin liners), and it's been going on for 8 days now at this exact same intensity. Just to be clear, by my usual schedule, I shouldn't even expect my actual period for another two days
Honestly, I really don't have the energy to drag myself back to the doctor right now, so I'm just waiting to see how things play out over the next few days, but in the meantime—has anyone else dealt with something like this?

It’s been going on for eight days now at this same low intensity, and mind you, by my usual math, I shouldn't even be due for another two days (day 28). Everything showed up perfectly fine on my ultrasound six months ago, and my Pap smear was clear too...

I went through something almost identical about a week ago; my spotting started on day 18, even though my cycle usually runs about 35 days😲so, yeah, 18 days early. Except for me, it felt like a standard period and then it just stopped. Last month was actually incredibly light, much like what you're describing, and that one arrived five days ahead of schedule...🤷So, last month it was five days early and barely there, but this month it's seventeen days early and feels more like a regular duration. I haven't made it to the clinic yet either, mostly because I just can't bring myself to go... I'm just sitting here hoping I don't have to deal with this all over again in ten days.🙄

These pills are driving me insane. I’m honestly wondering what shape they’ll even arrive in, and I need them by the 12th or 13th 🙄 meanwhile, I’m getting these constant sharp pains in my pelvic area... just thrilled about these recurring gynecological issues. I see my doctor more often than I see my own family 😲 it’s getting exhausting having to run back to her clinic every single time 🤷

Stress🤷
(I'm super consistent with my OBGYN appointments—once a year, always on schedule, and I never skip the ultrasound...🤣... last time was just six months ago and everything checked out perfectly... ugh, this is so frustrating...😠)

I have spent an exhaustive amount of time scouring the internet for information regarding menstrual irregularities, but much of the available data is so overwhelming that it serves only to induce anxiety rather than clarity. I have a specific inquiry. I was on Yasmin for fourteen months and stopped seven months ago; however, since December, my cycle has been entirely unpredictable. My period was due at the beginning of December, but it didn't arrive until late February, and I haven't seen anything since. I am struggling to determine if my body is simply recalibrating its rhythm or if these pills have caused lasting physiological disruption. When the delay first occurred, I spiraled into a panic—taking five different pregnancy tests and visiting my OB-GYN. Naturally, I wasn't pregnant, but the doctor prescribed more medication, which I am hesitant to take because, once again, we are dealing with hormones. While my flow has remained normal thus far, the fact that my cycles are now skipping is concerning. Furthermore, I never struggled with PMS, but lately, the mood swings have been maddening; I find myself oscillating between tears and laughter out of sheer frustration. It is a total mess. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Correction of an inaccurate statement: my last period actually occurred at the end of the first month.
