So, I have a quick question. My period isn't even supposed to start for another 10 days or so. But last night, I noticed a tiny bit of spotting. I honestly thought my period was just coming early, but today there's nothing left—it's like it never even happened. Why does this happen? Could it be stress, maybe some kind of inflammation, or something else entirely? And is there any chance it could be pregnancy?

Thanks so much in advance 🙂

Hey everyone, I need some advice. On March 24th, my period finally showed up after being about 10 days late, but it was way lighter than usual. Then, on April 24th—exactly when my next one was due since I’m usually on a 30-day cycle—I got this brown, almost black discharge that lasted four days. My actual period followed right after. Since then, I’ve been dealing with all those classic PMS symptoms: ovary and abdominal pain, lower back aches, sore breasts, pelvic pressure, and headaches. It’s been going on for a few days now. We’ve used the withdrawal method for about four years and it’s worked fine so far, but I decided to take a pregnancy test just to be sure, and it was negative. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any idea what might be going on? Thanks.

Kimberly Thompson56 said:My periods are usually super regular—heavy, lasting about 6 days... This time, it arrived right on schedule, but it’s incredibly light. For the first two days, it was barely there—nothing at night—and for the next two days, I’m only seeing spotting when I go to the bathroom. This isn't normal for me; I've had a regular cycle for over 10 years without any issues. My pregnancy test was negative, but I'm dealing with intense headaches and nausea.
Anyone have thoughts?

I'm in a similar boat, though mine was just a few days late and I haven't had the headaches or nausea. It feels weird because my cycle has always been predictable—ten years is a long time to suddenly have a shift.😕

I have a bit of a situation here. Please forgive me if I’m slightly off-topic,
but if anyone has any advice, I would be incredibly grateful!
Last August, I suffered a miscarriage due to a Mycoplasma infection.
I’ve had several tests since then to clear it up, but nothing seems to work... that stubborn thing just won't go away.
Last week, I had to see my OBGYN because I started bleeding unexpectedly—my period arrived much earlier than it was supposed to. She prescribed me Duphaston tablets and Folic acid.
She mentioned I can start the Folic acid immediately, but I should wait until day 15–25 of my cycle to begin the Duphaston.
There is one thing I am uncertain about. Should I continue taking the Folic acid during my period, or should that be paused as well? And what has your experience been like with these medications?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for years now, but we haven't had any luck yet...
I am truly hoping that this Folic acid makes a difference.!🙂 Thank you all so much for any help you can provide!

So, my guy and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now, and honestly? Nothing's happening. We just can't seem to make it stick.
I’m honestly just hoping this Folic acid actually does something.🙂 Thanks to everyone who helped out, even just a little bit!

Don't bother stopping your folic acid just because you're on your period. It’s basically just a B vitamin, so I guess there's really no big deal.

Hello, I am 19 years old, and up until now, my cycles have been quite "regular" and predictable. What is worrying me is how things look this month. It felt like my period started yesterday, but the bleeding is incredibly light—barely enough to fill a small pad. I haven't experienced any pelvic pain, and I’ve also had my usual symptoms, so I suppose nothing really makes sense to me right now. Has anyone else here gone through something similar? I guess I'm wondering if I should be concerned or if I ought to make an appointment with my doctor.
Thanks

I need some serious advice here! I have to get my hair dyed tomorrow, but I just realized—literally moments ago—that my period started today. What on earth am I supposed to do now??😕

I haven't seen any updates on this lately... It’s hard to say for sure without more info. I'll keep an eye out though... kaže:
Help! I have a massive dilemma... I'm supposed to get my hair dyed tomorrow, but my period just started out of nowhere today. What should I do??😕

I'm completely lost on this one... 😕

What does that even have to do with anything...? 😁 I’ve dealt with my period for about six or seven years now, and I’ve always washed my hair while on my cycle. It’s never caused me any issues... You should stop worrying. 😍

By the way... I am absolutely dying... 🙂 🙂 My period was a month and a half late, and I’ve noticed that whenever there’s a delay like this, the cramps always seem to hit harder... 😬

If I had my way, I’d just sleep through those four or five days... 🙂

Honestly, what does washing your hair have to do with having your period? 😕

I wanted to reach out and ask you all...

My periods have been lasting only about three days lately, so I’m planning on heading to my OB-GYN for a checkup,
but since I recently had sex—though it wasn't full penetration—I’m wondering how she’ll actually
perform the exam, and specifically whether I should be upfront about having been intimate or just leave it at that?
Any advice? 🙂

From what I can gather, she was asking if she could dye her hair while on her period, and since you have to wash your hair after dyeing it... 😁 I actually have a few friends who wouldn't touch hair soap for five or six days until their cycle finished 🙂 I've never seen any connection between the two, but clearly, they see one 🤣

And they still think they're right 😂

Hey, I'm new here and could really use some advice... My boyfriend finished inside me a few days ago, and we were right in the middle of my fertile window. Now, my period showed up five days earlier than expected. Should I be worried?

What else could be causing my period to skip (besides pregnancy)?

I’m definitely not pregnant, and stress isn't even an issue. My cycles have been clockwork for 12 years straight, but my last one was May 16th.😲 So yeah, I'm currently on day 42 of my cycle.
I’m planning to hit up the gynecologist tomorrow, but honestly, I don't know if I can make it happen because of my college finals. My doctor is Bokićka over in Chicago, and man, I really need to steel myself and pray for some patience when dealing with her "favorite"🙂 sister, just hoping she'll squeeze me in even though I don't have an appointment. I even thought about seeing her privately, but I'm a broke student, and $167 is way too steep for my budget.

Physically, I feel fine. I had those typical lower abdominal cramps right when my period was supposed to show up, but there was zero spotting or anything. I haven't been sick, pregnancy is off the table, and I'm not even thinking about infections. I stay on top of my Pap smears, and I've been in a committed relationship for 7 years now. No sharp pains, no aches, no fever—nothing that screams "infection" to me.🤷

I'm seriously hoping everything just got thrown out of whack because of how crazy life is lately, and that the doctor will actually see me tomorrow. If not, I'm stuck. It's not exactly healthy to go this long without a period...😢

I wouldn't say I'm stressed... I mean, I just finished my finals, and yesterday was officially the last one ever in my life 👋 plus I’ve got my thesis defense in two weeks, but everything went smoothly. Honestly, I'm stoked about how it turned out, but I'm not feeling the pressure. I've dealt with way heavier stuff than this before, so it's no biggie...

I'm heading to the doctor today and praying they actually see me 🙂, otherwise, I'm totally lost. I did some reading about pills that can kickstart your period if it doesn't show up, but there's no way I'm messing with that without a prescription.

Yeah, you should be worried. That’s literally prime time for getting pregnant, and honestly, acting like that is just irresponsible.🙂 What you're seeing might not even be your period—it could be implantation bleeding from when the embryo settles into the uterus. Either take a pregnancy test right now or go see a doctor. And seriously, be careful in the future. I still remember what my mom told me when I first started getting active: Go ahead and do it, but be ready for anything at any moment, because no form of protection is 100% foolproof.
