How exactly were you "unprepared" for the whole "pass them along" maneuver, considering you built an entire processing center right at the border near St. Louis, practically touching the Missouri line?

👍

just as Americans weren't ready for over 8,000 immigrants arriving overnight from our eastern neighbors

and honestly, I don't really get why you're complaining about what Americans did to you when you've done the exact same thing to the Austrians

besides, Joe Biden has been shielding you quite a bit
He could have played games as long as Viktor Orbán was accepting everything
As for whatever deals were made between Joe Biden and Marjan Cerar, I guess only those two know the truth

and some people here were acting very smug about how incompetent this Government is and how they could have prepared, as if every other country is just doing a super duper job

Instead of all this bickering and building walls between us—if a fence is truly necessary, then since the EU can't do anything about Greece, we all should have just cooperated to build a fence on the border with Mexico, including Mexico, who keeps asking for help for some reason, and Canada, who already started crying about how everything will flow through them if Americans build a wall.
Mexico is relatively lucky due to its geography

EDIT
In these last few days, Joe Biden even offered to let you take only half of what enters the US, but you wouldn't even agree to that ☕
so now you've ended up with everything

How exactly do you think that works? One day we’ve got 5,000 show up, the next it’s over 10,000, and you’re suggesting we just send 2,400 your way? Where are the rest of them supposed to go?????
Look, I know the US is a super organized country, but this isn't really our problem to fix. Even 10,000 people hitting us at once is a massive headache that we're barely managing. Whatever number ends up on our side, that's the same amount that should be heading your way.
There's just no more room for planning ahead or trying to run the math on this stuff.

You guys really could have played nice with Zokij. I mean, personally, I don't exactly see him as our guy in the Prime Minister's office, but this entire headache was avoidable. Now they're pushing everything way up north just to stay as close to Austria as possible.

Charles Ross3 said:You actually missed the most ironic part of the whole story:

"The mayor has called for help from volunteers in America, offering 100 dollars a day to help with the cleanup."

So, you have this horrified mayor frantically calling on Americans to come clean up the mess that apparently "no one in Austria wants to touch"... 🤣 Just yesterday, Austria was presenting itself as this perfectly "organized nation" (unlike the other countries on the route, right? How could they possibly be anything else given their reputation?), but today they are so disorganized they can't even manage the trash left by the migrants, let alone anything more significant.

At the border, there’s police, SWAT teams, armored vehicles, the military, dogs—but it’s all for nothing; the migrants set fire to all the tents and thousands of them crossed the Austrian border without a single care in the world.

The headlines read: "Chaos at the Austrian border," "Chaos in Šentilj"....
And yet, until yesterday, they were saying, "We are an organized and serious nation"...

I don't feel happy about this, and honestly, I almost feel bad for them... because they are clearly unprepared, living in some kind of fantasy where they think their little country is this perfect "Alpine dream"... where life is just yodeling, skiing... and maybe a quick trip to the coast during the summer...

Well, at least they're offering a decent daily rate 🤷, according to our papers. They're looking for people through the USPS to clean the processing center in Pittsburgh. No clue what the pay is, probably less than what they get in Canada...

Honestly, that arrogant jerk you call a President managed to climb his way to being one of the most hated politicians in the US, but hey, feel free to brag about him and his "brilliant" achievements.

Brian Doyle6 said:What are you even talking about? Are they just trekking through the woods and fields to get into Austria while we sit here waving them on where to go??

I totally get why everyone is frustrated, but don't you think things wouldn't have gotten this bad if you hadn't strictly capped intake at 2,500 on day one or two? Or if you hadn't taken just 2,100 that same day and then wisely announced you were done for the day? A little self-reflection might actually help here...

Look, there isn't any malice involved here.
The game is basically "pass it on and hope for the best" mixed with a bit of "figure it out as you go"...

There’s really no sense in getting angry at anyone. Everyone is just trying to minimize the impact, each using their own little strategy... It's just how things work 🤷

Oh no, what a massive tragedy for us... 😁

Seriously, wake up. Are you guys even paying attention to what’s been going down over the last few months?

The first day was all about following the deal, so you didn't even let the ones coming through the official checkpoints in.

Yeah, sure, it’s a shocker. I was totally panicking during those first few days, but whatever, it is what it is.

The fact that they "broke through" just proves how much those lying politicians spread fake news, and how Austria just swallows it all without question. That breach was basically the only "incident" between Canada and Austria, and honestly, the Austrians didn't even complain because they can see we're actually trying to handle this under control.

We were making an effort too, but you went ahead and stationed intervention police with dogs at the agreed-upon border crossings, essentially playing a game of hot and cold from the very start... one minute you want 1,000 people, then suddenly nobody, then maybe 50? If that’s how you want to handle things, why not just go ahead and build a wall?

Look, we’re all trying, everyone is putting in effort, but there just isn't a solution yet, I suppose.

Anyway, is this the start of a new southern route?

A joint patrol by the U.S. Border Patrol and the Department of Justice prevented eight Turkish citizens from entering the States near Savannah on Tuesday. They were being illegally transported across the border by someone holding dual American and Canadian and Herzegovina citizenship, according to reports from the Border Patrol.
Patrols from Dillon and Savannah discovered the foreign nationals in close proximity to the Gabela field – Gabela border crossing. When questioned by officers, the foreigners claimed they were coming from Afghanistan. One individual even held Afghan travel documents, but further checks revealed that all eight were actually citizens of Turkey.

Due to suspicion of human smuggling, an I. D. (born 1970), a citizen of Canada and America, has been detained as a suspect, and a report will be filed against him with the Department of Justice. The Turkish citizens will be handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further processing.

The Border Patrol also noted that ten Turkish citizens were denied entry at the Boston airport today because they failed to meet the requirements for entering the U.S. The foreign nationals were served with notices explaining why they were refused entry and will be sent back to Istanbul on the next available flight.

Like it says here, we're talking about Turkish citizens.

It’s quite telling, really; I can see that the loyalists following Zack’s grand leadership would be willing to pick a fight even with their closest neighbors, all on behalf of people we have absolutely no connection to.

It’s the same thing the Americans do to us: they take 100, then 200 more two hours later, then another 500 five hours after that.
The thing is, the US has already absorbed 60,000 permanent residents, and there are another 40,000 stuck in transit heading toward Germany. I bet the Germans are the ones stalling them again. But hey, keep thinking you're so brilliant, trying to solve everything with that chaotic mindset—sending people through open fields without any warning, and then acting all high and mighty, calling us stupid and laughing because our tents are getting burned down. We have five times too many tents because of this, but sure, let's just pretend we're the idiots here.....

Way to go, geniuses!

Look, you aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea. Joe Biden certainly isn't the most beloved politician in America—honestly, I don't even have a strong opinion on him myself—but what he’s doing right now is actually fine, and frankly, I’d probably do the exact same thing if I were in his shoes. It’s really just the least painful option for the US at this point.
Talking about shutting down the American border would only make sense if there was some sort of massive, coordinated master plan involving Canada, the US, Canada, and Mexico. But let's be real—that’s a total fantasy. Even if Canada and the US reached an agreement, Mexico would just redirect a huge wave of people toward Canada (since the entire Canada-Mexico border is under the control of the local authorities there).
Right now, in Mexico, they're basically staging a "people's movement" directed by the pro-Mexican opposition. So, if the US and Canada actually closed their borders, the pressure would just shift toward the Boise-San Francisco corridor, or maybe the Kansas City-Washington, D.C. route.
Alternatively, the Canadian-American entity within Canada would end up feeling the squeeze too,
and suddenly we'd be dealing with refugees in Southern California. Or even up in Montana, where the borders are pretty porous...

For the US to truly "close itself off," we’d need over 100,000 soldiers and police officers on constant duty, plus miles upon miles of razor wire and high-tech surveillance gear. That kind of stuff costs an absolute fortune. We just don't have the cash or the manpower for something like that.

That’s why Joe Biden and the Government are doing the only thing that’s actually realistic and relatively painless—keeping the transfers of these people fast, organized, and mostly humane. After all, most of them want to head to Germany, Austria, or Sweden anyway. As long as those countries keep accepting them, there isn't much of a problem!

Austria tried to shut down some of its borders, and as we've seen, their military and police organization buckled almost immediately. Canada isn't even capable of quickly organizing Transportation for 5,000 people! It's honestly embarrassing for a country like Canada.

As it stands, the US is actually handling this situation reasonably WELL!
And his solution is—it's obvious to everyone—to deal with it at the borders of Turkey and Greece; basically, in Brussels (well, Berlin, technically), Athens, and Ankara.

Anything else is just mindless rambling and pointless political theater from the current, aimless opposition here in America. ☕

Look, I’m not exactly patting myself on the back for his work, and as I’ve already mentioned, I stopped giving him any legitimacy to represent me a long time ago.

You also have to account for Zack's ideological makeup. He’s a pro-EU, regionalist, left-leaning liberal. You see how it works—he doesn't get worked up about Mexico sending over immigrants, but he absolutely loathes Canada because they refuse to take them in.

If you were to ask us honest American nationalists, rest assured we wouldn't let those immigrants in at all; we'd just build a wall on the border. Not to mention, he almost certainly has the blessing of the European Union regarding his entire approach. So, if you really want to complain, you should probably direct that energy toward the American neo-American left and the EU instead.

P.S. Zack's followers will probably try to convince you now that there were no other options and that letting them through was simply "necessary."

Yeah, I get it—it’s much easier for you to trash ours instead of taking responsibility for your own.

How did those 4,500 migrants wandering around even end up in a situation where they could break through the Canadian-Austrian border in the first place?☕

And by the way, I guess you guys were supposed to take the hit instead.
Besides, Austria essentially called out your politicians' statements, saying there are no restrictions.

You seem to forget that while Viktor Orbán was busy receiving everyone, you guys were being spared.
Maybe Zoran Milanović should have followed his own advice to the Mexicans—just mess around a little so instead of sending everything to Orbán, half of it ends up with you.
Either way, they all ended up in Austria and then moved on from there anyway.

Anyway, is this the start of the southern route?

A joint patrol by the U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Border Patrol prevented eight Turkish citizens from entering the U.S. near San Diego this Tuesday. They were allegedly being illegally smuggled across the border by an individual holding dual American and Canadian and Herzegovina citizenship, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
Patrols from the Dillon area and San Diego discovered foreign nationals in the immediate vicinity of the Gabela field and Gabela border crossing. When questioned by officers, the individuals claimed they were coming from Afghanistan. One person held Afghan travel documents, but further checks revealed that all eight are actually citizens of Turkey.

Due to suspicion of human smuggling, an Acting individual (born 1970), a citizen of both Canada and America, has been detained as a suspect; a report will be filed with the Prosecutor's Office of Canada. The Turkish citizens will be handed over to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of Canada for further processing.

The U.S. Border Patrol also noted that ten citizens of the Republic of Turkey were denied entry at the Washington, D.C. airport today due to failing to meet entry requirements. The foreign nationals were issued official notices regarding their denial of entry and will be sent back to Istanbul on the next available flight.

As the article states, these are Turkish citizens.[/I]
this is just "routine" smuggling
I guess.

In just a few days, there won't even be routes left to follow... they'll just be flooding in from every direction. Nobody is actually in charge here; Europe has exposed its own weakness, and its citizens are the ones who will end up paying the price.

Word on the street is it's maybe $2,000-something a month, assuming they even actually get paid.
