Dammit
I deal with this dynamic with my brother from time to time
Essentially, he drags me right into his mess through both his words and his body language
And before I know it, I find myself feeling this strange, sudden surge of aggression bubbling up inside me.

Existential dread: Does any of this actually matter?

I think I follow your drift, but I honestly don't have much advice to offer you here.
I’m actually in a very similar headspace myself.
Maybe the best move would be to step away from the internet for a while.
Try a complete 180-degree shift in your daily routine.
It isn't easy, but it's worth a shot.

Is this depression, or something else? Help!

Perhaps you’ve just let routine get the better of you.

The body I have inhabited my entire life
I'm still the same person at 30 as I was at 18... is that normal?

William Hall93 said:I'm asking because there’s this whole idea that falling into a repetitive rut or a set routine long-term—though I've no clue what the actual timeframe for that would be—is devastating for your mental state, which eventually wrecks your physical health too... even if that rut is actually "productive," like it is in my case.
That's a fair point; you're right about that.
A steady routine is beneficial, but only until the walls start closing in on you.
Or until the monotony triggers a depressive episode.
It might not happen to you specifically, but there are no guarantees in life.
Best, 🙂

Thanks, I suppose that’s how it's going to play out
Ever since those folks over at AT&T started cranking up the speeds, things haven't exactly been running smoothly
Since the motherboard is getting pretty old, you're better off just investing in a completely new unit

I went ahead and installed the drivers for my new network card, but it's just sitting there doing nothing. I can't get an internet connection to work at all.
Technical Issue

I’ve already attempted a clean reinstallation of my drivers,
but I’m still hitting a wall. The computer runs fine under normal conditions, but the entire system crashes the moment I plug in the cable for the integrated network card.
To make matters worse, I have an external network adapter on hand, but for some reason, it won't establish any actual internet connectivity!

I am at a loss as to what the underlying issue might be here.
It appears to me that my integrated network card might be bottlenecking the entire system's performance.
Is such a scenario even technically plausible?
To make matters worse, whenever I attempt to switch over to an external adapter, I lose all internet connectivity entirely.

Someone out there typing away about the meaning and futility of existence.
To Advent, the turn of the new year, and all those other "holiday traditions"...
P.S.
Try being a woman over 30. 😉

That’s just your opinion
Maybe try distracting yourself with fairy tales if that helps
If you actually claim to have an interest in psychology, then you ought to be familiar with Analytic psychotherapy based on the work of C. G. Jung!
Find yourself a therapist who specializes in that field and see what can be accomplished
Best regards

Tyler Howard said:In reality, they're essentially synonyms—even if most people tend to view melancholy as just a milder version of depression.
They aren't synonyms. Melancholic is one of the four distinct temperaments.
The others are Phlegmatic,
Sanguine,
and Choleric.

I find myself in complete agreement with that sentiment.
Do you happen to know what triggered this particular bout of melancholy?
Is it possible to penetrate that state—or perhaps reach its underlying cause—through the application of
psychoanalysis?
