That massive orange ball hanging in the foggy sky totally motivated me to get moving today (my daughter insists it’s some different kind of sun, not the "old" one🙂 )... seeing that light still hitting the city... my windows are huge, so I take walks during my breaks, and since I clock out around 5 PM, thank god it’s actually still daylight outside. I'm trying to soak up every bit of sunlight I can, though I bet it's a struggle for people whose schedules mean they're constantly missing out on it. Honestly, even with the chill, this winter feels way more optimistic and upbeat than the last one, because hey, "there's always hope."😉 🙂 Sending positive vibes to keep you warm!
My extremities just can't handle this freezing weather😁 I can't even walk outside for more than 15 minutes without ducking into some warm spot to thaw out... but honestly? Even when I get home and crank up the heat in the late afternoon, it feels like ice water is running through my veins. That "deep freeze" feeling from the inside out is the absolute worst.😲 It’s fine while there’s still a bit of sun and I’m not spiraling, but once that nasty fog rolls in and signals an Arctic blast is coming... ugh.😱 If only summer lasted as long as this miserable winter... Just thinking about how short summer actually is makes me ache.😢
Why don't you just carry a Yeti tumbler in your bag so you can take a sip whenever you want? I’m being dead serious here.... 🙂 And tomorrow? It's gonna be at least 5 degrees out again. Total disaster.🙄
boldeagle3, seriously though, how are you even surviving this winter madness lately? I was legit thinking yesterday that my body was just gonna quit on me from the shock... it's insane.😲 Be honest, how many layers of thermal leggings are you wearing right now?..😁
So yeah, I’m the one to blame for my nearsightedness (-1 in both eyes), clearly! Basically, I earned this at 21 after basically living in my textbooks... just staring at pages for hours on end, studying or reading until my brain melted.🙄 Then, out of nowhere, everything just went blurry. Like, overnight. But hey, my prescription hasn't budged since then—been steady for over 10 years now. I usually stick to contacts, or maybe throw on some tiny glasses when I'm just chilling at home, because honestly? I can't stand the feeling of glasses on my face... not even sunglasses.
Hey boldeagle3, just grab some chili powder—you know, that red stuff—and toss whatever amount you want into hot cocoa. Stir it up and—boom! Like a lightning bolt. I love doing this because when I mix it up for the kids, it’s totally kid-friendly... super mild, sweet, zero kick. Honestly, even better? Make the cocoa from scratch using Hershey's dark cocoa powder. Way less sugar. Throw in some skim milk and you don't have to worry about the scale moving at all! I'm dead serious, anything spicy gets your heart racing and all that... you know the drill. It's the only thing that actually kicks your metabolism into gear so you stay lean!😁
For me, sitting down on the Manhattan Bridge subway helps, because if I'm standing, I just lose all sensation from the cold. Screw being elegant!😁
You seriously wouldn't believe it, but if you slather on a good nourishing body milk right after your shower, you actually feel warmer. Try it, I'm telling you from experience! Don't you start laughing. 🙂
When things get really rough, just think about being stuck on a subway during a heatwave... you know, mid-afternoon when the whole car is packed, the metal frame is scorching, and everyone is just absolutely dripping with sweat...😁
If you just need a basic dental fix, go see Dr. Klesin at the local community health center—seriously, highly recommend! For anything cosmetic, well, if you’ve got money to burn, it’s even easier... but I won't name names here, I'm sure someone's already pointed you in the right direction. 🙂 😉
Sipping on some hot cocoa spiked with chili... god, yes. Hopping on the subway—within seconds, my feet finally stop feeling like blocks of ice. Layering is the move, but don't think I mean heavy stuff. I stay way warmer if I just throw on an undershirt or some crazy microfiber tank top—you know, the kind that actually clings to you!—and then a thinner layer over that😁. It’s way better than bundling up like a marshmallow, plus my coat isn't really cut for wearing a million layers anyway. Sliding into those fancy boots with double sets of thin socks... life saver. Becoming a total hothead.😁
I haven't even bothered looking for a movie on this topic yet, except for one ancient flick a long time ago that was honestly pretty trash... anyway, hit me with some actual good recommendations so I can finally fill this massive void in my watchlist. Tnx!
I went into this movie with some pretty messy expectations left over from watching City of God... because after a flick like that, you’re basically bracing yourself for more slum stories, grit, violence, and pure raw realism. But Maria handles a subject that’s already incredibly heavy on its own. And honestly, the small Colombian town where she lives isn't even one of those typical cinematic "outcast" places. It’s just a regular, decent little provincial town where people aren't constantly walking around with knives tucked in their waistbands. Even Queens is portrayed in such a surprisingly normal way—just another suburban neighborhood filled with immigrants, much like the outskirts of any typical American suburb. You wouldn't guess it from the name alone, right?! You spend the whole time waiting for some massive, dramatic revenge plot—you know, all those clichés they drill into your head—but instead, you just get a slice-of-life story for what it really is. It’s hard to summarize, but basically... it's what happens when temptation wanders into the life of an ordinary person, and everything just starts spiraling toward darkness.
Maria is played by this stunningly beautiful actress, and she's so good that everyone's saying she's an Oscar contender!👍
A good movie doesn't always need to be drenched in blood, grit, and vengeance, even when it's dealing with "dirty" subjects. I really respect creators who stick to their guns and refuse to compromise.😉
Those little dimples—not just chin dimples, I mean those booty dimples😉 on a woman? Honestly, it’s an absolute weakness for me. Usually, I see them on women who are already built pretty perfectly. I might actually go as far as saying it's the hottest thing about the female body. Man, I can still picture this one Dutchwoman I saw once... she was such a knockout. She had zero clue that basically the entire beach (mostly the guys, anyway) was staring straight at those dimples, her curves, and that tiny bit of fabric barely hanging onto her hips. 🙂 😎 Forget functionality. Who needs functionality when you look like that?😉
P.S. Just waiting for the plastic surgery crowd to decide they need to start sculpting those too for Hollywood stars...😁
Desire Tram, East of Eden, Warm summer rain, Dreams... And they kill horses too, right? Legend of Autumn, whatever, I'm just winging it, I guess there's better stuff out there. There aren't any good ones left, let alone anything original. Everything's been used up...
So I see Wit Boy's got some hits and misses... found these jeans that are exactly the shade of light denim I've been hunting for forever, but the fabric is basically falling apart already. Like, it's actually shredded from being so worn out and trashy...😲
Honestly, I have zero clue how to navigate this sea of denim models anymore, even when they're from the exact same brand.😕 I mean, who actually has the time to test them all out? I’m on the hunt for some seriously hot pairs—you know, that "wow, these are the ones!" kind of sexy... but honestly, the selection feels totally overwhelming😁 . I don't mind if they're budget-friendly; I feel like Old Navy has some pretty decent options. But why on earth is Wit Boy so overpriced?? And the sales clerks there? Total nightmare... super rude and unprofessional.👎
How am I supposed to narrow this down? Any tips?
Also, when are those low-rise jeans with the weirdly shaped waistbands finally going out of style?
