Kyle White2, that chicken noodle soup recipe is actually pretty tasty, even if it's kind of "thin." You can barely taste the onion, but honestly, it's so greasy that maybe it’s not the best move for the two of us... 😉 I'm dying to know if any of those girls who swear by this soup actually have anything left after following it? I mean, whatever—sure, it's healthy, and probably a decent way for women looking to drop some serious weight to get started. Personally, I think tossing in as much celery as possible is the way to go, plus eating it afterward... there are tons of salads out there centered around it.
And as for "that" question, I think it's pretty pointless to even ask.
Hey ladies, are you seriously eating ONLY this soup, or is there more to the plan?
Honestly, the soup itself tastes great. During the summer, I always whip up something similar using whatever veggie scraps I have lying around (even green beans).
I gotta say, though, pushing just the soup sounds a bit extreme... I feel like you’d end up losing weight just by pairing it with some healthy side dishes. That soup basically kicks your metabolism into overdrive and really helps flush out extra fluids.
Ugh, honestly, such a mess. The movie actually starts off okay—some creepy bits that worked—but then it’s like the director just completely lost the plot. He had no clue where to go next, so he just rushed everything through a bunch of tired, cliché climaxes. Truly pathetic... I think he overestimated his own "talent" a bit too much. Kudos to people who don't touch ambitious projects because they know they aren't up to the task.
And don't even get me started on her husband. I mean, I get that love is blind, but those two should have stuck to being strictly platonic. It was the only way.🙄
I mean, seriously, what kind of movie are you expecting when you've got that loser Junior, a plain-looking Penelope, and—forgive my language—Halle Berry?!🙄
There is zero chance I'll ever like that movie, and honestly, I don't get why everyone else thinks it's anything but brainless. For me, it was pure torture... I seriously almost died of boredom in the theater a few years back just trying to sit through it. But hey, if you love that kind of stuff, be my guest!👋
Such a weird movie... just another entry in this recent "new wave" we've been seeing lately—a handful of really distinct, standout films that all seem to share this specific way of capturing reality and a similar vibe towards it.
In my opinion, this film isn't even trying to win you over, grab your attention, or push some grand idea; it feels more like we're finally seeing a perfect alignment between the subject matter and the director. Like, the filmmaker isn't forced to lecture us or broadcast their moral compass in some obvious, likable way. We’re getting more of this raw, photographic depiction of life—no preaching, no pointing fingers at what’s "important," just showing things as they are. And usually, that reality is way less flashy or dramatic than the stuff most movies try to force down our throats.
I can't say I was totally mesmerized... it lacks that "juice" you find in most other movies about this topic, the kind that are easier to swallow and actually make sense. But hey, maybe it's time we all got vaccinated against constantly hunting for those tired old tropes.
Real life is much closer to what these newer films are showing us; there aren't these massive plot twists right when you expect them, none of that pathetic dialogue we've been conditioned to expect, no director stepping in to tell us how to feel, and definitely none of that cinematic orgasm we've been trained to crave for instant gratification.
This movie just shows things as they are, and honestly... that's a pretty tough pill to swallow.

I’m thinking about hitting a tanning salon maybe 2 or 3 times before May... I've got my 5th high school reunion coming up 😁 and I really want to look decent 😁
Every single tanning bed I've ever used has an option to switch off the facial light. And honestly, if you're pale, you're probably gonna need way more than just 2 or 3 sessions.
I am never, ever using a tanning bed. Look, there are plenty of high-end foundations and concealers out there to hide a pale complexion. Tanning beds just wreck your skin in the long run, and honestly, I’ve yet to meet anyone who actually looks good or natural from it—like, you can't even be 100 feet away without someone squinting at you like, "Whoa, what happened to your face?!!"👋
The movie kicks off strong—tense, gripping, maybe even a little pretentious... then out of nowhere, it just loses its grip and starts rambling aimlessly. Total letdown after that initial rush. The ending? Pretty much a disaster.👎
While we're all just sitting here waiting for Musin to weigh in, I might as well drop my two cents.
Charlize Theron was honestly incredible in this. That Oscar was totally earned, and I'm not just talking about the whole "physical transformation" thing. It’s such a blast watching someone act with that much soul—no shame, no holding back, no playing it safe. I really think this role was a massive turning point for her career... making such a gutsy move clearly paid off.
Now, about the movie itself. It's a bit of a mixed bag, if I'm being real. Honestly, the only reason it works at all is because of Charlize. Everything else feels pretty surface-level—not enough detail, no real depth, just hints of things here and there. But hey, it's basically a one-woman show. It starts off feeling a little pretentious, but again, thanks to Charlize's powerhouse performance, you get some good vibes from it. Still, the movie doesn't really go anywhere beyond her; it stays stuck on that single character and that one central story. It's a story we've heard a million times before—usually way better told—but this time, it felt like they just wanted to give Charlize a chance to shine.
Yeah, they definitely milked her talent for all it's worth. Besides her, there isn't much to remember... maybe just Christina Ricci being annoyingly cute and actually pretty solid, and that weirdly bizarre romance between the two of them.
The movie is an easy watch, but it's thin. Super shallow, really... though not bad by any means. I actually had a good time watching it.
P.S. One more thing. The transformation for Charlize was top-tier, but man, they didn't need to turn her into some eyebrow-less monster. Even if she wasn't supposed to be a beauty, still... She looked like she barely survived a horrific accident that left her face totally scorched.
So, basically, since the calorie count for dried fruit and chocolate is pretty much identical—let's just call them both overkill—does the dried fruit hit the metabolism better, making it the smarter choice?
Melissa Cruz2 said:I lost a ton of weight once I cut carbs out of my diet. I just eat fruit twice a day and tons of salad. I've been doing boxing which is super intense, and the fat just melted away! Now I’m gonna start adding some summer sports too. I don't feel tired or dizzy at all, so I guess my body isn't signaling any deficiencies.
Melissa, how do you kill those sugar cravings—dried fruit?! What kind of carbs did you ditch exactly?
I honestly don't even crave meat. I actually dodge it during group meals, basically choking down steamed veggies instead, but it works for me... plus salads, which I mix into everything, even soups... I love them so much... But seriously, should I be replacing the lack of meat with something else?
As for fruit, I only stick to citrus (grapefruit, oranges) and apples.
