That request actually caught my eye. Changing a username is quite simple—you're essentially sticking with the same profile, just under a different label.
If you’re looking for a clean slate, then log out of this account and register a brand-new one. Just make sure to give the moderators on your respective subforums a heads-up that you've started fresh and won't be using the old profile anymore.
However, if you aren't interested in starting over and just want the name change (which is why this thread exists), then please just decide on which new handle you want. Pick one single name. I am certainly not going to make that choice for you.
The only edits we’ll permit are minor tweaks to capitalization or slight adjustments that don't fundamentally alter the identity of your username. It is vital that your handle remains recognizable. For instance: Tika becoming tika or tikica.
Please refrain from cluttering the boards with requests like, "I don't like my username, can you change it to something else?" That is unhelpful. Instead, provide one—and only one—concrete suggestion that adheres to the rules outlined above.
That might actually fly if he didn't have such an obnoxious username. Sure, his post count is low, but since he’s been popping up here and there during the Easter holidays, it doesn't make any sense to strip him of his handle.
Turn off your caps lock when you're online. Seriously, just do it everywhere. Your inbox? Check your sent folder too. I see absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to receive a DM.
Ashley Smith24, when you open up your private messages and that composition window pops up, take a look at the options sitting right underneath the text box—they're marked by little checkboxes. Check if you have the one that says "Save a copy of this message in my Sent folder" checked off. It’s supposed to be enabled by default, so you might have accidentally unchecked it.
I sent a note over to the administration, and they’ll escalate it if they see fit. To be perfectly honest, I haven’t encountered an issue quite like this before, though I suppose there is always a first time for everything. 😬 I am assuming your messages aren't coming through in full?
👍 I sent it over to the admin, so I'll update everyone here once it's sorted out. But honestly, that code you mentioned still feels incredibly off to me. Either my friend completely botched the info in those emails, or she just miscommunicated it to you. There simply isn't such a thing as an activation code for profile setup on this Reddit.
edit: I just tracked down the message on Reddit (so it wasn't a DM), but it was posted under a different username. I'm assuming it's yours. I'm going to go investigate whatever is going on with the account mentioned in that post.
