Could I be lactose intolerant? in Health ·
Edward Green said:So, I had about eight ounces of milk last night and felt a little off. Then things got worse. Then came the diarrhea. Then I realized the local CVS pharmacy is actually closed on Sunday nights, so I couldn't even grab some charcoal tablets. Looking back... I guess I’ve been feeling pretty nauseous lately after eating stuff like Cocoa Puffs or grits. Is it possible the milk is the culprit? I didn't eat anything heavy, greasy, or weird. And I didn't drink anything else. I've been able to drink milk by the gallon since I was a kid, though. It was never an issue before. Could it really be happening now?

It's possible.

Dana Allen3 said:Look, I get it. I eat whenever. If my wife has some free time to whip something up a day early, then fine.

And no, I am definitely not cooking my own dinner at 6 PM.😬

Well, if that's how it is, don't complain. Just pass out and stop bothering us with this nonsense...🙄
Listen, I won't cook. I'd honestly rather starve than deal with that.🙄
How old are you anyway?
Three?
Does mommy still wipe your butt?

Kenneth Diaz3 said:Honey, maybe try going back to first grade—you know, that elementary school building you used to play around near with your dad without ever actually stepping inside—and learn how to read for comprehension. Once you manage that, then you can join the conversation, okay?

Look at this idiot's post. 🙂

It’s not about ego... I only mentioned getting up to go to the bathroom because, you know, there's this intense pressure when I move... nothing else.
Even just sitting here, things feel like they're "snapping" and my head starts spinning.

Geez...

No clue about blood pressure. It used to be fine... I think. At least, I assume it was.

Well, why aren't you eating or sleeping?😕

Man, my dentist spent two months messing with one tooth—eight days straight dealing with this awful gangrene thing. I could tell it wasn't even "clean" yet; everything was still swollen, the inflammation wouldn't die down, and you could still see a shadow on the X-ray.

I actually heard another colleague telling him she wouldn't go near filling it yet... and you won't believe it, he still insisted on "finishing" it.

I’d sue him right now if I could, but I have zero proof. No medical records, no receipts from the visit... how am I supposed to prove I was even there? And what makes you think my colleague is going to testify for me? Yeah, right.

Honestly, they all need to be wiped out. WIPED OUT.

Sorry, but why don't you have a receipt?
That's on you if you didn't ask for one.
You can still report him, though—for tax evasion or whatever.

How did you pay? With Kesha?

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Fine—so you ate poorly and it worked for you. There are people who eat nothing but organic kale and still deal with cavities. Just like there are people living off junk food and skipping the toothbrush who somehow have Hollywood smiles. There are no rules here. Let's get back to the topic.👍

Alright, if you’re such an expert compared to actual dentists, why don't you just open your own practice in Washington, D.C.? Clearly, you've got it all figured out.😬

PS:
Some people smoke their heads off and never get lung cancer—does that mean there are no rules?
Also, a woman at my job smoked through both pregnancies and her kids are perfectly healthy. She claims there are no rules. Is she right?

Edward Green said:Fruit is sweet. Fruit has sugar. Fruit is healthy. For example.

Anyway, does anyone in Washington, D.C. actually bother going to the dentist, for crying out loud? 😁

I’m talking about refined sugar and candy, not fruit.
Back to the topic—I don't live in New York City, so I can't really help.

But seriously, ladies, how does it work with private dentists? Isn't there some kind of guarantee or a way to file a complaint if things go wrong?

😕

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Anthony Rodriguez58, believe it or not, just like some people are born with weak hair or brittle nails, there are people who just have fragile, sensitive teeth—no matter how much they watch their diet or brush.

Well, that’s me.
I learned that the hard way.
My dentist confirmed it, too.
Less sugar means fewer cavities, I guess.

Anyway, there's nothing to lose. Things can only improve if I cut back on the sugar.
It's not like sugar is some superfood packed with vitamins...😁

Kenneth Diaz3 said:Does a dentist like this even exist?

First, some private practitioner (super friendly, did everything by the book) absolutely trashed my tooth. When I called him back a few days later because things felt off, he basically told me I was overreacting and it was just a normal reaction. Fast forward a bit, and I ended up with gangrene. So, I went to another guy (less friendly, pretty sure he's closeted) who spent the whole time trashing the first guy, only to screw things up himself. He filled the tooth way too early because—and I quote—“I wanted to get more done today.” Now, I probably have goddamn gangrene all over again. The worst part is the canals are full, and I'm terrified I’ll end up needing surgery.

Anyway, let's move on from that. I'll figure it out somehow.

My question is: is there actually a high-quality dentist in Washington, D.C.? Doesn't matter if it's a private clinic or some hole-in-the-wall somewhere.

HELP GOOGLE

Wait, can private doctors really just do whatever they want?
Is there anywhere you can file a complaint, or maybe sue them?

Edward Green said:That’s exactly what I was getting at. 😁
I moved, and now I can't go back to my old dentist—she was wonderful, just incredibly gentle. Honestly, the idea of walking into some random clinic scares the life out of me.
And private practice? No way. My teeth are such a disaster, even God wouldn't want to foot the bill.
Location doesn't matter. I’ve got a GPS, a map, and two working legs. 😁

If I were you, I'd just cut out the sugar and candy altogether. Then maybe you'll just need routine checkups.
I learned that the hard way in Canada, where a single filling costs hundreds of dollars.

ZOsvald said:I've been dealing with migraines since middle school. It runs in the family.
Triggers include: alcohol (starts hitting me about thirty minutes after half a beer; cheap spirits and liqueurs seem to be the issue, though maybe not homemade moonshine??), bottled wine (but apparently certain local brands are fine??),
food: undercooked beans, poorly roasted corn, chocolate actually seems okay.

Obviously, what triggers a migraine is highly individual. Everyone's different.

As long as it actually works, I guess. It matters, right?

Certain foods can trigger migraines in some people—things like chocolate or red wine.MSG (especially MSG; I’d suggest checking the labels on seasonings, soups, canned goods, etc.).

For instance, McCormick contains MSG, and around here, people basically throw it on everything.
Maybe try cutting back on McCormick.
My husband used to get migraines from anything containing MSG, and ever since we stopped using it, his migraines have vanished.

So, you really have to pay attention to that. You can't just gorge on chocolate every day and expect acupuncture to work miracles.

But why "intangible"?
Like a bunch of blind men trying to describe an elephant.
One guy claims the elephant is long and thin like a snake (trunk), another insists it's round and wide (leg), and a third argues it's flat (ear)... yet all of them are talking about the same elephant...

Michael Cox40 said:If PMS was actually the culprit, I’d have him all over me. Given my massive chocolate intake and how much coffee I drink, there's zero trace of it left.😛

I used to deal with it, I guess, until I cut out the junk food and soda. Now? It's gone.🙂

Cut out the sugar, chocolate, and coffee... maybe you won't deal with PMS anymore.👍

The system still has to process whatever food or liquid you take in. That's why sticking to plain water during a fast is best—it requires the least amount of digestion. Plus, you have to avoid dehydration.
Fasting in general isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. One word: willpower.

So, what, should we just hold our breath every once in a while so our lungs get a rest too? 😉
