Pointless... it feels like the people behind this movie have never even cracked open the comic book.

Sure, it was adapted for kids... but that doesn't excuse a total disaster like this.

Yeah, that guy... thanks.

I actually liked him at first glance. It was an original performance, if nothing else.

👍

I've only seen one of his sets, and the guy literally had me laughing until I cried...

He was following some red-haired guy with a guitar... the stage was covered in candles and looked like something out of a fairy tale... basically, the guy was just babbling nonsense through songs... singing these childish, storybook tunes with an incredibly "intense" chorus (parody). It was ridiculous how silly... yet good...
Since the name wasn't listed, can anyone tell me if they recognize the guy from my description?

By the way, Ty Green is a comedy virtuoso to me... the absolute god of modern laughs.

I caught a movie on DivX the other day... the translation was an absolute train wreck. Half the sentences were incomplete or just made zero sense. It was unbelievable. Eventually, I gave up on the subtitles and just tried to follow the plot through the visuals alone 😁 ...this thread helped fill in some of the gaps, though.

All things considered, it's a solid fairy tale 👍

How about a bloodthirsty pit bull? Or maybe just a little 9mm pet? 😁

The movie perfectly captures the raw brutality of modern sports—specifically how media exposure exposes the rotten moral foundations most of them lean on today. There’s plenty more to unpack in the film, but that core message is absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah, those shots during the game are totally "sportscaster style"—all blurred movement and chaos. It’s actually quite realistic when you consider what an athlete really sees on the field... nothing but blur and pure instinct 🙂...

...it’s got a great cast of characters, solid acting, and sharp dialogue... honestly, having watched it a second time, I think I like it even more 👍

The simplest, most effective fix is... just work through the pain. It works 😁

...it’s like a hangover... you have to fight fire with fire. If your head is splitting from last night's vodka... drink two shots of whatever and watch it vanish 🙂

...same logic applies here... it hurts like hell. You push through it, get moving; say you're doing the same job that caused the strain in the first place... it hurts at first... but once you warm up, the pain is gone. Repeat the process tomorrow morning... and the next... and eventually, it disappears for good. Forget the antacids and the pills... just deal with it 😁

Personally, I think Paris and Hector were the only ones properly fleshed out.

Hector? Give me a break... he's the only one who works for me.

The King kept reminding me of Mel Brooks and "It's good to be the king." 😁😁😁

briskjackal5 said:That’s total nonsense. This is probably one of the dumbest complaints about this movie.

If not the absolute dumbest...
Just my take on the film... don't start a flame war.

...and I already said... we aren't debating tastes here.🙂

briskjackal5 said:I can't think of a SINGLE movie with characters this strong and clear, both in their actions and their dialogue.

I know plenty... at least twenty...
And no, I'm not listing them.

By the way, Thurgood Marshall wrote a great analysis of the characters.👍
...the narrator, Odysseus... portrayed as some coward avoiding the fight... blah blah...

briskjackal5 said:By the way, "average action movie"?
What else would you call an "average" action movie?

Well, for instance... even something similar to "Gladiator" (a waste of time... though Gladiator is just hardcore trash... Troy is a much better film... but that's essentially it)...

The rest... movies like "big crowd in little Tokyo," "American Ninja IV," and other "average action movies"
...designed just to make money through decent action... just my perspective, hopefully...

The movie is excellent.

Don't get me wrong... but I'm genuinely surprised by how fascinated you are with such a commercialized, cliché presentation of the same story.🙂

slylynx16 said:You should consider whether it's better to have a solid epic movie—which Troy undoubtedly is!

Yeah, right... it's neither good nor epic.

It's just an average action flick with hollow dialogue.

The only redeeming quality is how brutal the combat is shown.

But hey, to each their own... let's not go there... I'll just say that for people who, like you, are familiar ( 🙂 ) with Greek mythology... this movie is utterly pointless.

The only thing worth watching in this movie is the combat scenes... they butcher people like livestock.
Impressive... raw... no censorship or cinematic tricks... just cold, brutal violence.

The only line that actually got to me was when Achilles describes the human race.

Everything else is garbage...

Some low-budget sci-fi flick... I can't even recall the title... The main villain is some sort of cosmic manifestation of pure evil. He’s got this flashy energy thing going on... Supernova something or other. Anyway, he dropped the hardest line I've ever heard in a movie: "Regret is the only sin."

...

Demolition Man

Something like, "Send a lunatic to catch a lunatic"...

And all those "Simon says" references throughout the film... That was cool. Really cool. Back in the day, at least...
