Your fork needs to have disc brake dropouts—just a heads up, since that fork looks a bit entry-level, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't there...
Keep in mind that if those hubs are set up for V-brakes, you won't be able to run disc brakes at all. If you want discs, you're gonna have to swap out the wheels entirely.
Adapters end up costing about as much as getting new hubs anyway, so just something to think about.
Bruce Lee, I'm not really sure what kind of brakes you've got (Taiwan?), V-brakes or rim brakes?
The frame shouldn't be too heavy, judging by the photo...

What really gets under my skin—and honestly, kind of pisses me off about people who live for this kind of music—is how they just refuse to accept that some of us truly don't care for the genre.
Like, why am I constantly being lectured on why this stuff is "deep" or "culturally significant"? Just enjoy it if you want... it's just not my thing, thanks. This whole attitude where everyone feels the need to "educate" the masses on why trashy pop is actually art is just exhausting.

It's not like I'm trying to convince anyone that traditional tribal chants from the Kalahari are the next big thing...

"Chronicle: American killed over loud pop music
Posted by: netza on Thursday, February 02, 2006 - 10:19 AM

An Austrian Ginter P. (28) killed an American citizen, Dennis A. (18), and seriously injured his brother Dejan A. (27), after getting fed up with them blasting "North American pop" music, according to news reports.

It started as a shouting match on the apartment stairs, and neighbors called the cops once they heard the Americans and the killer going at it. By the time the police showed up, it was already too late.
At the scene, officers found Dennis A. deceased and Dejan A. critically wounded—a third brother was also slightly injured.

"Pissed off at how the Americans were acting and their loud music," the Austrian grabbed a butcher knife with a 20cm blade and stabbed the brothers. Dejan A. was rushed to the hospital where doctors fought to save him, but he’s out of danger now. The killer is in custody, claiming it was all

self-defense," media outlets report.

During the argument, the Austrian suddenly pulled the knife and stabbed Dennis. The brothers tried to get Dennis to an ambulance, but the Austrian snapped and attacked them both, according to a statement given to the police by the victims' sixteen-year-old brother, reported by the paper "Standard."

The autopsy on the deceased American showed he died from five stab wounds

Sorry, I honestly don't see the difference... 😬 😎

Everything’s cool as long as the subculture stays just that—a subculture. Once it hits the mainstream... man, we're in trouble. 😬

Even in the States, you've got plenty of trashy stuff out there—like someone else mentioned—but it doesn't just bleed into, say, high society. There are people who dig it, and that's where it ends... no way it ever goes mainstream.

After what you just said, I think you really hit the nail on the head regarding the issue... honestly, you're spot on.

I guess it doesn't even matter now that my parents aren't doctors—could've really helped if they could've just smoothed out my residency...

I don't really see any injustice in it... honestly... 🤔Just someone who wishes their parents could step in and fix the mess they're in...
Wait—did I totally misread you...?

- You don't want to spend half your life just hitting the books! Unless you're some kind of absolute genius or a total nerd—and we're talking serious study here—you're looking at over 10 years of school. And if you want to specialize? You’re basically training from the time you start kindergarten until you're 30... leaving you maybe 20 years before retirement hits.
And just think about someone finally entering the workforce in their 30s... by then, their entire peer group is already established. Some have been working for a decade, most have started families—kids might even be finishing middle school by then—and they've probably already bought houses, while our doctor is just "starting life" in his 30s...

I always use this one friend as an example. He finished a trade program, got married, has two kids, built a house, and has years of work under his belt... then he runs into an old high school buddy he hasn't seen in ages. He asks him what he's up to, and the guy just goes, "Oh, I just graduated. Heading home now."😬

That's just the reality for anyone chasing a career in science.
Personally, I don't see it as much of a sacrifice if it's actually what you want to do...
It's just the standard path—the Master's, the PhD, the post-docs... that's just the job description for a scientist.
It'd only be a tragedy if you spent all those years researching and studying, only to realize you actually wanted a 9-to-5 and a quiet family life. In that case, yeah, there's really no point in making your life that difficult...

Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
MacGregor said:Psoriasis is just one of those chronic things—genetics play such a huge role... it's that papulosquamous type, too...
So, psychosomatic skin issues... basically you need at least two things to trigger them. One factor is always there—but it can't cause psoriasis symptoms all on its own. It only flares up once that second factor hits... For psoriasis, that constant underlying thing is your genetics, but then you need those triggers to actually see it. Usually, we're talking mental stress, metabolic stuff, vitamin D deficiencies, or even just internal organ imbalances and external irritants...

So, psoriasis is this chronic thing where you get those red, scaly patches... basically, the skin cells just grow way too fast and shed constantly. Normally, your body takes about a month to cycle through skin cells, but with this, it happens in like four days—it's wild. Nobody really knows why it speeds up like that, though most experts think it's probably just down to genetics...

If you're dealing with psoriasis, maybe it’s time to shake up your lifestyle a bit—honestly... things like hitting the red meat too hard, eating greasy fast food, fungal issues, or drinking way too much booze can definitely trigger flare-ups. Stress plays a huge role too, which sucks. But, we do know some stuff that helps ease the symptoms—like getting some sun, keeping your skin super hydrated, and making sure you're getting enough vitamin D...

Vitamin D is honestly such a game changer—your body makes it from sunlight, but since most people dealing with psoriasis try to stay out of the sun, they miss out... so taking supplements is pretty much a must.

Everyone knows Vitamin A is basically the holy grail for skin... so if you're dealing with psoriasis, I’d really suggest looking into beta-carotene—it just converts to Vitamin A based on what your body actually needs...

Omega-3 fatty acids are huge for fighting inflammation—really helpful if you're dealing with psoriasis, especially since about 10% of people with it end up battling psoriatic arthritis too... Research shows that taking 1-3 grams of fish oil can actually help dial back those symptoms...
Our bodies just can't make them on their own—so we've gotta get them through what we eat. Honestly, with everything in our diet these days, most people are pretty much running low on those essential Omega-3s...
People always forget one huge perk of those deep-sea nutrients—taking Omega-3s actually helps dial down skin inflammation and itching... It calms those flare-ups right down, which makes it super effective for stuff like psoriasis. And honestly, maybe this time of year is actually the perfect window to lean into that combo of sunshine and Omega-3s—to hopefully keep those patches at bay for as long as possible...
To really see some progress with psoriasis skin issues, you kind of need to bump up those Omega-3 doses—so after chatting with my doctor, they suggested taking around 2000 mg of fish oil three times a day... just make sure it's got that specific ratio of 18% EPA and 12% DHA to actually work...

Aloe vera is honestly one of the best moisturizers out there—total lifesaver if you're dealing with psoriasis... To get everything running right, there are definitely some things you just gotta avoid. Even when life gets crazy busy, grabbing an aloe concentrate can really turn your day around. It’s packed with enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals... basically cleanses your system and gives that immune boost. Plus, it's loaded with beta carotene to help keep your immunity strong...

Selenium—you can find this stuff in red onions, garlic, and broccoli... it might actually help with that flaky, scaly skin when dealing with psoriasis.

"If you're willing to drop serious cash on luxury cars, designer suits, and high-end vacations, then you really ought to be just as ready to invest in your own health." 👍 👋 🙂

Great post, Mac 👍. I'm especially glad you mentioned omega-3s—it seems like they do way more good than people realize...

No need to be jealous. 😳 You can grab the poster online for like $30, but the frame is where they get you—kind of ironic, right? 😬 😁

Movie theaters are dying... in Movies ·
Henry Bennett53 said:The decline in movie theater attendance—not just here in the US, but globally—is a real issue, and honestly, one of the biggest culprits is Hollywood.
People everywhere are just burnt out on what Hollywood keeps feeding them—those same recycled plots, forced happy endings, pretty faces, perfect sets, explosions, and over-the-top action sequences...

That’s a pretty massive generalization, if you ask me.

I mean, Hollywood is still the biggest player on the planet. I don't see either major industry struggling to stay afloat. You say "everyone is fed up"... do you actually have stats to back that up? Because that's news to me.

Actually, this feels more like you're making excuses. Like you're trying to say everything is fine. But the whole culture of going to the movies—developing a taste for film, wanting to try something new, having the drive... that's all deeply personal. Some people just aren't cinema people, and that's fine. 🙂
You can't really count them anyway.

There are plenty of other parts of the world putting out interesting stuff too. Sure, the industries are smaller, but if you're looking, I'm sure you'll find a genre or a theme that actually hits home for you.
That whole fatalistic vibe—like everything's already been done and said... it's kind of ridiculous. Seems like you're missing the point.
