🙂 then definitely don't go checking out that L4yer cake thread if that's the case...
😬 😁

And those Sandsov lyrics? They're like 90% just Depp improvising. Man is a genius once he gets inspired...

I had no idea. 👍

Brian Moore67 said:I’m a huge fan of Depp—not just because of his looks, I'm not a total creep, but seriously, his acting is top-tier...[/B]

Well yeah, obviously. 😁 (It shows you grew up in the States when you feel the need to qualify stuff like that. 😁 Don't take it personally, but that whole macho thing actually seems kind of charming to me since I don't run into it all that often) 😘

Possible spoiler:

Sands is such a character, though. They really should've gone with a prosthetic hand. 🤣
And honestly, 10k isn't even that much money to kill someone over... just tragic. 😬

Between Tarantino and Rodriguez, I'd say Rodriguez is always more "sophisticated"—if you can even use a word like that to describe either of them... 😁😬

Tarantino is just straight-up bizarre, whereas Rodrigues actually brings a bit of style to the table. That’s just how I see it. 🙂
OUTIM is a great flick—and look, I'm not even a huge Depp fan, but I have to admit he was a solid choice for the Sands role 👍 .

off topic: m mead rules 🙏
Female serial killers? in Movies ·
ironcrane7 said:I don't know, I feel like Cate is kind of obvious. Plus, she’s just super irritating and predictable as an actress.
For something less icy and more neurotic—Miranda Richardson would be perfect. You know, in that Queen style, with those extra nervous little tics...

It's your movie, 🤣 but saying Cate is a predictable actress 😲 just isn't true...

Cate has this face that film just loves. Seriously, her eyes are incredible—so expressive and almost poetic... 😍
Compared to Tild Swinton, Cate feels way more feminine and sensual. Tild Swinton's whole thing—take it how you want—is that androgynous look.

Solid pick 👍-- though only if Cate isn't available...

Brian Moore67 said:What about Barbara Celjski? Word is she lived to be 150—had a ton of lovers, mostly ended up dead because of her... people say she stayed alive that long by sacrificing young girls in some kind of ritualistic way, doing all this voodoo stuff... She spent part of her life living up at a castle outside Philly😱

Oh really? Is "voodoo" literal here or just a figure of speech?... 😁
Never heard of Barbara before... you got more details?

Jose Miller17 said:well, there's the proof right there... it takes twice as long to crack a case like this... who can even get inside a mind like that? honestly, I doubt a female detective could handle it... because, let's be real, she'd approach it totally differently 😁😁

respect for the effort though. 👍

The only thing popping into my head is:
Elizabeth Bathory

Badave, enthusiasts, that's what I'm getting at.
A little bit of everything goes into this...
Streetcar.
Nah, definitely not—whoever said you need to rent a semi-truck, a catering crew, and twenty tripod assistants...

😂

It’s people like this who give enthusiasts a bad name... 😁😁

Man, be glad we don't live in the same city... 🙂

😁😁
slylynx16, look, I don't have an issue with your posts at all—five stars from me. You never drop any major spoilers... so I really hope you're not mad at me.
That idiot totally blindsided me with a massive spoiler.
I feel like that whole twist is actually a huge part of the movie, so I’d probably tell them not to give away the plot. Everything else... I don't care. Most people are pretty chill and will write spoiler if they start getting into the weeds.

Brian Moore67 said:Did you ever catch that old Simpson's short—back when they were just shorts before the actual show started—where Marge sings that rock-a-by baby song?
Rock-a-by baby upon the tree top
Maggie's in her crib at the top of the tree
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
the wind shakes the cradle
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall
the branch snaps
Down comes the cradle with baby and all.
Maggie goes down right along with the crib..

Those nursery rhymes are low-key horror...

Just like those classic fairy tales 🤣
Lawrence Booth2 said:For me, style beats plot any day—unless we're talking about stuff like Dracula or Interview with the Vampire, or things in that vein.
I’m all about the vibe and the visuals... you know, that aesthetic beauty you see in South Korean cinema... how the shots are composed and who's looking at whom... honestly, I couldn't care less about which girl is dealing with her period during a scene... that's why I didn't even bother looking up 😁
the ending

Wow, seriously... 🙄

I try my hardest not to read reviews (half the time I don't even look up the synopsis for movies I'm actually hyped for), and I come to FILM thinking I'll find people who actually get that kind of thing....then you show up with this absolute load of nonsense. Now I'm just gonna be sitting there subconsciously during the movie thinking... man, I wish I could just 😁 🙂

The Brothers Grimm (by Terry Gilliam) in Movies ·
I feel like we’ve already touched on this movie somewhere... 😁
That PG-13 rating was a bit of a letdown for me. But hey—it's Gilliam's baby, so I guess I'll give him a pass...
The original fairy tales (which the Brothers Grimm mostly just made up or "borrowed" from those French refugees) were honestly pretty gruesome.
If Gilliam had actually stuck to that source material, nobody under 17 would have even been allowed to see it. And man, I was really hoping for that... 😢
I’ll definitely check it out when I get a chance. 😍 I mean, I'm such a sucker for East Asian cinema...
By the way, Paramount is actually doing a series with Rome called "Masters of Horror."

Could be pretty bloody . 🤣

northerncrane4 said:Too obvious. You're totally intuitive—like, purely feminine. Only women can be that sharp...

No need to get sexist here. 😉
Don't be ashamed of how smart you are. I get that sexism is basically the peak for some people, but you've got actual potential—you don't need that stuff...

Chill out, Smudj. 😁

Even you don't seem to know what the point of your posts is anymore—whether you're actually attacking someone or just trying to defend them...

Look, being aggressive is one thing, but doing it like an idiot is just gross. 😉

That's the distinction you gotta wrap your head around. 😉

Lighten up buddy 🙂
