dustycanyon6 said:Look, just tell me straight—do you actually know if you're phenylketonuric or not?

Here’s the thing: if you were actually born with phenylketonuria and hadn't been on a strict diet since day one, you'd be dealing with intellectual disability right now...

And honestly, if you went to get tested for every single thing you come into contact with, the stress of the testing itself would probably kill you first.

Man, there's really no point in explaining this further; I might as well just rename this thread to "Hypochondria—if not outright paranoia..."

dustycanyon6, how much time have you wasted theorizing about what diseases you have (and while you're at it, finding allergies to aspartame, aluminum, mercury fillings, the start of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, whatever else)? You could've spent all that time actually improving your quality of life—maybe then you'd feel better.

Or what, are you saying the solution is to live under a glass dome?

Sorry, no hard feelings, but spending your whole life terrified and theorizing about what allergic reaction you'll trigger tomorrow is just 👎

I remember you from the PC forums—you had a ton of useful posts back then—so what is all this for now? 😕 ???

Get a life!!!

As far as I know—and correct me if I'm wrong—that warning is only there for people with PKU (phenylketonuria... is that how you spell it???)
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
placidbear46 said:My doctor primarily prescribed them to deal with acne breakouts and facial hair growth.

That’s exactly why they use Diane—it’s for when women deal with androgenization (excessive hair, acne, maybe even hair thinning—usually tied to PCOS). Honestly though, doctors prescribe Diane just for birth control all the time, which isn't great.

If you're just using it for contraception, Diane should be your absolute last resort; but in your situation, I think your doctor made a solid call.

What’s the move? You really ought to get a pelvic ultrasound to check your ovaries (see if they're polycystic or whatever); get your female hormones checked (estrogen, progesterone); thyroid stuff too, maybe. And if you have heavy hair growth but your ovaries come back normal, you might want to look at adrenal hormones (cortisol, aldosterone...). Just to nail down the diagnosis.

And before you start the pills—and then every six months or so after—get some bloodwork done: a full CBC, liver panels (bilirubin, AST, ALT, GGT), and definitely check your platelet count (!!! super important). Most hormonal pills bump up the risk of blood clots, heart issues, etc.
If there’s no history of those issues in your family and you're relatively healthy—plus you don't smoke (or barely touch them)—you should be fine.

Have another chat with your doctor; but if we're talking acne and extra hair, Diane is actually a good choice—provided you're sure the ovarian issues are the culprit (which they usually are). If you haven't run the tests yet, see my list above. Definitely get that bloodwork done.

Mr. Pes hasn't said anything—so I'm guessing he skipped the doctor's appointment 😠

Yeah... and honestly, I wouldn't be able to afford them here anyway. It’d actually be helpful if people just wrote a post explaining what the hell is going on 🙂 👋

And what even is the HKB & what's the point 😕 😕 😕

Total waste of time—just a bunch of filler... they're clearly dragging it out just to tease the guys in the audience via the visuals (C. Farrell 😉 😁 ); all together 👎
redowl90 said:So, Keanu Reeves is in "The Devil's Advocate" instead of Russell Crowe—or did I just mess up again (standard procedure for me)? 🙂

Mikilegendocare said:You got it wrong, as usual... though you did take one for the team there, so I'll give you that. 🙂

It's actually Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino in "The Devil's Advocate" (unless he decided to go brunette on us recently 😁 )

Don't even get me started on Robert De Niro—leave the LEGEND alone 😠

Robert De Niro 👍 👍 👍

The movie's great—but man, it’s a total downer. It definitely makes you think... but I’m still sitting here with this weirdly dark vibe lingering after the credits rolled.

The movie was killer 👍 (and when I say that, considering Leonardo DiCaprio is my absolute 👎 )
Muscle strain? (Back left calf :) ) in Health ·
thanks Casey Palmer5... honestly didn't do anything special (no crazy 😉 stunts or anything); my muscle just felt off (barely even hurt) for a few days for no reason—maybe some random cramp hit me mid-sleep? and then it totally "snapped" when I jumped up from lying down onto that
leg...

btw, I have a hunch it’s one of those deeper muscles—right against the bone—it really tightens my calf whenever I'm walking

brisknomad6; thanks too—but I don't think it's a nerve (I know what a nerve sting feels like in my shoulder) - this is different, like something just seized up or got overstretched
Muscle strain? (Back left calf :) ) in Health ·
So here’s the deal—first I had this random calf cramp out of nowhere, then a few days ago I jumped out of bed too fast, landed hard on my left leg, and felt this SHARP, stinging pain right behind the knee. It’s been four days now; nothing looks wrong visually—no bruising, no swelling—I can walk, but it hurts like hell 🙂 🙂 🙂

It actually feels better if I wear some kind of heel; wearing flats is total torture

Any ideas??? Muscle strain? Tendon issue?

They told me I was good to go just a week before my surgery—sent me straight home.

magicna; you probably just have a crazy fast metabolism so illnesses can't catch you. 😉 😁 (honestly, you should probably hit up the doctor morning and night just to be safe. 😛 )

cosmicridge5; sure, maybe—but your legs were swollen at 4 AM right before you crashed. I’m assuming they didn't just magically fix themselves overnight. Person's legs were still swollen after sleeping. That's the whole point.

Wait; is that why you have to kneel the second you see him? 😳 😛 ???
