So, what kind of tea kettle are you actually using?

so I just scrolled back up to where you mentioned it earlier
echinacea 😍

I’ll be the first to admit it—fall is basically my excuse to live on tea... I just went out and grabbed a few different blends; orange and cinnamon, some green, marshmallow root, and that pink açai one—or whatever it’s called, honestly I can't even be bothered to look at the box right now...
That sounds amazing! Personally, though, chamomile is always my go-to number one...

Oh, and by the way, I am definitely going to try that lavender blend to see if it actually helps me pass out easier🙂

Alright, let me vent about my experience from about a year back.
I was thinking about ordering some stuff online—same thing, really—and I’m using that student account over at JPMorgan Chase. It comes with a checking account, a foreign currency account, and that legendary Visa Electron card... which is a total joke because you can't actually use it for anything online. Seriously, look at this:
http://www.bensonsworld.co.uk/
See that little icon in the bottom left? It says Visa Electron, but trust me, that doesn't apply to our version of the card here in the States (tried it, failed miserably) :-(
People over in other places have access to Virtuon or whatever, but we don't have anything even remotely similar... it's frustrating :-(

If you actually want to buy things on the internet, you basically need to have a real income to qualify for any decent cards that actually work.

Joseph Lee3 said:on the flip side, the whole artistic vibe and overall impact are pretty much shot just by the concept of using a small screen. there's really nothing else to say about it.

which is why I'm basically gonna go buy a projector and some peace and quiet...

Joseph Lee3 said:man... what, you don't have any helping hands around to bail you out?! honestly, I'd rather walk around in a wrinkled shirt than deal with an iron.

yeah, I don't :-(
I gotta admit, ironing was kind of fun at first... now it's just a massive drag, but hey, nobody's stepping up to do it for me either :-(

Joseph Lee3 said:you know how Satchmo puts it: We have all the time in the world.... 🙂

I’m honestly just stoked that whatever I’m downloading has finally passed the ten-person sharing mark—now, whether it takes five days or seven to finish... well, in the meantime, I'll just be over here ironing the last of the laundry. At this rate, my ISP would probably throttle my speeds if they saw me acting like a suburban housewife... 🙂

haha, tell me about it. I just finished tackling the last of my laundry pile too... those things have been eating up all my floor space for days. My whole room basically smells like Downy right now. 👍

Ljelja said:thanks for clearing that up. I've heard of him, but I never really looked into it since I'm just a casual user.

The issue with this DSL connection I'm stuck with—and honestly, everyone else using it too—is that it prioritizes upload over download... basically, the second someone starts grabbing files from you, your own download speeds tank while you're trying to pull stuff from someone else... which is why NetLimiter is such a lifesaver—it lets you throttle that upload speed so you aren't constantly getting throttled yourself, plus it has a few other handy little features;;;

Joseph Lee3 said:how the hell are you pulling down 31 pieces with a measly 1 KB/s connection?! 🤔 is this some kind of "mule hacking" magic or what...

you see that little blue icon in the bottom right corner—the one with the 'L' and the backwards 'L'?
well, that little beauty is called "NetLimiter"

I’d throw Kid Loco - A Grand Love Story into the mix too...
absolute masterpiece...

Alright, alright—maybe I didn't phrase that quite right... 🙂

Totally forgot to mention DJ Shadow... he's definitely cool too.

Jose Chase2 said:man, I thought I was the only one feeling this way. They're totally overrated. I’ve got their live set on record though, and honestly? It's incredible—props to them for that.

Thievery Corporation is just boring to me... kind of pretentious, if we're being real.

Kid Loco might have a gem or two sprinkled in there now and then, I guess.

aha, yeah, Thievery feels more like background noise for some lounge at a club in South Beach or whatever... but still, they definitely ripped off that track for that mattress commercial or something... anyway, Radiohead are top-tier. Their live shows are insane—is there a DVD or something out there?

onExtasy said:Radiohead----the only one

anyone else know any other bands playing that kind of style?

there's actually a ton of it... lately I've been deep in the trip-hop rabbit hole...
you basically have your holy trinity
Radiohead - Trent Reznor
Tricky - Björk
Portishead - Björk

besides those, there's plenty of other stuff out there...
- pretty much anything from Radiohead (Blue Lines, Protection, No Protection—those remixes are killer, Mezzanine, 100th Window—maybe a bit weaker, Danny the Dog soundtrack, Collected—just some B-sides and whatnot)... they might be dropping something called "Weather Underground" or whatever at the end of the year
- Tricky - he's that guy who features on a lot of Radiohead tracks, besides his first "Maxinquaye" and "Blowback," I haven't dug too deep into him, but those two are top-tier, especially the first one
- Portishead - man, what can I even say... way deeper and more depressing than anything else, but absolutely incredible—check out their self-titled "Portishead" among others... they've got "Alien" coming out soon

for the slightly less mainstream stuff
- Goldfrapp - they blew up recently after their third album and that massive hit "Oh La La," but personally, I dig "Black Cherry" and "Felt Mountain" more
- Lamb - that's like trip-hop mixed with a heavy dose of drum'n'bass, interesting at first glance but they lost me a little later on—still, listen to everything they've done because it all fits together this specific vibe... they're known for hits like "Gabriel" and "Gorecki"
- Air - "Moon Safari" is mandatory listening if you're looking for anything to chill to
- Archive - the "Londinium" album is a total hidden gem in the trip-hop scene, haven't touched the rest of them but it doesn't feel quite as strictly trip-hop (though honestly, they're amazing)
- Hooverphonic - man, why did it take me this long to hear them?!? mostly famous for that first album "A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular"—it's full of hits and they do a lot of film scoring too... their latest "No More Sweet Music" is solid, haven't heard the rest
- Royksopp - the "Melody AM" album sounds like it's from another planet entirely
- Sneaker Pimps - listened to "Splinter" and was just speechless. 🙏
- Thievery Corporation - similar to the chillout stuff, but still an absolute vibe

so yeah, you've got plenty to work with, check out Zero 7 or Earthling - Radar and you'll find more... there's a whole world there...

Kramer vs. Kramer in Movies ·
Man, this is one of those movies that just sticks with you—I watched it on loop constantly when I was a kid. Even though I was just a little brat back then and didn't catch all the nuances, those specific scenes still haunt me... like the part where the kid loses an eye, or whenever Dustin Hoffman starts acting crazy and doing his thing...

Man, if only I had more free time...

I'm totally with you there. Honestly, I've been trying to piece together a playlist like this for about six months now, but I've basically just stuck to funk, disco, and all that trashy stuff...

So, we're talking the Chuck Norris soundtrack—you know, that Eyes of the Ranger vibe
Rocky—Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
Not even mentioning Village People - YMCA
Funkytown
and so on... and so on...
