Total garbage—felt like some cheap indie propaganda piece.

I mean, I get it—it’s definitely not your typical American sense of humor, but let's be real... it’s still miles away from being actually edgy or clever, right?
The movie has its moments, sure—but honestly, even someone with zero vision could see it’s just a super over-commercialized attempt at being "bad."

I can get behind that. Honestly, I wasn't exactly expecting to sit in a Cinemark theater watching Bad Santa assault a teenager or some crap—so the lack of edgy stuff didn't really ruin the vibe for me.

Yeah, some folks just love a good, gentle wrecking of someone's ego.

just your typical American humor that isn't even funny—it just relies on mocking and insulting everyone except Americans themselves while enjoying the group activity of making fools out of other people (kind of like that post above),
a bunch of swear words piled on top of each other,
and cheap sex scenes that look more like assault or torture...

basically, if anyone actually enjoys watching this stuff, they can go wander through some local flea markets or dive bars.. I don't get it, why watch this on TV or in a movie theater—when we're already surrounded by it?
😕

Oooooo man, you are such a moron, I seriously can't believe it. Only someone who has absolutely zero clue about humor, or the US, or communism, or paranoia, or sucking up to the system... basically, someone completely devoid of any brain cells could write a critique this stupid (and I'm talking about James Bond and who is that guy).

And just to prove my point, why don't you go ahead and name one single example of an actual good comedy?

Unless you're some huge fan of that cheesy 80s synth music, you probably won't survive that disaster.😁

I honestly don't get why you even bothered going to see it? 😕

So, James Bond and who is that guy is "disgusting" to you? Look, maybe they're poking around in your world of homosexuality now, but honestly? I don't think you were born this way—seems more like you became a homo because of some bad childhood vibes or something. Because, let's be real, nobody with a normal brain could hate James Bond and who is that guy.

In your case, being gay isn't an identity, it's just a symptom. You probably need a lobotomy—even if it doesn't turn you straight. It's not even about whether you'd stop being gay... it's just that you definitely need a lobotomy.

Did you guys catch that holiday flick? Billy Bob Thornton as Santa Claus, and some chubby kid just being a chubby kid? It was the first comedy that actually had me dying after Zoolander. I even caught a screening around 1:30 on a Sunday when the theater was basically empty—felt kinda bad laughing my head off in an empty room. There’s this one scene where they're driving in the car and Bill tells him he's clearly hit his head too many times, and the kid is just like, "Whose head?" and then they start bickering. I was literally on the floor. 😁 😁 😁

I mean, how can a movie be anything but a mess when Santa Claus is a drunk, the kid is overweight and constantly sniffling, and there are little people involved? The only bummer is that since it's a bit of a mainstream hit, some of the jokes couldn't have been even more radical, if you know what I mean.

How to build real self-confidence? in Psychology ·
Look, I’ll tell you one thing—go down to the Social Security office and just be polite. You'll get treated like a total hero. But if you go in there acting like a complete jerk? Yeah, you're gonna have a bad time.
And hey, if you want to act tough, you gotta be Confident first.

On another note, let's talk about being Confident. Let's see... who handles criticism better, someone with high self-esteem or someone who's totally unsure of themselves? Honestly, you can only actually improve if you can take some feedback. Lacking confidence is like being stuck in quicksand—it's a real struggle to climb out.
Then again, whether people are Confident or not, they're all going to react to criticism differently. At the end of the day, how you handle critique doesn't really have much to do with your level of confidence anyway.

Is it As Good as it Gets? Or maybe Goodfellas. Then there's Scarface. Or maybe something like the Wild West. Or Brazil. Or The Way of the Samurai—basically any Jarmusch's flick. And then you've got those killer adaptations from books, like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or L.A. Confidential. Plus that Aki Kaurismäki movie... whatever it was.
I mean, seriously, can any book beat Halle Berry's curves? Name one. How about Kate Winslet in Titanic? Or Sharon Stone's look in Dirty Passion?
The sheer terror in The Exorcist. That look from Antoni Perkins in Psycho.

Books have their perks over movies, sure, just like they have their flaws. Take a Kaufman adaptation. Or the Coen brothers' Big Lebowski. Or maybe Collinswood. 😕

It’s not really about whether a book is "better" than a movie, right? It's like saying a painting is better than a sculpture... it doesn't even make sense.

Things have shifted over time—you know how it goes.

Maybe slydrifter39 will end up being their opening act now—kind of like how it was with Zeppelin... Is it just me, or is the turnout for this concert looking pretty thin? Probably just some crappy organization, right? 😁 😁 😁

Man, you guys are soft—back when I was your age, we were using our teeth to slaughter goats. Forget all that damn drugs and nonsense. And don't even get me started on Kurt Cobain and that whole "I'm too depressed to live" act... honestly, you guys overrate him way too much. He wasn't some legendary star or whatever. Just... yikes.

hollowhawk15 said:I haven't actually told her yet that it bothers me—I figured she’d just grow out of it eventually, but nope... still happening.

The real kicker is her friend... she goes out to "make amends" with guys, which basically means moping around a crowd of dudes and then hitting up after-parties, whether they're private or not. And since my girl is always with her... I don't know. When I stop and think about it, I realize I'm being irrational and shouldn't be feeling this way, but man, the anxiety is still there. How does that even happen? 😕

I think you should say: Just talk to her. 😁 😁 😁

Seriously, just have a conversation, man. Tell her what's eating at you—just like you did here. She might not change her social life entirely, but maybe she can reassure you that she isn't looking for trouble like her friend is. We all deal with stupid anxieties, right? A solid relationship is built on being open. Be the tough guy here on the forum if you have to, but at home? It's okay to feel vulnerable and just vent.

I'm worried about you, man. Being honest about feeling foolish is usually how real conversations start. Just share... sharing is caring. 😁 😁

Sandra King86 said:I mean, how much of a moron do you have to be for life to just work out like that—both in reality and in the drama? Love at first sight... just doesn't fly here.

Heh, we could totally look at his situation from a different angle. Like, maybe the guy was already miserable with his life, and when he saw an anđeo being kicked out of her place because of some bureaucratic mess, he finally found his "calling." That urge to help her—to actually feel useful—is what sparked the love. She wasn't the cause; she was just the excuse he needed to finally fix his life.
Midlife crises aren't just something pulled out of a textbook.

As for the actor himself, he's giving me total Tim Roth vibes.

Just finished the drama. Man, I’m all about that modern stuff—it’s wild how the author even came up with such a massive story in the first place. He had an Iranian neighbor, a refugee colonel, and this woman who lost her house over just $500. So he basically wondered: what happens if an Iranian moves into that house?
The way everything plays out—where nobody is really the villain, or rather, everyone is guilty but just caught up in the mess—that feels totally real to me. It's something you could actually see happening.
Watching movies like this is tough because you know the gun is loaded by the first act. You just don't know whose head is gonna take it in the end. Well, Richard Hernandez13 already knows. 😛 That's why it feels so "overcooked," right?
Heavy stuff. Honestly, I’m not usually one for these kinds of dramas. I tried watching it five times, but kept switching to something lighter. Why can't we be friends? 😁 😁
The human connections and why the characters do what they do... man, that was excellent. Real drama. It stays true to the book, too. Just a heavy ride. You gotta watch twenty action flicks before tackling one of these, otherwise your brain might actually explode. 😁 😁

Maybe about rebuilding America?😕

They seemed pretty "happy" back in those days!

That's what their "struggle" gave them, right?👎

What do you guys think... what's the actual political goal here?

a.) Just tourism

b.) Some desperate old-school nostalgics looking for trouble

c.) A gathering of some pretty shady intentions...

🙄

They were talking about your blog! 😲

They see you as a threat. They’ve been digging into your stuff, and apparently, you're the only thing standing in the way of a New America.

I tried sticking up for you, but they just weren't having it. 😁 😁
