Man, seriously, that massive crowd hanging out in front of the KSET building just trying to snag a ticket? They were making so much noise they probably gave every neighbor within five blocks a heart attack! 😬
As far as I'm concerned, it's the perfect ratio. It knocks you down just enough, then gives you a chance to catch your breath and clear your head right when you need it. 😬
Drew Adams58 said:Oh my god, I actually tried reading this review all the way through and just totally gave up. Seriously, though—does this mean I'm gonna see the Pope and some heavy metal legend hanging out together this Monday? I haven't seen a crossover that wild since those college radio DJs went off the rails.
"...The Illuminati gathered a think tank of scientists whose whole mission was to engineer one superior race to wipe everyone else out and rule the planet exactly how it should be run—by superhumans."
It’s a total black hole of logic. Like, seriously, why would ANYONE ever set out to build something with the express goal of self-destruction? It’s like saying, "Hey, let me invent a gun just so I can pull the trigger the second it actually works!" Makes zero sense, right?
"...who needs to feel the love of God, Jesus Christ, because he just can't find any meaning in this life without a higher power, so he fights on the side of Good."
🙂 sorry, didn't realize you were pulling guard duty at the watchtower. 🙂
I honestly just romanticize that whole era between Napster dying out and Soulseek actually showing up. I remember sitting there with my 56k modem, grinding through downloads for hours just to snag some obscure Arab Strap tracks or whatever. We’re talking three measly megabytes taking all night—from 10 PM straight through to 3 AM. And then, boom, total crash. Here's a clip of Moffat saying that if he had a vagina, he'd totally sleep with Bruce Willis. Then broadband hits, and after a massive phase of obsessively downloading everything in sight, I just... stopped. I completely lost interest in that whole massive catalog, with a few exceptions here and there. When was the last time I actually sat down and listened to an entire album from start to finish? Yesterday. Seriously, you guys. It lasted maybe twelve blessed minutes before I checked out. Our attention spans have basically gone down the drain, and honestly? The whole concept of the "album" as a format is dying right along with them.
The mandelbrot set was actually pretty decent, more than I expected. Highlight of the night: that finale.
Those 777 glasses? Top tier. Honestly, though, they had even better stuff back in Greenwich—they weren't playing these over-the-top, dramatic hits to close out the set; instead, they did this killer, high-energy rehearsal of their hits just for friends and skydivers. Highlights (just a few picks): the part where they shouted "Play U2!" and that massive, soul-cleansing anthem at the end of the set.
I honestly don't get Alice in Wonderland anymore, and I'm fine with leaving it at that. Highlight of the moment: when France stops playing to protest, and then the band just kicks off again with another track.

...plus, the trailer is out here using ringbearer fonts and a remix of Mansell's Lux Aeterna straight from the LOTR : TTT trailer. 🙄
Oh, boo-hoo! Seriously? Like, people don't care when this stuff happens in the other 8,909 movies out there, but suddenly it’s a huge deal now? What is it exactly that's bothering everyone so much..?
