Wait, so why wouldn't I?
Alright.
You keep going on and on about how that music just doesn't belong here.
Can you actually explain why?

And while we're at it, what does being a Religious Fanatic have to do with, I don't know, that song you were listening to?

I mean, there are Religious Fanatics everywhere. Just look at those judgmental creeps popping up on that show over on NBC.
"What do you mean Indian? That was totally Muslim."

Wait, what are you even basing that on?
The way they're wailing?

"But I'm just not into it: all that Allah stuff and whatever."

Man, you don't know a thing about it, yet here you are talking like an expert on Muslim culture!

[I mean, for example, I can't stand it when a singer like Bruce Springsteen starts belting out: "Oh, God, I'm too much hers."]

Pi.

And then there's:

Fight Club.
Donnie Darko (mostly just for the Duran Duran and Tears for Fears vibes 🙂).
Ocean's Eleven, hands down.
Plus pretty much anything else by Tarantino.

But honestly? Pi still blows everything else out of the water.

for those of you who don't speak Italian...

"hey Chris, where can I find that bed over there? I'm super curious about finding out why I personally want to use whatever material from Mud to add to the meeting so they can archive the stuff at FOX. I've never been caught wanting to use anything from the
"
and

"hey Chris, I'm giving in, I think my friend's check is basically the Portland Trail Blazers. Thanks so much for your help, try to connect with Walter (who I think is the leader of the Mud) and give him my email address—it would be awesome if they could print their LP + their first solo thing and then just archive it all at FOX. I actually know Lester Bangs, so could you ask if he can help track down that material? Let me know! hey Pier, do you have George's address?"

...but honestly, American doesn't even help here. 🙂

[It’s actually creepy. Out of all those joke characters, I swear Barun is probably the happiest. Every single win in sports somehow manages to give them a total career reboot.]

Or, you know, if you actually have any self-respect left, maybe skip it entirely.

Total garbage.
What have we learned from movies? in Movies ·
You know those classic sci-fi or horror flicks where a little group gets absolutely wrecked by some unknown evil? The cast is always perfectly balanced, isn't it? They've got everyone covered—different religions, different races, genders, ages... even different career paths.

And somehow, there's always just enough survivors left over so that even a random Black gay nuclear physicist from Nepal who happens to be a liberal Jehovah's Witness would walk away feeling totally satisfied with the lineup.

So, is there any actual chance we'll see Billy the Kid rolling back into KSET again?

Mr. Wrong said:Look, I can't stand all that New Age nonsense myself, but man, feralgardener502, you really crossed a line there. It's totally obvious why nobody wants to debate you! When you tell someone they're "boring" and need to "get lost," that isn't an invitation to chat—it's a fight waiting to happen. What is your problem, seriously?

I'm telling you.
I was being perfectly polite (well, except for my first post where I went a bit overboard and basically covered myself in shame already) and when this kid asked me what my deal was with their music, I gave him a full-blown, detailed breakdown of how I hear it.
Didn't throw a single insult his way, either.

And then, out of nowhere—instead of giving me a real answer or even just staying quiet—he just decides I'm talking nonsense and that I'll "never understand" HIS explanation.
Puhleeze.

Honestly, if he had just said what he just wrote, we would've been fine...
but I just can't stand people acting all condescending and patronizing.

Man, for real: that Requiem by Mozart was played so much it felt like it was on constant loop on ABC or NBC. 🙂

... I mean, Mozart is probably spinning in his grave right now. He’s likely created his own little micro-orbit just from how much they spun his stuff!

What do you think about those bands in, say, the old Ford commercials from a couple years back? If I remember right, didn't they fit right into "your" genre?

Anyway, memory is a total liar. 🙂

And yeah... music used in commercials hits totally different—mostly because its whole purpose is different than this half-baked stuff we're debating here.

Oh, yeah!

[I mean, honestly, I’m not totally sure, but I think he was performing somewhere in the last year or two. Yay! 🙂]
Best (and worst) movie theaters? in Movies ·
"Hands down, the absolute worst theater I've ever stepped foot in is Kustošija... and I mean convincingly, spectacularly the worst ever... I mean, who even has the nerve to call that dump a cinema?..."

That's not a movie house.
It’s just Kustošija. My bad, Kustošija.
In her case, the whole value system is just completely backwards.
Honestly, calling Kustošija a cinema would be a straight-up insult. 🙂

But hey, if they screen 'Gone with the Wind' there one more time, screw it, I am DEFINITELY going to see it. 🙂

slyrider16 said:On the flip side, the college student center is absolute trash. Or at least it was three years ago when I last stepped foot in there... we went to see Pleasantville and there were only 7 of us in a theater that seats over a thousand!!! Creepy experience, brrr.

Ha!
Location: the stadium.
Movie: The Relic.
Attendance: 5 people.

First five minutes were totally silent.

Beat that! 🙂

And America is just way too sympathetic. Terrible sound, tiny screen, and crappy seats.
I almost caught myself waiting for your mother to bring me some cookies and juice.

[Best part: I'm watching X-Men in America. Sound is too low. I'm basically whispering to myself, "Turn it up." Then this random old guy sitting in the single row gets up, walks out of the "theater," heads into the projection booth, and cranks the volume. 🙂 Or something like that happened. Oh yeah. Attendance: 3 people. Barely.]

Look, I’ll be honest—I actually thought you might have the guts to step up.

But hey, let’s be real, I already knew you wouldn't be able to pull it off with your limited bandwidth anyway, so I wasn't really sweating it.

Now just beat it and stop clogging up my feed with your nonsense.
Electronic / EDM in Music ·
Go ahead, keep throwing shade if it makes you feel better. I already know exactly what kind of person you are, and honestly? It’s just a massive waste of my time.

I mean, I can't say I'm surprised you actually had the nerve to show up.

Man, seriously, how can someone be this freaking boring?

Bryan Martin31 said:What does it matter if some random tunes were playing in malls or elevators? How on earth is that messing with your head?
-------
Look, Vangelis, Jarre, or Oldfield are just on a whole different level—way more serious and sophisticated artists.

Oh my gosh!
If I were some insanely talented musician, and the Recording Academy actually gave me an award for being one of the most influential artists ever, I would honestly die of pure embarrassment if I heard my "masterpieces" being used as background noise to fill the GODDAMN SILENCE in an elevator.

Do you get what I'm saying now?
Music from a TRULY gifted artist isn't gonna be playing in crappy elevators, during lottery drawings, or in those boring waiting rooms at the local news station...
Electronic / EDM in Music ·
Bryan Martin31 said:Your "arguments" basically boil down to "it's boring," "it's annoying," and "just go listen to Stockhausen." Seriously? Such witty, deep analogies. Total nonsense.

Look, I already apologized for being a bit too cocky when I brought up Stockhausen.

Those weren't arguments, they were just observations! Which I then went on to explain.
And those analogies? They weren't meant to be funny, they were—look.
I get it, nobody wants to read a massive wall of text on a screen.
Fine, you do it, and then tell me exactly where I messed up.
Until then, just like I did with Richard Howard2, I’m sending you one—albeit a slightly gentler—brush off. 😉

----------------------
In the meantime....
Let me remind you:
I remember being a kid and having Mike Oldfield playing on loop on those old MTV clips. Pretty sure he made half his fortune just from people using his tracks during those segments.
Then there was Vangelis playing in the background of some morning educational show hosted by Paar.
Yanni probably hit the big time once the national news editors finally noticed him a few years back.
As for Jean-Michel Jarre, I don't remember him—probably repressed those memories.
And honestly, who wouldn't?

Doesn't this exact analogy PROVE my point about how boring and soulless they are?

If you happened to be a musician, would you want to be known as "that guy who played during the afternoon news," "the guy who was on during a flight," or "the guy I heard in a super slow elevator and I'm still dealing with the trauma from that day"...?
I highly doubt it...

[By the way, since you're bringing up my "nonsense," feel free to quote it. It'll make it way easier for me to shut you down without breaking a sweat. 🙂 🙂 🙂 ]
