forum help fo-ru-m he-l-p 🙂 So, look, if you're actually struggling with this, you can just right-click anywhere on your desktop, hit properties, and then you should be able to set whatever resolution you want there
I’ll let the mods sort out the specifics once I see what's actually going on, though my gut tells me this is all just some big reunion for that one famous inner circle
grunfe, you can laugh all you want, but honestly, don't push your luck trying to see exactly how much patience I have left in me
Look, nobody is actually stopping you from starting new threads or posting whatever you want here ; however, the whole "wall" thing isn't going to happen again, nor will we allow it to be permitted . That's already been made more than clear enough times already .
I’m honestly dying to know what Samuel Palmer10 would have to say about the idea that Michael Lee4 is playing favorites. 😁 As far as everything else goes, people on Reddit don't really see how much a moderator actually intervenes in a thread, so it can easily look like they're just picking sides or targeting someone specifically. Personally, I think a lot of other mods would be way more aggressive than Michael Lee4, who's actually pretty laid back just to keep the discussions lively and prevent the subreddits from becoming totally sterile.
It would be absolutely ideal if we could reach a point where we’re actually tearing apart someone’s policies and actions without making it a personal vendetta against the individual themselves. I mean, honestly, I’m not entirely sure how you even pull that off with politicians, especially since they tend to bake their entire identity right into the legislation they push through Congress, so it all gets blurred together anyway. In the meantime, though, public figures need to realize that being in the spotlight means being fair game for scrutiny, and they really ought to keep that in mind before they go chasing after high-ranking offices and all the perks that come with them. Ultimately, it falls on the moderators to make that call—deciding whether a specific comment is legitimate criticism of an idea or if it’s just someone being a jerk and dragging the whole conversation down into the gutter.
Right now, Tyndall and I are handling the admin duties here, so if you’re planning on posting anything, I’d really appreciate it if you could actually back up your claims with some solid reasoning instead of just shouting into the void. You’re more than welcome to lay out any specific issues you've run into right here, though.
Next time around, we’re all going to be tossing stuff in here to get ironed out 🙂 By the time you finally wrap this up, the forum will probably have evolved to the point where we're all just sitting around like 3D avatars in some virtual lounge, having actual face-to-face conversations instead of typing
You’re actually looking for the help forum if you want an answer, and just so you know, there isn't any way to change your username to something that's already taken elsewhere.
Maybe take a second to actually think before you go starting another high-quality thread here this one is clearly beyond repair at this point, so even the mods didn't really have much of a choice in what they did and yeah, let's dial back the rhetoric in here, if you please
Professor, look, your post was completely off-topic and basically just straight-up spam, so it’s perfectly reasonable that he got flagged I mean, sure, it might be funny in some twisted way, but if you're asking whether it actually deserves any real credit—it doesn't From here on out, feel free to write wherever you want, really, just don't spam the threads, don't play the troll, and don't start being disrespectful... if you can manage that, we won't have any issues
So, I have to ask: is making fun of the Catholic Church allowed here, but saying anything against the Orthodox Church is off-limits? Is this because of the moderator's own background, or is there some other reason for the double standard? 🤷
redcrane63, were you the one who reported those specific posts?
First off, sorry I’m running a bit behind schedule here. Secondly, if you ask me, the post is perfectly fine; it basically just lays out how stripping away fundamental freedoms is a direct path toward an inevitable collision . I didn't see any kind of threat directed at Muslims in there, especially since even certain parts of Christian doctrine feel a bit outdated by today's standards anyway . As I see it, the whole thing is really about broader, universal values
It’s not really about whether you can start a thread or not, it’s more about the actual way you go about opening one, if you catch my drift. I mean, you really ought to provide some sort of proper introduction, a central concept or a core idea that acts as the backbone for the whole discussion moving forward. And look, this isn't just some case of moderator power trips or arbitrary rules made up on the fly; it's about maintaining a certain standard of quality that applies far beyond just any single American message board.
