I’m convinced it’s because their brains can’t tell the difference between substance and style, which is honestly just an embarrassment to this entire forum
Why on earth did you guys ban Linda Price5 over here?? The woman is absolutely spot on Is this really happening just because she used the word damn or freaking??
And just imagine if we actually had to sit there and debate whether it was genuine trolling or just someone intentionally derailing the whole conversation 😁
Is the name of something really the most important thing about it? I mean, I don't know, it just doesn't feel that way to me, especially for people who actually give a damn about having a conversation that isn't cluttered with useless noise and distractions.
Honestly, you could just rename the "trolling" category to "discussion obstruction" (which, let’s be real, is exactly what trolling is anyway) and nothing would actually change. It would stay exactly the same as it's always been, except maybe for those niche scientists who spend their entire lives obsessively studying the genetic differences between an elephant and a housefly.
loneraven25 said:...honestly, looking at the big picture here, this entire discussion shouldn't even be happening because it’s targeting the personal life and actions of a moderator, someone who just happens to volunteer his spare time on a forum, making things simpler for everyone to communicate... ...now, if someone were to actually prove that he's browsing these forum pages during his official working hours, then sure, you might have some grounds for suspicion... but as far as any other possible solutions go, I’m going to lean on his legal protections: The Code of Ethics for Federal Employees,
A federal employee is obligated, within the scope of their authority, to ensure the realization of rights and the respect of the integrity and dignity of citizens and other federal employees without discrimination or favoritism based on age, nationality, ethnic or social affiliation, linguistic or racial origin, political or religious beliefs or inclinations, disability, education, social status, gender, marital or family status, sexual orientation, or on any other basis.
So, I really want to point out that you all seem to be on a bit of a witch hunt here, and by doing so, you're unacceptably interfering with his professional duties and his right to work...
A federal employee has the right to protection from harassment—that is, behavior intended to, or which actually represents, an affront to the dignity of the employee, which creates fear or a hostile, humiliating, or offensive environment.
Look, I'm sorry, but who honestly gives a damn about his—or your—personal code of ethics?? We're talking about forum handles and how moderators behave, and it's not just about John, at least not from where I'm sitting. Personally, I think he's a great guy, really easy to get along with, and I'd happily grab a beer and sit through a long conversation with him any day of the week. But there is stuff happening on that subforum that isn't right, and it’s become a bit of an established pattern lately. Since John is part of that dynamic, it's pretty obvious that if he's out there deleting random posts and crushing any actual criticism or debate, people are going to complain about it.
Honestly, screw the whole "life and works" nonsense. 😁 Where did you even learn to pull these kinds of gymnastic stunts?
John, honestly, the biggest issue here is how they’re just killing any actual discussion and strangling free speech it's straight out of some authoritarian playbook 🙂 from the outside, it might look like they're actually moderating or putting in a lot of effort, but that couldn't be further from the truth if you want to be moderated in a way where everything is reduced to nothing but rigid questions and answers, then go ahead and move over to a corporate platform like LinkedIn
The rule against sharing private messages doesn't apply when it comes to moderation and admin duties
Besides, the whole PDF situation is basically suffocated and sterilized at this point, and honestly, the worst part is that the mods just roll over and accept it because it means they have less work to do while they sit pretty in their fancy little offices.
If they bump that limit up to a thousand, we’re right back to square one where people who don't constantly clear out their inboxes won't be able to receive any messages at all when the time comes. It’s honestly bizarre how nobody seems to bother setting up those massive 40-liter mailboxes in front of their houses anymore, isn't it?
Linda Price5 said:No, he's simply advocating for slapping kids with ADHD—and he's slapping his own while he's at it. 😁
Since I know you aren't exactly short on brains, I can only conclude that you’re being intentionally malicious because absolutely nobody on the forums has said a single word about punishing sick children
but everyone seems perfectly fine with punishing the kids who weren't paying attention during reading comprehension exercises back in school...
And just how far can this actually go? Is the end goal just rolling our eyes and acting disgusted at the whole mess?
If anyone here has actually taken the time to sit down and read through the Family Law, please, by all means, point out just ONE parent who hasn't broken it already. And if you manage to find one, I’ll happily return the favor by pointing out a parent who couldn't care less about their kid and should probably be facing prosecution for neglect.
On MK, the whole debate is actually pretty reasonable, considering the core issue is how some people choose to label certain behaviors as hyperactivity Maybe I’m just not dim-witted or dull enough for my own good, but personally, I haven't noticed any actual, attention-grabbing problem on MK
Honestly, we might as well just shut this whole forum down right now, because the second people actually start having a real conversation or debating anything, someone inevitably says something that doesn't align perfectly with their delicate sensibilities and ends up hurting their little feelings.
And since we love nothing more than weaponizing the law whenever it suits our specific narrative, it’s worth noting that the Supreme Court has already weighed in on how parents have the right to discipline their children, including physical discipline, when it's appropriate. But of course, we all know better than the highest court in the land, because clearly our kids are all perfectly behaved and enlightened, raised by their incredibly brilliant, well-read, and sophisticated parents.
You don't even need to bother sending anything over; the people who actually need to see it can just dig up the deleted posts themselves just hang tight until crimsonsailor7 gets back to you, or maybe one of the admins will chime in
mistybear87 said:Are you actually looking for an answer to that? 😬
Not really, but here’s the thing—if the new house rules say that self-promotion and advocacy are officially encouraged... look, it just feels wrong when those rules seem to only apply to a handful of insiders, basically just a tight-knit circle of buddies among the mods. We’ve got thousands of users out here blooming in the wild, 😁
mistybear87 said:hey, take it down a notch, we aren't supposed to be having these kinds of debates here; leave that for the mods. besides, you really should know better if you used to be a moderator, because playing "lawyer" is strictly against the rules and definitely earns you a penalty...
when was the last time you actually sat on the moderation team? 😁
