Look, buddy, if you're feeling particularly enlightened—especially when it comes to offering a helping hand—I'm pretty certain you can always find people in your own neck of the woods who could use some assistance. We all have those moments where our hearts swell and empathy takes over, though unfortunately, common sense doesn't always kick in for everyone at the same time. And let's be real, sometimes that kindness gets taken advantage of. 🙂 Even if it doesn't, there are countless situations where help is either requested or desperately needed, so is it really fair to discriminate based on who's getting more coverage in the news?
Nobody actually wants these people around, yet they somehow manage to push their way into every single space, constantly insisting that they have some kind of fundamental right to be there.
It’s basically just a weapon for activists, a way to effectively silence anyone else who dares to speak up because even if the formal complaint doesn't actually go anywhere, they still win by making someone's life a total nightmare and let’s be honest, there is a massive difference between a coordinated mob or some organized little clique acting in unison versus just a bunch of individuals standing by their own personal convictions and views but then comes the noise, the hysteria, all that blowing things out of proportion and the constant insinuations, which serves one purpose: it scares off the reasonable people and leaves behind nothing but the die-hard zealots
in my opinion, the administration needs to make a choice here—is this forum meant to be a space where people actually gather to have a conversation, or is it just becoming a dumping ground for political pamphlets and manifestos?
So, I was wondering, do you deal with frequent headaches, mood swings, or those specific stretches where you just get hit by this overwhelming, heavy drowsiness?

As for personal preferences, I suppose she survived the shock, but I wouldn't call this a violation of the right to diversity; rather, it feels more like an attempt to question whether certain sub-forums even have a right to their own distinct identity. Since they have Advertisements on the US site, I guess they're trying to light everything up over there... the other day, there was even an Ad where a user was looking for a roommate to share an apartment, mentioning she had a washing machine and that the utilities weren't too expensive, and so on and so forth.
And apparently, you aren't even allowed to post that you're looking for a girlfriend anymore. 😁 Honestly, who knows what they actually mean when they write "I have a washing machine"??
Moderators actually need to have some judgment and know how to evaluate things, otherwise they’d be totally useless and we could just let a script handle their entire job But seriously, unless you're one of those mods or admins who thinks sex is somehow gross or tacky, is there any actual reason why people can't just find someone they click with and go at it? Take counterfeit designer goods, for instance—people rip them off and sell them constantly without anyone blinking an eye, yet here we are. Sex is just a perfectly legal activity between two consenting adults, and the only real obstacle right now is the weird hang-up living inside some people's heads. It honestly feels unfair that this US Forum has to deal with the fallout just because certain individuals don't know how to enjoy themselves properly.
Honestly, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened, so I’d take everything those news reporters are shouting about with a massive grain of salt 🙂 Just hang tight for now, because who knows, maybe we'll all get hit by a tsunami or some other catastrophe instead
People have pleaded with everyone here more times than I can count to stop the trolling and actually stick to the facts and arguments instead of just shouting but honestly, it’s pretty obvious certain people had an agenda from the start, and the moderators basically sat on their hands and let this whole thread go up in flames; they just ignored the reports until it was too late, letting everyone descend into total toxicity once the conversation was already dead in the water anyway
In my book, it’s completely unacceptable to let a discussion fall apart like this just because some activists decided to stage a hit job, and frankly, it says everything you need to know about the quality and the supposed "democratic" nature of this forum's leadership I get that people have strong feelings and deep-seated disagreements, but this level of moderation is nothing short of a total disgrace and I find it hard to believe any of this happened by accident
Even though my posts on here tend to vanish into thin air instantly—instead of getting an actual response or even just someone correcting the nonsense being peddled—I’m holding out hope that this one might actually stick around long enough for us to stop playing dumb and pretending that the term doesn't exist or isn't used in common conversation And honestly, if anyone recognizes themselves in that description, well, they know it
And honestly, what's the actual point of knowing all this stuff—like who’s driving which car, what kind of phone they’re carrying, or even what color underwear they're wearing today?
Look, I don't work in admin or anything, but I’ve spent enough time scrolling through alternative health forums to see plenty of stuff that has absolutely zero connection to actual brain science, let alone real medicine Personally, I'm not against people using whatever helps them feel better, even if it hasn't been officially cleared by the FDA or whatever But just because something isn't regulated doesn't mean any random Joe can show up with some half-baked nonsense he cooked up in his garage and try to peddle it as a miracle cure to scam and mislead people
Honestly, I think you all might have finally lost it, and you’re seriously overdoing it with all the dramatic labels you're throwing around during these little internal competitions for "animal welfare." 🙂 The core idea behind the whole thing is actually pretty solid and positive, but at some point, the entire situation just spiraled completely out of control and went way overboard with the theatrics.
Sam Green73 said:That right there is the absolute linchpin of your whole argument. If I didn't already know that being "sharp and savvy" was what we were actually talking about, I’d probably be sitting here asking what kind of caliber we're dealing with.
But anyway, what's your actual take on this? Where do we draw the line between debating whether certain laws actually mesh together versus just arguing over the specific amendments to those laws?
yeah, sharp and savvy 🙂 along with all the messy implications those qualities carry for someone acting as a moderator for one of the most notoriously difficult sub-forums on this entire site, which, if you look closely at my previous post and the questions you've been throwing out, are actually pretty clearly laid out.
goldengull3 said:Why not? This is just your typical topic cooked up by politicians, and since statutory interest rates are, by their very definition, established by law, we’ll be more than happy to sit down and crunch the numbers to see if they actually applied them correctly or if they completely missed the mark.
If they decide to start changing the rules on us, the solution is actually pretty straightforward—we just rent a dumpster, slap a poster on a telephone pole, and see if we can scrape together enough votes to clear the threshold like any other group of Americans. It’s a right we all hold in a political system functioning as a republic, after all.
goldengull3, you’ve actually broken down the logic behind various regulations and decisions more than a few times now, and I have to admit that I’ve learned quite a bit from you and your explanations, even if there were moments where I was probably shaking my head at you because I completely disagreed or just couldn't wrap my mind around your point of view.
Look, you aren't going to get an explanation for that from someone who can't even calibrate a resonator, so you really need actual legal expertise if you want to get anywhere with this. You have to dig deep to figure out whether you're dealing with the root of some specific regulation or federal law, what kind of industry standard is being applied, or if there’s just a massive need to overhaul everything because the current rules are completely clashing with common sense or the Constitution. We aren't even talking about politics yet, let alone the heavy hitters like Congress, organized lobbying, or any serious push for legislative reform. All of that stuff is just noise until we actually get the facts on the table and establish what we're dealing with first.
I honestly think we can all agree on this one thing: the Bills being tossed around in Congress aren't actually written by any of our representatives, but rather by some random drivers just sitting around waiting for their politicians to finally crawl out of their latest happy hour. Honestly, I really don't get why there’s such a massive pushback against these changes, especially when you've spent so much of your own time helping Forum members wrap their heads around how the legal system actually functions.

Allow me to share a brief anecdote from my own life:
I was once driving home when I encountered a massive road construction site about a hundred yards ahead. This happened near an intersection where turning left is strictly prohibited by a sign. Naturally, that no-left-turn sign exists to prevent cutting off oncoming traffic, but there was absolutely no oncoming traffic to speak of, as the other side of the intersection was completely blocked by the construction zone.
Since we don't have helicopters to fly over the mess, and the sign was utterly nonsensical in this context, we all took the left turn. Just around the corner, we were intercepted by two police officers who greeted us with the classic line, "A rule is a rule." 🤣
Some drivers before us had already been shaken down for cash, but I decided to rebel a bit, attempting to explain that the sign was meaningless given the construction site blocking the crossroad.
They didn't initially possess enough integrity or common sense to grasp the situation, but eventually, they did. They didn't shake down the rest of the group of drivers stopped with me, and they eventually cleared out of there...
So, even if it was by the narrowest of margins, they realized it is far better to use one's intellect than to parrot the phrase "a rule is a rule" like a mindless bird. That link I shared was about police officers who actually exercised their conscience.
I truly wish that things like what those two officers managed to realize could also be understood by Brian Edwards6 and the other moderators on this site.
Why should a forum, which is intended to be a place for discussion, have its standards lowered to a brainless repetition of "a rule is a rule," when those two officers managed to rise above that, however tenuously?
let me tell you how it works: you don't get anywhere by getting into a shouting match with a cop. you explain your perspective, and if they don't get it—well, let them write the ticket. after that, you can either sit around waiting for the fine and then appeal it, or you can politely report the officer to Internal Affairs and complain about what is essentially harassment.
If you just argue on the spot, all you're doing is causing a scene and creating problems for yourself, and that is NOT how you resolve anything. I’ve lost my temper with highway patrol before, too, but I didn't go screaming at them or trying to start a fight. Instead, I filed a formal complaint. I ended up looking like a fool because all I got was a ruling from a judge and a tiny extra fee tacked onto the fine—which is frankly disgusting and definitely worth debating in terms of judicial principles—so now I’m stuck writing an appeal for an appeal, hoping one day I'll get the chance to explain the situation to someone who isn't operating with a single functioning neuron.
