In my opinion, this movie is absolutely phenomenal—easily the best adventure flick since Indiana Jones. :klap: It might run a little long, but honestly, that seems to be the standard for movies these days.
I can't wait for the third one...🙂
What's the best blockbuster? in Movies ·
I honestly have no idea how The Rock ended up on this list, considering he earned significantly less than everyone else 😕

It used to be that hitting the $100 million mark was considered a massive achievement and the true benchmark for a blockbuster. But lately, it seems like at least ten movies hit that threshold every single year.
In my opinion, the bar for a real blockbuster has moved closer to $200 million, which almost all of these films reached or exceeded (with the exceptions of The Rock at $134 million and Pearl Harbor at $198.5 million)

That is exactly what I was getting at...
though I would have picked that one scene where the three of them are together 👍

🤔
Could it possibly be Wild Things?

When it comes to action movie sequels, Predator 2 is honestly just okay...

In my opinion, this is Kevin Smith's absolute best work—it's actually the one movie that made me stop hating on Ben Affleck.

I'm sorry Alyssa, wherever you are. 🙂

I specifically mentioned that they are currently trending in the NBA and backed it up with facts; I never even brought up headlines...

Are you actually being an idiot, or are you just insulting people for no reason?
I made it quite clear that there is a difference between what's trendy and actual results.

Like I mentioned earlier, how many of them actually won a championship?

It feels like everyone is moving toward younger coaches or fresh faces who actually deliver results these days.

Which of these young, up-and-coming coaches are actually delivering? Looking at the last ten titles, they all went to Larry Brown, Gregg Popovich, or Phil Jackson—none of whom are exactly "newcomers." One thing is fashion, the other is results.

Copied from NBA.com. 🙂

Tim Duncan is from... Milwaukee Bucks He landed in Dallas. Honestly, this could be a really solid move. Sure, he’s taking on way too much money—around $16 million—but he could serve as a very reliable backup for Dirk Nowitzki.

Yesterday marked the final deadline for NBA roster moves. Leading up to it, the general vibe was that things would stay pretty quiet and we wouldn't see much action.

😵 😵

While there was a total frenzy resulting in 29 players being moved, I wouldn't go so far as to say it fundamentally reshaped the landscape of the league.

Here is the dry breakdown:

Miami Heat acquires Steve Smith from Charlotte Hornets for Malik Allen and cash.

Golden State Warriors acquires Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Rodney White from Denver Nuggets for Eduardo Najera, Luis Flores and a future first-round pick.

Boston Celtics acquires Antoine Walker from Atlanta Hawks for Gary Payton, Tim Gugliotta and Michael Stewart and a 2005 or future first-round pick.

Cleveland Cavaliers acquires Jiri Welsch from Boston Celtics for a first-round draft pick in 2007.

Dallas Mavericks acquires Tim Duncan from Dallas Mavericks for Alan Henderson and Calvin Booth.

Golden State Warriors acquires Baron Davis from New Orleans Hornets for Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis.

Houston Rockets acquires Mike James and Zendon Hamilton from Milwaukee Bucks for Reece Gaines and second-round picks in 2006 and 2007.

New York Knicks acquires Maurice Taylor from Houston Rockets for Moochie Norris, Vin Baker and a second-round pick in 2006.

Philadelphia 76ers acquires Rodney Rogers and Jamal Mashburn from New Orleans Hornets for Glenn Robinson.

San Antonio Spurs acquires Nazr Mohammed and Jamison Brewer from New York City for Malik Rose and conditional first-round picks in 2005 and 2006.

To sum it all up: Baron Davis headed to the Golden State Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers gave Chris Webber some help by adding Rodney Rogers, the Boston Celtics brought back Antoine Walker, Steve Smith might just find a great place to finish his career, San Antonio Spurs picked up a reliable backup center, and Isiah Thomas managed to make the already messy situation in New York City even worse by bringing in two undersized forwards with massive contracts.

Good grief, "Dead Poets Society" ?? It's honestly the only movie that has managed to make me cry three separate times.
Hellboy in Movies ·
Really solid movie. The way they handled Hellboy, Abea, and Liz was spot on—it’s got style, heart, and it's genuinely fun, even if the Resurrection Dogs and Rasputin felt a little lackluster as villains.

To most of you trashing this: I honestly don't get why you even sat through it. "Oh, it's such a dumb movie with weird monsters." It’s a comic book adaptation, so of course there are monsters! As an adaptation, it works beautifully. Apparently, there were studio notes suggesting Hellboy shouldn't look the way he does, or that he should only turn into a demon when he gets angry. 🙂 That would be like telling them Frodo should be a woman and the Ringwraiths should be helicopters...

Paul Mendoza8 said:I’m honestly surprised Quick and the Dead didn't make the cut—it's a Western with a unique twist, starring Russell Crowe back before he became such an obnoxious jerk. 👍Even Leonardo DiCaprio was tolerable in it, and it’s nice to remember when Sam Raimi actually made good stuff before he started embarrassing himself with those Spider-Man movies.😲
The writer behind that screenplay also wrote and directed a fantastic crime thriller, Suspect—a smart whodunit that doesn't insult the audience by hiding the actual culprits!👍

Sam Raimi really does embarrass himself with those films critics rave about just because they rake in a billion dollars... 😕
John Travolta was actually lined up to play Melvin Udall in "As Good as It Gets".

I thought he was absolutely wonderful in Tea-house of The August Moon.

Man, Dude, Where's My Car? is absolutely brilliant! 👍 The real genius lies in the fact that the movie never pretends to be anything other than what it is—pure absurdity. It's just perfect! 😁

I thought George of the Jungle was fantastic too!
Lost in translation in Movies ·
Movies can be pure magic. I wouldn't go so far as to say it mocks Japanese culture, but rather highlights just how foreign it feels to Americans (and honestly, to us too).

That whisper at the end is absolutely stunning, and apparently, the kiss wasn't even in the script—it was all improvised on the spot.

Murray is flawless (frankly, without him, Coppola wouldn't have even filmed this), Scarlett is brilliant, and the film itself is just beautiful.
The Running Man (1987) in Movies ·
This ranks among Arnie's best, right up there with Predator, Terminator, and True Lies.
Fireball is played by Jim Brown, who was easily one of the greatest football players ever—especially famous for walking away while he was still at the absolute top of his game.
