Comment? Not worth the breath.
Football is run by these committees who only care about safe bets. They don't want some underdog like Monaco making it to the Champions League final. They want everything so predictable they’d probably bribe a ref just to keep things "safe."
But even then, there's always a way out. Sometimes the big fish still get caught in the net...
Speeding ticket - need some advice! in Law ·
So, we just got hit with a speeding notice. Apparently, we blew past the limit on 2/10, which is just great since it’s only been two and a half months since the last one. The local PD has no clue who was behind the wheel—honestly, neither do we—so they're basically asking us to snitch on ourselves so they can slap someone with a fine. Is there any way to wiggle out of this mess? Any loophole or some kind of appeal we can pull? It was around 6 PM on Broadway, so even if someone actually did go over, I’m positive it wasn't more than 9.3 miles/h. Not sure if that even matters.

Thanks for the input, everyone.

Check out the joker in his profile, might have some junk about NASCAR in there. Anywhere else? Good luck. You should've thought of this a week ago instead of five minutes before the deadline if you actually wanted to pull something off. Just being real with you.

What exactly did I say that was so wrong? Look, I said it used to be Perry, now I have no clue who it is, and honestly, I couldn't tell you exactly which year things changed—maybe around 2005, but I’m not making any promises on that.

His name's Perry. Every now and then, Julian swaps him out due to scheduling stuff. At least until around 2005 or whatever.

I don't have ESPN😢

It’s a damn shame nobody is even broadcasting this on any of the channels I actually get around to watching.

Nah, wouldn't touch it.

What an idiot. I was watching Webber out there and the guy spent the whole time just messing around in the car; I can't stand those hyper-competitive types. And everyone knows who The Stig is. They should at least know that.

It’s like trying to invent a whole new World Cup from scratch. I mean, come on. Who’s actually going to sit through that when the real thing is right there?

Not yet, unfortunately. Maybe we'll finally cross paths at some NASCAR fan meetup or something down the road. Would be an honor.🙂

If you ever actually stumble onto this, here’s a little tip: for the next column, maybe throw in some more crazy history stories—like those hunts where they just slept during testing? That stuff was gold. Also, please, stop fighting with modern NASCAR. It is what it is. 🙂

I've always wondered how the whole pit wall and race control setup actually works during an F1 race, and where those weird messages come from, like when they start "investigating car 3 and car 17." 🙂

So here's the shot.

There's one part in the article that's pretty interesting;

The layout of the room is reminiscent of mission control, as seen on TV during shuttle launches. Three rows of desks face forward, looking at a bank of 54 televisions. Each shows a different section of track , Making IT virtually impossible for the delegates to miss an on-track incident – and even if they don’t see something clearly there is always the instantaneous replay button to take away any doubt. >

Besides all those trackside views, race control has a ton of pit lane cameras, speed limit alarms, and sensors for grid positions. There are even nine different circuit maps on the back wall detailing everything from tunnels to bridges and access roads.

>

So, 54 cameras covering every inch of the track. But wait, it gets better. Regulations say every car has to have an onboard camera—the one right above the driver's head—that constantly streams what's happening in front and behind them. You can see that on the 5-second clips the pit wall shows. So that's another 44 cameras right there. Totaling maybe 98 cameras. They used to have one on the back of the safety car too. Don't show it much anymore, but it's probably still there.
And that's not even the end of it. Every car also carries a second onboard camera, though teams get to pick where it goes. We'll just ignore those for now.

Apparently, everyone in that control room—all twenty-something of them—completely missed whatever some random fan caught on their camera (probably just a standard digital camera). It was only after that footage surfaced that the FIA actually did something.

How are you supposed to trust the FIA after that?
Or maybe they just need someone with sharper eyes in that room.

The film sucks. 🙂
People are out here writing paragraphs about every little detail, but you're all just ignoring the fact that the movie is garbage. You're trying to save your precious director by grasping at these profound nonsense ideas instead of just admitting it’s bad, exhausting, and over. Even the legends mess up sometimes.

Sure, the close-ups of faces inches away from the lens are cool. The rabbits are cool. The Polish stuff is cool. And yeah, the atmosphere works.

But if this thing was thirty minutes long instead of three hours, it would actually be a hell of a lot better.
