Forum moderation is a joke in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nancy Rodriguez38 said:"Over 120 expert, highly competent moderators from across the US and around the globe actively guide and curate our discussions to ensure top-tier quality" — that’s what your marketing claims, so I gotta wonder what those 120 "experts" are actually doing all day?

We're just waiting for this place to actually function 😁

And yeah, we're just as pissed off as you are. 😠

But the mods aren't the ones who can fix this mess.

But seriously... "mistycrane19" is actually pretty sick 😁

So what’s the deal with that thread about beating up gays over Lies?

Look, nobody's out there throwing punches because they're in love or watching some smutty video...

That stuff belongs in a different conversation—maybe dive into psychology or just leave it to politics😍

What ads?

Everything’s running fine on my end with both Internet Explorer and Mozilla, no massive half-meter gaps here. 🤷

Matthew Anderson4 said:That example of spam you quoted turned up just 17 minutes after your post complaining about us spamming. Brilliant. Cassandra complex is definitely real.

Asking a few mods who probably feel obligated to protect their buddies: if you don't have anything useful to add to the solution, just stay out of it. Posts like yours or the one from shadowpilot8 aren't helping anyone. Unless the whole goal is just to provoke people, which makes it just as much trolling as the post you quoted.

What am I supposed to do now? Dig through your massive "Zgyawn" posts? ... Honestly, nothing gets under my skin more than these self-proclaimed "geniuses." :booring:

What spam are you even talking about? Someone hits me with a ban for no reason, then I ask why, and suddenly I'm the spammer?
Might as well just shut down the whole site for anyone brave enough to question your calls. 🙄

Like this, for example:

Timothy Wilson60 said:I was actually gonna write a whole reply to you, but then I caught a glimpse of your signature... 🙂

And once they hand out a ban for trolling like that, expect a 15-day suspension 🙂 🙂 — all because someone thinks they were unfairly banned.

What's the catch here? Did everyone get so bored with football that they started using this site just to kill time?

I’m saying it again: the mods need to clear up this "mystery" by splitting the site up and forcing you guys back to your own corner 👍, because otherwise, it looks like you're never leaving...
Sash: Vol. II in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Matthew Anderson4 said:Since the original thread got nuked without a single decent explanation (typical move from our local speed-demon admin), I’m starting this one to solve the mystery. This time, maybe we can actually get some insight into how Sash operates. Honestly, he wouldn't even give me a reason via DM, which makes me think he's just talking in circles. But we aren't born yesterday.

So, the questions are the same—hopefully the answers won't be. I made my own post, but you could also check out the ones by urbanhawk17 or Playlife.
Basically, why is a thread asking to swap existing emojis considered "pointless" and gets the OP banned without warning, while threads asking for brand new emojis stay up without anyone saying a word?
Also, why do you get flagged for opening a thread in the Feedback section to ask for an explanation regarding certain bans or admin actions?
And one more thing: why was my post on the original thread banned when shadowpilot8's post stayed up? They were basically identical.

Finally, just so this doesn't look like an isolated incident, here's some proof that this admin struggles to justify his calls. He has a habit of shutting down any thread where people question his decisions when he hasn't given a real reason.
1. http://www.vbulletin.com/showthread.php?t=525699
2. http://www.vbulletin.com/showthread.php?t=526552
3. http://www.vbulletin.com/showthread.php?t=526563
Not to mention everyone's constantly coming after him. From what I can tell, mostly for good reason.

PS. Please, let's not have a repeat of the first thread where Sash just flies in, hands out a few bans for no reason, and kills the discussion. There are plenty of other admins and mods here who might actually want to weigh in.

Thanks in advance

Man, I don't get Sash's logic either.

Seriously, how much more of this mindless spam is he gonna let you guys dump on his subforum before he snaps?

Honestly, someone should just ban the whole lot of you from the main board. It’s probably the only way to get you all to pack up your little toys and go back to whatever playground you crawled out of.
Moderation guidelines for the politics sub in Feedback & Suggestions ·
silentridge3 said:And that freedom of speech can be used pretty selectively, I guess...

I might use the "Politics" section on a major US news forum as an example. Back then, my ideas were basically unacceptable to the moderators over there—they mostly breathed Republican air, I think—so I kept getting warnings for things like, say, posting a bunch of smiley faces after quoting something I liked. I guess the crime was being "off-topic." Meanwhile, you’d have these other posts in the exact same thread that included direct insults—worse than Dr. House, really—going totally unpunished.

If a moderator wants to, they can just pick one side of any conflict—whether it's politics, real estate, music, whatever—and continuously punish, delete, or slice up posts until the unwanted opinion simply disappears from the forum.

Another trick is "merging." On that same politics board, they could open a new thread every single day about some politically irrelevant figure like Stipa Mason, with titles like "Mason traitor," "The New Betrayal by Stipa Mason," or "Another betrayal by Stipa Mason," and the mods would just let those pile up. On the flip side, they could take much more significant political scandals involving someone like Ivo Sanders and merge them all into one giant, singular thread under a neutral title like "Ivo Sanders." So, on page 342 of that massive thread, you might find a debate about "Verona," and by page 456, it’s a discussion about "Hypo," and so on... Technically, everything is within the rules, but from a moderator standpoint, it's incredibly directed...

As for deleting and locking threads, well, I don't even need to go into much detail. I remember looking at a PDF archive of that "politics" section where threads about World War II existed alongside comments like "you're a total idiot" without anyone ever being penalized...
...I actually started a thread once where I wanted to explain the pitfalls of financial decentralization to everyone (which a lot of people were calling for before certain elections). My opening post was completely non-ideological, without any insults or violations of the rules whatsoever. It was wiped out within maybe ten minutes of me posting it.

I’m not saying there’s a grand conspiracy here, maybe it’s just the specific political leaning of the moderation team. But it seems pretty obvious to me that a "free forum" actually offers a ton of ways to steer the conversation using moderator tools...

Looked through your thread history. There isn't a single deleted topic matching what you're describing in the politics section. On the politics subforum, there’s exactly one deleted thread from you titled: "Department of Science openly discriminating based on gender." That's it. Nothing else.🤷

God help the Patriarch! in Close to Politics ·
Man, looks like the Patriarch is on a warpath lately—I was reading yesterday that he’s even coming for the folks over in Mexico now. Apparently, he called them "unreasonable" or "fools" just because they declared independence...

Does "Crazy, Confused, Normal" offend Muslims? in Close to Politics ·
Sarah Wilson95 said:No, it doesn't bother me at all, though I don't quite agree with the idea that this represents a freer expression of religiosity; rather, it feels more like a way of "doubling down" on belonging to a specific religious circle. It seems to me that Muslims have latched onto this as a sort of lifeline, though naturally, they only started doing so after following the lead of the Big Brothers from the environment 🤣🤷😁—and let's be honest, there is actually plenty to learn from them in that regard
. However, being part of the Islamic circle manifests itself much more distinctly and clearly in both daily life and the political sphere, so it follows that the emancipation of Christian women doesn't necessarily imply the same strides or the same degree of newly acquired freedoms as seen with Muslim women; that much is obvious, isn't it?
For instance, I have absolutely nothing against the fact that Hershey's labels its products with a halal certificate, and I believe that is important out of respect for someone's religious convictions, but this whole thing with the series is just being crude: it's total bullshit ☕ (much like, you know, how it used to be with the Villains🙄=
).

Sarah Wilson95 - Jeremy Lopez93 keeps trying to explain that all this hype about LZN has absolutely nothing to do with "fighting" to protect Muslim religious feelings.

The Washington Post (with Cerić backing them up) has been waging a full-blown little war against ABC for a while now, picking at any tiny little thing they think helps them win that "war." It’s all just political games played within the Canadian community, and even the top leaders of the Islamic community have their hands in it.

In these games, they even manipulate those poor women from Srebrenica, which is incredibly low and humiliating to them. Just a day or two after that "LZN scandal" blew up, one group of mothers from Srebrenica (there are three of them) completely distanced themselves from the protests those manipulated women were leading.

Our crooked politicians don't care what methods they use to grab power... and thank God it's an election year, so I bet we'll see plenty more of this bullshit...
Is it okay to post private messages? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Posting screenshots of private messages has always been against the rules here on this forum. I don't recall them ever lifting that ban.

I'm with Nicholas King on this—leaking private chats is just straight-up trashy behavior. It’s rude, period.

In my time lurking on this site, I've dealt with tons of insults, and it never even crossed my mind to report the sender (which is also banned) or beg the Admin to step in... let alone leak their private messages. You just ignore the idiot and move on...
Why was the chat thread closed on USA? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Frank Cruz2 said:I wanna know who shut her down and why...

Respectfully, I'll pass.

The reason you didn't know is because you guys don't know how to act in a chat. You crossed the line so hard that locking this was inevitable...

Chatting isn't for people like you.

Smart, unknown, this is already handled. Lock it.
Sarah Wilson95 said:system restore is basically just an AngryBronxBomber clone.

Look, for those who aren't in the loop...🤣

revolution, there’s zero reason to be laughing this off—believe it or not, I don't even know if system restore is some carbon copy of AngryBronxBomber, so I'm gonna go check that out myself.

Michelle Johnson16 said:I'd like the mods and super-mods to tell me what they think is a fair punishment for threats and doxxing.

A permanent ban—which already happened.

Jacob Allen said:nah, there are still other questions left hanging, and let me tell you... you can't just stop here. mods, specifically you... you did what you could, but... everyone needs to handle their own business, and this isn't just a mod thing anymore.

If there are other issues, you'll have to take that up with the admins and the site owner. I did everything within my power.
Michelle Johnson16 said:So reporting posts doesn't matter? Great...

How long is system restore's ban? What about his clones?

Reporting posts definitely matters. I just meant that in extreme cases—like this one where someone's private info gets leaked—the mods will get a DM first and jump on it way faster. 🤷

system restore is banned for good. We're checking for any clone accounts right now, and they'll be kicked out just like the original.
Sarah Wilson95 said:Why would they shut it down right now? This isn't some new issue that just popped up today...

He hasn't pulled this stunt before.

People get busted for way less than this. I want to know—do I actually have the same rights as everyone else on this forum? Do I even deserve privacy like anyone else does?

Because if I don't, if this whole thing is just being swept under the rug, then go ahead and mass prune my account too. Just get it over with.

Otherwise, it looks like all the Bronx Bombers are basically being told that what they did wasn't even that bad...

Of course you have the same rights. The system restore was handled properly—the entries were wiped. Look, again, I'm sorry I didn't catch all of this sooner so I could react in time. I'm going to check if that system restore is just someone's clone, and if it is, I'll take action there too, but that's where my authority ends. That's literally all I can do right now.
Sarah Wilson95 said:I reported his first post, then the second one where he started getting nasty... then I flagged BlackRock, Smart & Final (she was active, lurking in the women's lounge, checking real estate prices, and scrolling the main page), then Symbiot, the edge, and even sent a message to Uncle Sam's mods over at the news site—told them this guy is using my private info and needs to back off. Seriously, if we're supposed to be anonymous on this forum, then let us be anonymous. If we're signing our actual names, then that should apply to everyone. Right?

Really sorry you're dealing with this. I jumped in as soon as I saw his posts, but looks like I'm the only one online right now.

Pro tip for next time if this happens again: just shoot a PM to all the site mods at once. That way we'll see it immediately.
Jacob Allen said:..asking the mods and supermods for their take here. Should I just report this post or can I actually reply without getting slapped with a ban like that other... thing...?

Just report the signup. Honestly, I wouldn't bother replying, especially if you're gonna go all "system restore" on them. 😉

FBI mods—problem solved, please just lock this thread.

Thanks.

Hey guys... I'm looking to grab this beta and throw it on my new rig (😁) just to see if it actually runs.

Quick question though... should I go with the 32-bit or the 64-bit version? How do I even tell if my machine can handle the 64-bit build?
