Can you send over the link proving that Swiss banks don't have bank secrecy anymore?
Are you seriously suggesting that the banking sector in the UK or the USA cares about anything other than their bottom line... instead of just chasing profit?
I was actually considering moving my business over to JPMorgan Chase, but after hearing what everyone here had to say, I decided to steer clear I ended up swinging by three different branches, and honestly, it was just one headache after another... every single time I went in, they’d tell me something completely different or start demanding stuff I didn't even want, like trying to push a loan on me when I wasn't looking for a 😉 at all In the end, I just threw my hands up in frustration and walked away from them for good
David Williams7 said:If you’re trying to get things moving with PayPal, your best bet is to head down to Chase, open a foreign currency account, and grab a Visa Intel debit card to link to the account. You can only spend what’s actually sitting in there, so the funds pull instantly and that's the end of it. Plus, if someone hacks your account, the most they can swipe is whatever balance is currently on the card. Just make sure you clear out any overdraft protection.
That’s what I do. It works fine.
You can use it for plane tickets too—concerts, gear, all that stuff—I’ve done it myself and it’s solid👍
And like they said, you really only ever use what you have available, so you could just toss maybe $5 or $10 in there, then when you actually need to buy something specific, you just top it up to the amount you need...😉
Look, you aren't exactly throwing away surplus cash here... I mean, think about it, nobody who actually built a fortune did it by just playing it safe with whatever change they had left over at the end of the month You’ve got to be willing to take those risks right now, if you want even a slim chance of being wealthy down the road...
I mean, everything can be worked out eventually, though I used to be a firm believer in just going after them with account garnishments, you know... maybe just hitting them hard on the interest rates instead...
So, I heard about this guy recently who had his apartment foreclosed on just because he fell behind on his HOA fees... It’s not like you’re heading to a federal penitentiary for it, but they’ll certainly come for your home if you aren't careful.
So, I find myself making the trip over to the shopping malls in Jersey regularly just because, honestly, you can pick up stuff there for way less than what we’re seeing at the local shops back home... 😬
well, my answer was pretty much just a general overview I'm honestly not even sure if there's any kind of customs duty involved for something like this but it works roughly like this—and I'm being a bit dramatic here, but it applies to almost everything the base cost of the product is $3.25 during manufacturing then you tack on the sales tax and the retailer's margin over in America the sales tax is 22%, while in Austria it’s around 18%—though they might have some specific tax breaks for groceries, I can't say for certain the margin is set by the seller, and that depends on all sorts of things like location, demand, and whatnot plus, if you're buying in bulk, you usually get a discount 😉 the government also helps out with export subsidies to make sure our products stay competitive... I'm not positive if that applies to this specific item, but I'd assume it does it's also entirely possible that the product itself is actually manufactured in another EU country where costs are lower, so for instance, Tang from Poland would be cheaper right out of the gate than the stuff made here, even if they are identical
You can always give an auction a shot if you want to see what happens 😁 or maybe just list it on Craigslist 😬 http://global.ebay.com/search?Query=...SortBy=1&cc=US
I was wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on this bank
Basically, I'm looking at the personal banking side of things, and I wanted to see if there's anyone here who actually jumped on that recent promotion to open a new account lately...
They spent an entire hour trying to verify if they were actually genuine, just waiting around for some specialist to show up and give the okay...
And the kicker is, I literally withdrew those exact same bills from the very same bank branch earlier that day. 😬
If my memory serves me right, back when we were using the old currency, they didn't even have anything like this; I think that level of security only kicked in once the new dollar was introduced, since even our older US Dollars didn't have these kinds of protections.
If you look at things from a long-term perspective, you’re looking at an average somewhere around 10%
Given how low interest rates have been lately, it’s going to take quite a while to see things shift back, and considering the direction we're heading, even that 10% mark might end up looking like a pretty sweet deal...
I actually caught a glimpse of the work done by Crn (he’s located over on Maple Street, just past the main highway) I used to pull shifts over at Misfit, and honestly, they did an incredible job, but those guys ended up moving their whole operation somewhere else entirely... Right now, I’m just weighing my options between going with Crn or maybe checking out Roby & senf The Dragon Year landmark is right before you hit the outskirts of town when you're heading toward the suburbs 😉
From what I can tell, Washington, D.C. is easily the most expensive place to be
Honestly, those people behind the counters don't have a clue what they're doing I'm seriously thinking about moving my money over to Wells Fargo soon because Chase is driving me absolutely insane their foreign exchange tools actually work online, though I probably shouldn't bother them with it just to keep things simple😉
hmm, I actually had no idea about that It sounds pretty ridiculous to me... I mean, I’ve got some pounds sitting in my foreign currency account from my trip over there, so you're telling me I can't even withdraw 105 pounds? Honestly, it feels like a really poorly thought-out move by the board... I totally get why they wouldn't just hand over $600 or a few thousand Swedish krona right at the teller window—you obviously have to order specific amounts ahead of time—but I didn't realize they didn't carry any small denominations at all Maybe try swapping them out at a currency exchange booth down by the coast... you'll take a bit of a hit on the exchange rate, but hey, that's just how it goes sometimes😁 And just keep a few pennies as a souvenir... or maybe use them for something small the next time you find yourself traveling north😬
I remember back in the day, you could just toss your spare change into that little exchange booth at the Chase branch downtown I wonder if they still let you do that 🤷 Since you’ve spent your whole career working in the banking sector, I figured you’d be the one to tell me 😬 I think there might be a way to deposit pounds—not pence, mind you—directly into a foreign currency account, though I can't say for certain...
