How to get started with agtech and farming investments? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Around here, you rarely find anyone who focuses solely on farming... I know about a dozen major producers in my area, but most of them are constantly scrambling to hold down positions at big state-run corporations. They’ll keep maybe ten to forty head of cattle on the side while working a full-time desk job, all while taking out massive loans to buy the latest tractors and heavy machinery. Honestly, they don't get a wink of sleep because they're bouncing between the office and the fields all day and night. To be honest, I can't wrap my head around that kind of lifestyle; I'd much rather just scrape by and make ends meet than work myself into an early grave just to drive a shiny new truck or a fancy tractor, hoping I might actually get to visit the coast once I retire, if I ever make it that far... When I ask them why they won't just commit to agriculture full-time, they always give me the same old line about how it's too unstable to rely on alone, but then again, I suppose you can't exactly have it both ways...

I’m honestly just looking for a bit of casual chatter here, but if anyone happens to be an expert on certain plant varieties that tend to grow really quickly... I'd love to hear your thoughts...

The government is putting up some state-owned land for sale right now, and honestly, if you’ve got the capital to move on it, it might actually be a pretty solid investment opportunity...

Chris Lopez59 said:Chase actually lets you snag an extra, special overdraft limit on your Maestro card that matches whatever credit limit they’ve already set for your checking account. The best part—and I mean this sincerely—is that your first installment doesn't even kick in until a full month after the transaction hits, which is a massive upgrade from how things used to work with checks where they’d usually just snatch that first payment right out of your account immediately. Because of that buffer, you don't even need to have a single cent sitting in your account to pull off a purchase on the installment plan. 👍

Well, I guess I'm heading straight to Walmart then!😬

We really need to learn how to just be content and find actual happiness... because constantly chasing a paycheck doesn't actually make a person better...

I completely agree with this sentiment; having some money in the bank is certainly helpful, but if you're spending every waking hour grinding just to stay afloat, you're barely getting by... plus, even if you move out to the countryside to live off the land, you can't exactly survive on nothing but a backyard garden if things go south...

So, basically, if you want to qualify for any kind of agricultural grant, regardless of what you're planting, there are certain baseline requirements you have to hit... for instance, you need to put up fencing at least six feet high to keep the local wildlife out, and when it comes to things like timber, almond groves, or pear orchards, you’ve got to have hail protection in place—meaning netting over everything—which honestly turns into such an incredibly expensive investment...

Actually, none of that is true; neither the fencing nor the netting are mandatory requirements to receive the subsidies.

But how can you say that? If I'm already deep in the red, there's no way on earth I'm getting approved for a loan...😬

Is it actually okay if I dip into my overdraft just so I can pick up some stuff at Maestro?
To be or not to be... a father? in Philosophy ·
Life just feels empty without children, and honestly, all that money you're saving won't mean a thing if there's no one to share it with...

That sounds great, though if you ask me, I honestly suspect about 90 percent of retailers out there won't even accept it

Does anyone actually know where they're accepting Maestro for installment plans?

What is going on with this search tool? I type in Metropolitan Opera and it just spits out five pages of random topics that have absolutely nothing to do with the Metropolitan Opera...😲

I’ve been wondering how everyone else is holding up this winter, because honestly, I feel completely off-kilter, almost like I’m walking around intoxicated or just totally out of sorts because of this weather... since I deal with meteopathy, these constant shifts in the atmosphere really take a massive toll on my body and leave me feeling absolutely drained.
Bill Belichick fired from the Patriots in Soccer ·
nimblemarlin17 said:The Bayern Munich front office screwed up with this firing. Belichick is a top-tier coach who squeezed massive results out of a mediocre roster. But you can't do that forever. If those suits think they’re suddenly going to see better results just because they swapped coaches with this current group of players, they've clearly lost their minds.

And you aren't wrong there either—the ownership is being incredibly stingy, acting like they're afraid to actually spend money on elite talent. Instead, they just go out and pick up aging veterans or second-rate players, and then they act completely shocked when we get crushed in international competition. It isn't even a matter of lacking the funds; it's that they're being cheap, and it's exactly that kind of mindset that drags our whole economy down... we're basically working for peanuts at this point...👎

He isn't the loser here—it's me and thousands of other fans who have had to sit through this season watching Bayern Munich, especially since they kicked him out of New York City just to find some temporary patch for their problems🙏 👎
USA vs. Spain: 29-28 in Other Sports ·
It’s true that the current tournament format feels inherently unfair, and honestly, I can't help but feel we'd be much better off with the classic group stage setup where you have four teams per group and then just the top two move on to the knockout rounds...

I hadn't really thought about it, but if our guys had actually lost, would they have ended up facing the Germans instead? If that's the case, I honestly think playing the French would be the better option, especially since the tournament is being held right there in Germany...
Skiing at Mount Rainier in Other Sports ·
You can't even get out there and ski anymore; I was watching the coverage on TV, and it honestly looks like they’ve rigged the whole scene just for the elite... it feels like these pro skiers have all this massive corporate sponsorship and deep pockets, so unless there’s a massive natural snowstorm, they’re just going to squeeze you for every cent you have $67 🙂
