Four of those sections are carved out exclusively for domestic American affairs, while just one single section is dedicated to everything else happening across the globe—from our immediate neighbors all the way out to China and Hawaii.
The whole thing with politics! splitting into different sections happened because the conservatives were just losing their minds—they couldn't stand that only about 80% of the threads focused on America and our own domestic issues, while the other 20% dealt with the rest of the world. To them, that was just unbearable. But, honestly, there was no way they were going to cave and meet those demands entirely, since they basically wanted to ban anything involving the rest of the globe from the Politics! subforum altogether.

It just shows how "principled" we are as a people—only looking inward and refusing to meddle or even acknowledge what anyone else is doing. Sure, there are trends in other countries we could definitely learn from, which is a downside, but this total lack of interest from the American right (which is pretty much the mainstream here) regarding global affairs really highlights the true nature of our people.

But then, once you give them a polite, civilized response, that's when the bans and deletions start flying.

To be specific, in a debate like that—which was totally within the rules and had reached eight pages—I ended up getting a warning for a completely normal post (and there are millions of people trolling like that every single day). I'm not even complaining about that, though; honestly, whatever, hand out the warnings if you want, I still love you guys.😍
Then comes the deleting of posts. My well-reasoned response to Stagediver's post was deleted, yet his post is still sitting right there. If my reply to him wasn't good enough, it's apparently because it didn't stick strictly to the topic. But if my response was off-topic, then the very post I was quoting and replying to shouldn't be there either, yet it remains untouched.

In short, it's fascinating how threads about leftist icons get polished and cleaned up regardless of logic, while any "hateful conservative" gets hit with a nasty little surprise. Meanwhile, on threads about Ronald Reagan or Donald Rumsfeld, people can post absolute garbage that makes a sane person want to gag, and yet it's perfectly tolerated. It feels pointless. You don't need to do this.

I don't plan on going back to that thread because the inconsistent moderation has completely ruined the discussion. Now, the thread about the late Bill Clinton will shine brightly, just as befits such a legendary figure.

Watched this with my wife last night. Honestly, the movie was terrible—I just couldn't get into it at all. The only redeeming quality is that there are so many ridiculous scenes you can basically just laugh at them.
