Kenneth Cruz67 said:Oh, I think it might just happen. I guess you could say the author handles things somewhat like Pupovac does in American politics—she’s essentially an ethnic businessman. In her own way, she seems to be a gender-based businessman, at least that's the impression she left on me.
I guess you could call her a businesswoman. 😒 🙂 🙂

Jamie Davis9 said:I honestly feel a bit nauseous seeing how much everyone is ramping up the sexism and obsessing over "women's issues" lately.
Look, don't hold it against me. 🙄
Look, we aren't holding a grudge, but I’m pretty sure the person who actually started this thread is going to have a bone to pick with you. 😁
Can someone actually take a look at this issue and give me a straight answer, or am I just going to be told once again that "I don't like the answer" is a valid reason to ignore me?😵
I’m kindly requesting that the Women’s Corner moderator and our super-moderator Saba explain why this specific post isn't being flagged as controversial or subject to a ban:
In my humble opinion, this is textbook "hate speech." In plenty of other cases—even ones far less extreme than this—users get slapped with a 500-point penalty for much less.
Do the moderators actually believe the hate in this instance is justified, or are they just pretending it doesn't exist?
And please, don't give me the usual excuses like, "Oh, she didn't mean it that way, she just added a smiley face."
The thread itself is titled "today's dose of chauvinism." Does that mean everyone else on the forum has a free pass to express their chauvinism without consequence?
This is just the most blatant example. The vast majority of the posts I report go unpunished, even though every single report is well-reasoned and almost every one of those flagged entries would be considered unacceptable anywhere else on the internet.
Jason Hall said:Whatever... it’s just plain ridiculous that the very moderator you're filing a complaint against is the one tasked with reviewing it. 🙄
I mean, does a cop review their own ticket when you contest it? Does a judge preside over their own sentencing? No.
Even at a university, if you have a grievance with a professor, they’ll—at least on paper—assign a committee of several people to look into it rather than letting that one professor decide the outcome.
I'm totally with you on that point. I’ve pointed out this exact issue more times than I can count—it’s basically the definition of a conflict of interest where the person being accused is also acting as the judge. But clearly, my warnings fall on deaf ears. 🙄
All I did was fix the quote to clarify that the specific moderator in question is actually the one closing the thread.
placidorca16 said:Since when did you become a moderator—or are you just delusional?🙄 I quoted the original post that opened the thread along with my own comment, yes. It’s all right there in the link. If you're having trouble seeing it, maybe go visit an eye doctor.
Now both the OP's quote and your reply are visible; before, it was just your response showing up.
As far as I can tell, the ability to lock threads on those specific subforums is restricted strictly to the head moderators and the admin, not just any random moderator you find floating around. But let’s be real—it’s incredibly easy for a moderator to just "tap a colleague on the shoulder" and ask them to shut a thread down.
placidorca16 said:I used the title “sexist topic” just to flag this for the moderators. I was quoting the author's opening post where he kicked things off with total sexism and some pretty offensive generalizations about women. I’m asking the mods to step in here, not the other users. Thanks!
Just a quick correction on that quote: you didn't actually quote his opening post; you quoted one of your own posts from that thread. Anyone who bothers to click the link in the post where you started this topic can see that for themselves.
briskwalker10 said:The Army of Canada isn't some legitimate military force, and honestly, it doesn't matter which of these paramilitary groups was set up first or later. 😉
So, what are you getting at here? Are you trying to suggest that the Yugoslav People's Army was the only legal military force during the war in Canada? 🍿
William Clark86 said:If the rest of the moderation team and the owners don't distance themselves from lonetrucker4's intellectual gymnastics and those Islamist propaganda pieces he tries to pass off as facts—and if they actually keep him in his moderator position—then please, just ban me permanently. Honestly, I have zero interest in being part of this community under those circumstances.
And I’m calling on all the other sane users here to do the exact same thing. 👍
Look, while I basically agree with you (especially regarding the intellectual nonsense and the Islamist agendas he presents as gospel truth), I’m not one of those "normal" users who just follows the crowd. I’m staying right here to fight for the truth, regardless of who ends up holding the moderator badge.
I won't be able to make it because I'll be busy giving a lecture over at Dragon Con during that time.
Carl Rivera43 said:Money isn't even my main goal. I'd much rather find a stable relationship, build something real, and just focus on being happy and making my wife happy.
How exactly are you planning to make a woman happy when you can't even get your own act together? 🤔
I’m reporting Error 1016. This one’s a first for me. It’s popped up a few times throughout the day today.
Joseph Bailey41 said:Perfect. That way we'll all know exactly when someone's taking a dump. 👍
I've seen the exact same thing happening with the current administration. They're doing it constantly—mostly just talking out of their asses. 🤦
Ethan Barrett22 said:Usually, yeah. But honestly, not always.
For example:
1. He’s going to get angry.
2. Mary is going to whip up some hot dogs for her husband. :gozba jaganjčeva:
1. "self" isn't an infinitive; it's just a reflexive pronoun.
2. "his own" functions as a reflexive possessive pronoun here.
🙄
The infinitive follows 'will,' though it doesn't have to be placed immediately after it.
But the real headache is how often people write 'protect' incorrectly by dropping letters, thinking they've used the right verb form when they haven't.

Alright, I'll pencil that in. 🙂
mistylynx said:I might be in New York City this Saturday, so if there's anything going on, let me know... I might just work up the nerve to show up if there's a crowd.
Honestly, I'd love to finally meet you.
Ethan Phillips said:A guy with mental health issues? He could beat you into a state of total insanity. A man missing an eye or a leg can't pull that off. It’s not the same thing. What you're doing to yourself... that's a different story entirely.
There is a massive spectrum of mental health issues and disorders out there. Honestly, someone struggling with depression or anxiety isn't exactly going to go out and beat anyone up.🙄
Karen King42 said:Does anyone have recommendations or firsthand experience with support groups for families dealing with schizophrenia?
I've been digging through some organizations online, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how they actually operate.
Like—do they host regular meetups or seminars where people swap stories, offer support, advice, and all that good stuff?
Our family recently hit this head-on, so I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been there—how to make things easier for both the patient and the rest of us, and honestly, what else we should be bracing for...
Thanks!
I actually have a recommendation and some firsthand experience with NAMI. They hold two different support groups every Monday from 7 to 9 PM at their community center in Chicago. One group is specifically for individuals facing mental health challenges, while the other—called "Fellow Travelers"—is designed specifically for their loved ones. It isn't strictly limited to schizophrenia cases, but there are definitely people in those circles dealing with it.
