You get a seat at the table for the profits, but you’re also on the hook for the risks! Compared to standard interest rates, the difference is night and day!
Hold on a second. We had nearly 18,000 people online back on December 8th, and I didn't even notice.
And now, at 4 in the morning!!! Not that it matters—my old man used to say the same thing!

I am looking forward to it. In fact, I find it quite exhilarating. I can hardly wait.

That was news to me. I was under the impression the French bourgeois revolution occurred in the 18th century, Marx lived in the 19th, and the EZ wasn't established until the mid-20th century (and hasn't even been called the European Union since 1993).

Forgive me, but your logic escapes me. You seem eager to join the very entity you intend to dismantle. It is akin to your previous claim about voting for the Republican Party simply to ensure their downfall.

If it is true that capitalism and the European Union, as its empire, are destined to fall (a prospect I hope for), why would America, a small and vulnerable player, rush headlong into such a massive, crumbling structure only to have the debris land on its own head? Would it not be wiser to remain in one's modest cabin and wait for the storm to pass elsewhere?

You’re just trolling at this point, and frankly, it’s a waste of time. Revolutionary shifts have already matured across Europe, which is now consolidating into the European Union. Within that union, something entirely new is beginning to take shape. Our participation in this process serves as a vital safeguard, ensuring we aren't swallowed up by some localized, mafia-style regional chaos. I would much rather be behind the walls of the European Union than stuck in whatever mess exists outside of it. The frontline of defense. It’s going to be an economic and demographic tsunami coming from the East and South that hits us all at once in the first wave.
I’ve said all I need to say about the Republican Party on this thread. Let's stay on topic.

This statement doesn't sit right with me if we're talking about a "total democrat." 😁

The Communist Party failed to hold elections, which means democracy was nothing more than an illusion. I doubt the American people will ever again tolerate a small circle of elites selecting their own successors while threatening anyone who dares to oppose them with a one-way trip to Alcatraz. 🤷🤷

Total democracy is just a third option sitting alongside capitalism and socialism; there isn't anything else. I’ve already explained this elsewhere, so you'll need to go find that thread.

The Communist Party ran the elections, and frankly, people seem to prefer having someone else make decisions and mess things up on their behalf. Back in the day, they sent Stalinists and hardened criminals to Alcatraz. A referendum is the most direct expression of democracy, and you only have to look at the turnout to see that. People just don't want to take responsibility; they’d rather let someone else handle it, provided it works in their favor. As long as they stay comfortable, they couldn't care less whether it's totalitarianism or democracy.

I recently switched from AT&T to Verizon. It’s basically the same story. Everything keeps slowing down, though things seem to stabilize after midnight. I suspect the issue is due to the sheer volume of users online at peak hours.

PS: It's 11:38 PM and the speed is finally improving.

I know you're aware. I'm just reminding you. The bourgeois revolution happened in France—part of the European Union. Marxism took hold in the German working class—European Union. And your hypothetical Jew arrived to dismantle the Third Reich on Day D-Day. Personally, I believe our own socialist Day D-Day is closer than most realize. Look at Davos today—the elites have already signaled that neoliberal capitalism is dead. It's happening right here!Something new is emerging, specifically regarding worker ownership models. It's a smart move. We need to engage with this directly rather than watching from the sidelines while local North American nationalistic mafias bleed us dry under the guise of patriotism and statehood. That is why I am FOR the European Union!

What a total fantasy.

Fifty-nine colleagues and my brother are in total agreement. I am an eyewitness to everything I am stating.

Rebecca Roberts3 As stated by:
A champion of workers' rights just cast his vote in favor of enslaving himself to the neoliberal capitalist empire.

What would a Mexican say? Good grief.

This fighter senses the inevitable shifts already underway within the European Union. There is only one direction they can head: straight toward socialism. If they don't, revolution—with all its inherent chaos—is the only alternative. Where did the upheaval of 1789 take place? We need to be right there in the thick of it to ensure we don't repeat the failures of 1848. We could also be facing a massive scientific breakthrough or a technological revolution that reshapes the entire world. If that happens, we must be playing in the inner circle, not watching from behind a fence.

Living in a community is a fundamental human trait. By definition, being part of a society means you contribute to it. If you expect to enjoy the benefits of the collective while viewing your own contributions as slavery, you have a serious problem.

Rebecca Roberts3 said:Just another leftist supporter of the European Union... 🤦

Is that why you voted for the European Union? 🙄

http://protiv-eu.org/images/stories/nalj01.jpg

Since the proletarian revolution in America is currently off the table, the choice was simple: either the Republican Party mafia or the European Union.

Just another leftist cheerleader for the European Union.

The working class held a massive majority and was firmly in favor. Their support was driven by a logical understanding of class interests and economic reality. Conversely, the Right-wing opposed it, fueled by a desperate fear of losing their privileges and deep-seated nationalist xenophobia.

Arthur Fowler83 said:Honestly, bringing up those minor parties is a waste of breath. It's obvious they don't have any actual leverage.

You can see how everything just boils down to two parties that are practically clones of each other. It's a farce, not a democracy.
And this is exactly the kind of model they work so hard to push onto the European Union and, by extension, here at home.

We’ve certainly proven ourselves to be the most eager adopters of Western garbage—those so-called center-left and center-right parties that end up running the entire political show.

You can't reduce democracy down to just personal freedoms—you know, the right to say whatever you want or wave whatever symbols you like, provided you stay on the street and hold zero actual power. That isn't democracy; that's just a subset of it.

A real democracy requires at least three or four major parties with significantly different platforms and areas of influence.

So, what's really the difference between elections back in America, where the Communist Party would just swap out various candidates you could vote for, and today, when "democracies" just cycle through different faces within two nearly identical parties (like the Republicans and Democrats in the USA, or the Republican Party and Democratic Party here)?🤷

The difference is simple: the KP served the people, elevating proven candidates who actually possessed a sense of justice, unity, and adherence to their stated principles. Western multi-party systems, on the other hand, exist solely to serve special interest groups and big capital.

I voted YES. And I will do it a million times over until every last trace of Harmon's influence is wiped out. YES because the people have been pushed to the brink. YES because this isn't a functioning state; it's chaos. There is no justice, no honesty, no honor, and no morality here. Even the clergy are poisoned by hatred, workers aren't getting paid, the Prime Minister was looting the country, and now the largest party in the nation is under investigation for the exact same thing! YES because I believe in a global worker's revolution, and Americans must play their part in it! We were the historical leaders of communist and anti-fascist ideals in the North America, and we will lead again!

The massive voter turnout failure shows a population that is apathetic, disinterested, and disillusioned. Disillusioned by what? Their own country. The grand expectations of the nineties completely crashed, and they clearly aren't coming. Especially not now in the USA, and certainly not through "patriotism," but perhaps only through grueling labor and sacrifice. The first wave of disappointment hit with Harmon's death. He made promises, died, and left nothing behind but empty symbolism at an enormous cost. The reaction was desperation. A coalition was chosen. The Republican revival centered around the San Francisco Waterfront ended in catastrophe, leading to Sanders's imprisonment and electoral defeat. It is now obvious the people have been played. They hold the flag, the crest, and the anthem, while their future is a trash bin. The nineties dream of freedom and prosperity has shattered. The corrupt and the privileged are the only ones winning. All hope seems lost—so what is there even to vote for?

Shut up, you skeptics. You likely come from the ranks of the privileged or those who refuse to face the bitter reality: nationalist rhetoric is spent fuel and is unwelcome in the USA. Then there are the leftist revolutionaries, who sense that in the USA as it stands today, they are losing ground.
What do generals, The Hague, national debt, dropped charges, or selling off banks and companies have to do with the collapse of the USA?

Is it even possible to accuse anyone of betraying national interests just because the USA is falling apart? Who would you even target?
granitehawk12 said:Then why doesn't that unnamed leader just say he won't even bother running for power in the next election, since he won't be able to do anything anyway with all the accumulated debt and national problems?

Some of you get an ulcer the second the nineties are mentioned... that’s the difference between us and you.... we take pride in the nineties because that's when our nation was founded, while you people just feel sick because you lost yours.

Actually, no. We feel sick because of how the right wing built this country and what they turned it into. Over time, under pressure from the Department of Health, things shifted, and now they want to return to Franjo Harmon's roots just for electoral gain. Meanwhile, the fringe right dreams of holding power—power that no sane person wants right now. Joe Biden won't say it publicly because he can't, but he isn't going to seize power at any cost through some rotten coalition. Look at history: Ivica Račan wisely let Ivo Sanders hand over the generals and "pay back the debt" to the retirees back in 2003. Similarly, Joe Biden let him form a government in 2007 and bite into the very mess he created. So, look at where he and the country stand now. It would actually be brilliant if the Republican Party and the Democratic Party just handed control to the ultra-right since they’re so desperate for it. Let's see how they handle it. We've been living in poverty long enough.

That is the ultimate playbook for a liar—this kind of nonsensical logic is something I’ve even heard coming from certain leftist politicians...🤣

Frankly, it’s hardly surprising that Račan's formal administration left behind such a staggering mountain of debt, particularly regarding those highway construction projects that Čačić is so incredibly proud of...😂

If you factor in the blatant fire sale of state-owned companies for pennies on the dollar, along with Mason's charming little mockery captured in various transcripts, you get a much more complete picture of what that formal Government actually looked like...🙄

It is truly incredible how we find ourselves facing this all over again without even realizing it. Perhaps there is a glimmer of hope if Čačić actually gets his way, but I highly doubt it; there are far too many people out there who only ever think in formalities...🤣

Oh sure, because they could have built those highways for pennies on the dollar, right? How much would it have cost using the unnamed/Republican method? As for the internal debt left by the Reaganite right, it's being settled through the very sell-offs they initiated; when that wasn't enough, they turned to foreign loans. And once again, Clinton gets the blame. It's the same old story. The Republican Party leaves behind an internal debt of $35 billion that is absolutely destroying us, leaving no choice but to borrow from abroad. God willing, that goes through the IMF at a 2% interest rate. On top of that, there's still a budget deficit of about $17 billion. Totaling $60 billion—how much will the external debt spike under a new, forced Democratic-style administration? It'll be the unnamed one's fault, obviously!

Pure heaven on this corner of the globe ☕.

Something like the nineties, when the right took control of things in this country?
The Right-wing has been running the show in America for twenty years now. Even if you only count those three formal years under Račan's administration, the result is the same. This is why America looks the way it does today—because of the Right-wing. The OP is likely referring to the far-right, which is a thought better left unexamined. At this rate, the war would probably still be dragging on!

Bogović's intentions are deceptive. He’s looking to establish another venue for those far-right, religious rallies—just like what happened in Blairsville. He knows perfectly well that liberals and anti-fascists won't show up there. This is just another failed attempt at creating a nationalist shrine. There are already enough monuments dedicated to partisan fighters for that purpose. If Bogović wants to build monuments to unknown fascists, he should just be honest about it. He might actually have better luck that way. As it stands, getting approval from the international community or even Vatican City isn't going to happen. He's hiding his true agenda behind this vague rhetoric of "national unity."

We should probably just build a monument to human stupidity at Krbava, because that’s exactly what that battle was. We might as well credit Bogović's idea for it!

Here we go again with these attempts at reconciliation. It’s a non-starter. Personally, I wouldn't sit at a table in a diner with someone who claims to be a believer while simultaneously championing Pavelić and Harmon, let alone share a grave with them. Never.

Partisans comes from the French term for a partisan or supporter. In its true sense, it refers to a guerrilla fighter—someone who conducts reconnaissance, carries out ambushes, and strikes at enemy communications and infrastructure to weaken them and force them off specific territory. They protect the people from violence and drive political engagement!

Artisan is the French root for a craftsman or tradesperson—a creator, an actor, or a master of their craft.

A partisan is also a German term for a battle axe, an old-style weapon similar to a halberd.

You gotta wipe that first quote out before you start adding your own commentary. But if you do that, you lose the person's name and the link back to their original post. So, here's the move: do what I always do—just grab that
tag from the very end of the post and paste it right after the specific section you actually want to reply to, then use the "highlight and quote" method for the rest of your stuff.
I don't need that. I already know.
hit the button on the final post you want. It will automatically wrap all those posts in quote tags, allowing you to manually strip out unnecessary text, bold important parts, or insert your own commentary between quotes.

We'll figure it out as we go.
That stays stuck inside the massive block because after you highlight and quote specific sections, you forget to delete the initial giant quote block generated when you first clicked the quote icon at the bottom of the post.

I've used other methods...
So delete that first quote before you start adding your comments. Otherwise, you won't see the username you're quoting or the link to their original post. What I always do is just cut the end off the post.

...but sometimes
and paste it onto the end of the first section of the post you're commenting on, then apply the "highlight and quote" method to the rest.

...this works well too. It runs like a dream!😁 It's smooth as silk!
