I can answer that myself. It’s because we're dealing with a forum regular who holds a strictly left-wing worldview. Honestly, conservatives haven't really found a home on this site in quite some time.
I wouldn't go as far as attacking Chuck, though. He's a unique case.
Look, nobody is saying the mods shouldn't join the conversation, but if you're going to jump in, don't try to moderate the thread too. You clearly have a specific bias, so you just can't be objective.

Moderators are supposed to be neutral, but let’s be real—that’s just not happening here. Most of them have clear political leanings, and they aren't afraid to show it. If you dare to post an opinion that runs counter to their agenda, you get "rewarded" with a red card.
I usually don't bother commenting on how things are moderated because, honestly, what's the point? My values and political views are polar opposites to the vibe of this forum.
Not long ago, moderator Roko stepped down because the admin felt he was being too subjective.
Now, we've got moderators like the FBI, a clone, and especially unknown spitting on unknown, Bernie Sanders, and openly rooting for AT&T.
What kind of moderation is that??
Shutting down different perspectives has basically become the standard for political discussion here. Users get just enough points to stay active before hitting a minimum three-day ban. It’s nothing short of censorship.

So, the title basically assumes that the left is inherently progressive by default.

And then in the next thread, it implies the right is just conservative and regressive.

I'd like to ask the moderator to please remove the word progressive from the title. It’s definitely a concept worth debating on its own! This feels more like a personal opinion—which you're totally entitled to have—but you shouldn't be forcing it on the rest of us here.

Since this is supposed to be an American forum, I was pretty stunned to see that out of all the moderators and admins, only one female mod bothered to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and honor our fallen veterans. It really makes you wonder: do the mods actually care about America? Do they even view this country as their home??
On top of that, people are allowed to compare our President to a war criminal like Donald Trump, and then you have users comparing major corporations to waitstaff,
It feels like under the guise of "free speech," certain users are increasingly allowed to spout their radical agendas right here on the forum.
It leaves me asking: where is this community heading? Someone here said it perfectly—it feels like we’re in a full-blown media war with Mexico.

I’m not really complaining about the bans because, honestly, that feels pointless. I just have an issue with the mods. It's like the old saying: when the accuser is also the judge.
I took a look through the threads, and it seems like anything that makes this administration look bad gets fast-tracked over to the "Politics" sub-forum.
Here are some threads I started that the mods decided just "weren't important" enough:
1. American exports
2. An American country of cronies
3. A new American exodus
But then you have topics like Domestic Partnerships, which are apparently "vital" and will probably stay on the main forum forever.

Donald Trump really made waves after the election when he called President Hillary Clinton a "NATO waitress." You’d think he’d be banned from the forum for that, but nope—he's still a moderator. Honestly, most of the moderators here seem to be pretty left-leaning. They jump right into discussions without hiding their biases, while users with different political views just get kicked out.

This isn't the first time Edga has acted like this. I'm asking the administration to please take action and remove Edga. With his tone, his vulgarity, his threats, and the way he insults any user who doesn't share his views, he hasn't earned the right to be a supermod.

Exactly. Some moderators are great, and some just aren't. And it wasn't just me complaining—plenty of users have felt the same way. Specifically, the thread about Ukraine isn't being handled very well.
Tourism is a completely different beast. I've been on this forum since 2008, and you're really the only user I know who's gone after the moderators on this specific board.☕

It’s honestly pretty sad how much leeway people give when it comes to tourism. You see folks from the coast constantly taking shots at people from other parts of the US, and it just gets brushed off. You could have just replied to your colleague directly instead of starting a whole new thread. Just because the moderators didn't jump on it immediately doesn't mean they aren't doing their jobs.

Not every single flagged post needs an automatic penalty. If a moderator decides a post doesn't actually break any rules, then it shouldn't be sanctioned.
I’ve reported plenty of posts over in the politics section that didn't end up getting sanctioned. Honestly, if I started a new thread for every single post that didn't get a penalty, the admins would have to write a whole dedicated book just about my insignificance! :-)
