Kimberly White63 said:Where does it actually say that links to foreign language articles have to be in English?

The only thing I could find in the PDF rules regarding links and foreign language text is this:

Article 6.
• If you're posting text in a foreign language, you MUST include a summary in English! You don't need to translate the whole thing—just give us the gist in one or two quick sentences. Posts without a summary might get deleted.
• Links aren't a substitute for actual content. When you drop a link, you need to briefly explain what's behind it (like the title, a quick summary, or a key quote). It needs to be obvious why that page matters to the discussion.

Exactly. 👍 That’s literally what we're trying to do here, because let's face it, most people on Reddit have no clue what those articles are even talking about.

The reason I feel this way is pretty simple: you don’t actually participate in the Ukraine thread at all. You’re just not there. Ever since I started moderating that topic more intensely, I haven't seen you drop a single post. So, my take is that if you aren't contributing to the Ukraine discussion, you shouldn't be coming in here with these super detailed complaints or trying to get another Redditor sanctioned—especially when they're actually helping drive the conversation forward unlike you.

Look, I think you're great, and I honestly love reading your stuff. I really don't have an issue with any of the moderators personally. My only gripe is that the site rules and the enforcement of them seem to target certain users specifically.
At least Charles Fox10 has been consistent with everyone so far. By that logic, if someone calls the legitimate Ukrainian government fascists, they should be facing sanctions too.☕
People right here are calling Ukrainian soldiers and the legal Ukrainian government fascists.

2.http://www.reddit.com/showpost.php?p=5...postcount=4582
I see those posts were basically ignored. 🙂 👍

There are a few reasons why I'm boycotting that thread:
1. Charles Fox10 explained to me that comparing pro-Russian separatists (calling them terrorists) to Chetniks from that fascist breakaway state is forbidden.
2. Comparing the Russian military to the US Army is against the rules.
3. Any comparison between the war in Ukraine and the American War of Independence is also off-limits.

If I were to write that Putin is the new Hitler, I’d probably get banned instantly, yet making fun of the Ukrainian president seems perfectly fine.
A huge chunk of people on Reddit are avoiding the Ukraine thread. It’s not just me. Even the so-called "pro-Russian" users (you aren't allowed to call them that there!) stay away, because the whole thread has turned into a giant fan club for Mother Russia and Putin.☕
As someone who lived through the American War of Independence, seeing Russia invade an independent Ukraine and tear its territory apart hits me hard. It's even harder to watch the moderation quietly go along with praising some fascist breakaway entity like Novorossiya, which is just a pathetic version of the old breakaway states. Watching what's happening in Ukraine brings all those memories of the war back to life for me. 😢

Paul Kern12 said:The links are in Cyrillic because that's how they write in Russia, and most of those sites are Russian anyway. What’s the big deal?🤷

It’s honestly pretty frustrating when people ignore the rules here on Reddit. We have a clear policy about foreign languages: if you're posting links to articles in other languages, they need to be in English. If they aren't, you've got to provide a translation. Otherwise, it starts feeling like we're hanging out on some random Russian forum instead of an American one.
It’s pretty obvious that some people think the Reddit rules don't apply to them, especially since their behavior keeps getting a pass.
Just a heads-up: calling legitimate Ukrainian government institutions "fascists" isn't allowed here either. We've already mentioned that this kind of talk will result in a ban.

What on earth happened to this thread?? It’s getting pretty wild.🙄

Rules and guidelines: A look at user Studentka's posts in Feedback & Suggestions ·
crimsonjackal63 said:Everyone on this Reddit knows that Mark Bennett36 and McAuliffe are actually the same person.
Anyway, can someone from the Administration please look into this...

I’d really appreciate it if the Administration could check this out. Rules should apply to everyone equally. It feels unfair when patriotic users get permanently banned while liberals like McAuliffe are allowed to just clone themselves and keep trolling under different names.🙄
Jesse Sanchez4 said:That was actually a comment from a news site, not a post on this forum.

Honestly, what even counts as trolling?

Let’s say you have a sub-forum dedicated to, I don't know, Thompson. You walk in there and point out the fact that the man had Nazi songs in his repertoire. Suddenly, everyone loses their minds, and you're labeled a troll for upsetting peaceful music fans who see lyrics like "thick fog will descend again" as a beautiful description of a sunrise instead of a blatant reference to a famous Nazi anthem.

And yeah, you did troll. 100% true. You upset the forum users and triggered them so hard they started insulting your entire family tree. But honestly, the issue isn't you—it's them. And that brings us right back to the massive problem with this forum: those "scenery-loving" ThompsonoljuBci shouldn't even be here. Humanly speaking, they belong over on Stormfront.

No matter how you slice it, if calling for the opening of concentration camps and the Final Solution to the Yugoslav Question doesn't merit an instant permanent ban, then we're in trouble.

Gross.

What even is trolling?? People with avatars showing symbols like stars, hammers, sickles, or Putin's face—that's all trolling because it's designed to provoke patriotic and right-leaning forum members. Finally, VE clearly condemned communist ideology in its declaration. So, when I have to read posts from certain female users like Alexis where someone is acting like some partisan, she's trolling because she's getting a rise out of the rest of us. It's the exact same thing when a user like broz posts with an avatar from the old Yugoslavia.☕

Unacceptable moderation on the Palestine thread - Bubimir in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, nothing new on the PZK boards. When people run out of actual arguments, they just resort to attacking the moderators, who honestly do a fantastic job keeping things running.
I’ve got nothing but respect and support for PL and rowdytiger13. Without them, this whole discussion about Israel and Palestine would just turn into a total fan club for Hamas terrorists.
No one here is being accused of any war crimes. Israel is a sovereign nation with every right to defend itself, and Mr. Netanyahu is the head of the Israeli government. The US is part of NATO and follows the lead of our close allies.
Because of that, both the US and other EU members recognize Israel's right to self-defense. Besides, Hamas is a terrorist organization. For Israelis, Zionism is what the Republican Party was back in the early 90s.
Denying the very existence of a sovereign state like Israel is a violation of international law—and that’s punishable too.
A few users, specifically Rioboss and Nancy Wood6, seem hell-bent on using force to push certain moderators out just so they can run wild and bring total anarchy to the forum.
First they got Roko. Now it’s rowdytiger13’s turn, then probably PL.
How much further is this going to go???

Jerry Robinson56 said:Maybe take another look at this or get a second opinion, because I’m pretty sure you’re way off base here. What’s happening in Ukraine has absolutely zero connection to any "American scenario," and the moderators allow for different perspectives without being exclusionary. Just think about why you find it so hard to accept someone else's point of view. I won't list all my arguments here since there's a specific thread for that, so maybe you should go check it out.

Just a quick thought on the Office of the President—the "Chocolate King." It reminds me a lot of the "Flower King."

And both of them answer to their own bosses.

The President of Ukraine was legally elected. The Ukrainian people made their choice. As far as I'm concerned, he could be the King of Potatoes for all I care. ☕
Who was actually pulling the strings behind Viktor Yanukovych?? The guy doesn't even speak Ukrainian.

It's funny how Ringo 10 can troll all they want, bring up Vukovar in a thread about Ukraine, or compare the British SAS to paramilitaries, yet when anyone else does it, mayacar gets an automatic Ban and a 250-point penalty. Talk about double standards.

Here is a post from Ringo 10:

They don't even bother saying it was a bunch of drunken paramilitaries; to them, those were just regular military units. (Which didn't even exist back then!) They're totally downplaying the crimes in Vukovar and the victims there.

I’m honestly wondering how much longer we’re going to keep twisting international law and ignoring Ukraine's territorial integrity on this thread. People who support Russia try to justify everything by pointing to those sham referendums in Crimea and Donetsk. Meanwhile, any forum members who try to point out that we saw similar patterns during the war in America end up getting banned.
Looking at the last page of this thread, people are just making jokes at the expense of Ukraine's legally elected president. It feels like there isn't a single objective person left here—everyone is either banned or has just given up entirely. When moderation works this way—forbidding us from drawing parallels to what happened in America or stopping anyone from calling Russian separatists what they actually are—terrorists—there's really no point in posting here anymore. I’m asking the admins to either close this thread or stop the trolling (specifically the mocking of the Ukrainian president) and let those of us with different perspectives actually participate.

What’s going on here? First you drove Rock away, and now it's rowdytiger13's turn.
It seems like anyone who tries to moderate this place objectively just doesn't fit your vibe. Honestly, if it weren't for rowdytiger13, this whole thread would have turned into a nonstop fan club for Hezbollah a long time ago.
You've basically chased off most of the regular users on certain threads (like the one about Ukraine), leaving you guys to just run wild in there.

This topic is hitting pretty close to home right now. It honestly feels like the moderators are just tagging every single American discussion—especially anything that doesn't go along with the current administration—as "close politician."🙄
Ukraine in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, you guys are getting old with all this constant whining and tattling.
The moderator just tossed me 10 points, so I’m gonna hurry up and start a new thread (yeah, another one about Ukraine). That zlocest moderator gave me 35 points just for trolling—man, they must really hate me. I'm heading over to open another topic right now and I'll be filing a formal complaint with the admins.
Let's be real: your only talent is trolling. It’s your whole deal on this board, and then the second you get hit with a penalty, you act like everyone else is the problem.
If we're being totally honest, this whole thread is a circus, and you're definitely the main clown.
We're talking about Ukraine, which is a recognized sovereign nation, yet here you are calling for the destruction of legitimate institutions and backing a terrorist gang that makes life impossible for people living in Ukraine.
That isn't just trolling; honestly, I think the Department of Justice should probably take a look at you and a few other users and what you're posting here.

A moderator's job is to be fair and consistent; just because one side is currently shouting louder than the other doesn't mean the moderator needs to step in and protect them.

It’s not that we don't want to talk, it's just that under the conditions the mods set on the first page, we have zero interest in participating here. We aren't going to sit by while three specific users just run wild in there.

Charles Fox10 said:Excuse me?? Did we actually restrict something??

It's right there in the intro post, and honestly, it could probably be added to every single thread with just a few tiny tweaks.

It’s not just about restrictions; we’ve basically introduced total censorship.

Are you actually serious right now?????????????????

Exactly. You all wrote so nicely about how we shouldn't joke about casualties, but then some division writes about "successfully capturing" soldiers who were executed, and nobody says a word.
On top of that, you're out here defending the idea that kidnapping international observers is anything other than terrorism.

hiddenrider66 said:for the moderator.

Here’s another interesting one for you.

Some people get away with calling things a "junta," labeling the "National Guard criminals," or talking about "grounded pilots," yet others get shut down just for using the word "pro-Russian."

The real issue is that posts like that just flood this thread constantly. Maybe that's actually the goal for some people.

Looking at a bit of recent history here:

How are we supposed to have a sane debate under these conditions?

And it isn't just that—it's actually breaking the rules. People are openly calling for the destruction of the internationally recognized state of Ukraine and denying its very existence.
On top of that, we're stuck with restrictions imposed by the moderation in the opening post that basically stop us from calling things what they actually are if we want to participate properly.
It looks to me like those rules don't apply to certain pro-Russian users who twist every argument. They can say whatever they want, while we're left with nothing. Honestly, don't be surprised when most people refuse to join the conversation under these circumstances, leaving you with just three users running wild in there.

On a thread like this, a moderator's job is actually pretty tricky,

since they're stuck somewhere between censorship and the duty to report.

If posts directly violate US laws,

they should be reported to the proper authorities.

I'm pretty sure the forum rules clearly state you can't break US laws. If someone is actually breaking the law, just report them to the right agencies—this has gone way too far.
