So, I finally sat down and watched it last night.... The movie is absolutely insane!!!
That’s just how Quentin Tarantino does it... He’s definitely matured a bit—it doesn't have that raw, unrefined edge it used to—but honestly, I loved this. Every single scene felt brilliant... There are so many perfectly composed, meticulously crafted shots...
The atmosphere is constant, and the soundtrack? Man, 👍 👍 👍
I’ve never been much of an action movie guy... To be honest, this is the first one I’ve actually sat through in probably five or six years—not counting those mindless TV movies—but I have to say, I actually enjoyed it.
It leans a bit too hard on predictable tropes and stereotypes, but even so, it's a solid watch!
I finally sat down and watched... it wasn't bad... I’m usually not much for high-octane action flicks, but I couldn't pass up a Samuel L. Jackson movie. Plus, I just caught Colin Farrell playing a similar role while hanging out with my buddy at Buffalo Wild Wings...
Look, I enjoy these kinds of movies for pure entertainment... Actually, I needed one of these yesterday! Just some mindless "turn your brain off and watch things blow up" fun...
Most of the plot felt pretty predictable, but honestly, the cast was solid and everything worked well enough...
My rating --> 6/10 Definitely worth a watch if you're looking to kill some time...
Nirvana was my first real love affair. I still get goosebumps watching that Unplugged set, and honestly, some tracks still hit me hard enough to get me fired up...
It all started when I was watching Crimson Rivers, but in French. It hit me that I’d seen it in English before, and then it clicked—they actually filmed two different versions of the movie... one in French and one in English...
When I mentioned this to a buddy of mine, he basically called me an idiot. He insisted that when movies are shot, actors just mouth the words and then they record all the audio later in a studio!
I told him that's first, totally nonsensical, second, insanely expensive, and third, just plain stupid...
He’s 100% convinced that for every single movie, they just capture the visuals and then handle the dialogue in post-production...
I pointed out that sure, that’s how animated movies work, but doing that in live-action is so ridiculous it’s almost painful...
Anyway, we got back to my place, I turned on the TV, found some random movie, and cranked the volume. There was this close-up of a guy in a coffee shop telling a story, and you could literally hear the wet smacking sounds of him chewing while he talked... I told my friend there is absolutely NO way you can recreate that kind of detail in a studio... you just can't sync stuff that perfectly later on...
Then I asked him, if that were true, what on earth are all those boom mics and lavaliers scattered all over the set for?
After all that, he just doubled down. He said he still thinks he's right and doesn't want to argue, so he suggested we ask someone who actually knows about film and go from there...
I reached out to an old acquaintance of mine who works in the industry, and he laughed. He said believing that is like saying actors show up to the set naked and they just digitally add their clothes in later...
I am honestly ready to bet a serious amount of money on this because I know I'm right... but I haven't slept for two days because I can't believe he's missing something so obvious. He's a good friend, but man...
Please, either talk sense into me or explain it to him...
Honestly, we might want to rename this thread to "My Absolute Favorite Short Songs," because there’s a massive pile of tracks under five minutes in here already.
swiftmaker20 said:So you're actually listening to Noafex?! :2up: :2up: You're way too young to get Noafex. Your parents probably buy you a new pair of Vans every month, so you think that makes you punk. You absolute anarchist trash. Go ahead and trash the music if you want, but leave Tolkien and Black metal out of it! That's basically a religion!
P.S. All those tired clichés about heroes and dragons? Total heavy metal poser move!:2up: :2up:
🙂 🙂
