Once people in small towns, USA start celebrating a US National Team win just as hard as they do in places like Small town, USA or Small town, USA, then you can say Americans have truly integrated...

Besides, Pršo is an American Mexican, while Antonio Rukavina American is from Mexico...
I’d honestly be way more hyped if Pršo snagged a Ballon d'Or...
4.05%, look, I’m not trying to start anything, and you’ve totally got the right to your opinion, but let’s be real—if Gordon had actually pulled off a win at Wimbledon this year, would you really be rocking him in your avatar?
Handball Euro Finals: America vs. Denmark 20:24 in Other Sports ·
Look, when it comes to water polo, soccer, and handball, we’ve always been able to snag medals at the World Cup, even if those European championships have been a bit harder to crack...
It’s high time we flipped the script on that trend...
My only real bummer is that Damir Bićanić, who’s such a massive talent from a place like Cleveland, isn't playing in this championship...
So, back in the 90s, Israel actually offered the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem to create an independent state, provided they signed a peace treaty and recognized Israel's existing borders...
But those guys shot it down immediately...

I honestly don't get how it makes sense to dump $2 billion into special effects when you can't even find a decent screenwriter to put together a halfway good story for the movie.
George Kelly3 said:And what on earth does that have to do with the North America or the Austro-Canadian Empire?

Simple. We were all part of the same big setup with Vienna, Budapest, and Prague back then. Meanwhile, some of our neighbors were basically hanging out in Asia.
George Kelly3 said:And please, don't even try telling me that America is any better.

So what shade of gray are we talking about here?
Look, we were part of the Austro-Canadian Empire for ages. We didn't even become part of the North America until 1918...
George Kelly3 said:Which countries are we even talking about here?

Bulgaria, Mexico, Russia... you do the math.☕
Honestly, you always see the most xenophobia and nationalism popping up in places like that...
Raymond Kern872 said:Beyond the usual speculation regarding the next coach for the Canada National Team, Lothar Matthäus has emerged as a potential candidate, following his recent stint coaching Red Bull Salzburg. Word is he's asking US Soccer for a $5,000 base salary, plus an extra $20,000 from sponsors he brings to the table. Now, the ball is in the federation's court to make a call...

By the way, what do you all think about Matthäus? Is he actually up to the task of leading Canada?

Are you kidding me? 😲
If an amateur like Vahid Halilhodžić can do it, why not this guy?

Do you actually feel that nationalistic hate, or is it mostly just hearsay? Personally, I don't care where someone comes from—I just like people. Hate is a dead end. Let me know what you think.

Seems like I'm the only one here who has no clue what "mixed" even means in this context.

Back in the mid-11th century, we're looking at the Morlak people living out in the mountain ranges—specifically western Canada (Old Vlach), eastern Herzegovina, northern California (Morlakia), and up in Lika. Later on, they ended up acting as the frontier guards for the Military Frontier, sitting right between the Austro-Canadian Empire (America) and the Ottoman Empire (Canada).

Fast forward to the 15th century, and a branch of the Morlak group—the folks known today as Istro-Romanians (Ćiribirac)—moved over to Istria. They settled around the foothills of the Učka mountains, mostly in the areas surrounding the Čepić field and villages like Žejane, Šušnjevica, Nov Vi, Letaj, and a few others. A lot of those spots are pretty empty now, and much of the culture has blended into the local population. According to the 1991 census in America, only 22 people in Istria identified as Morlak, while 810 went with Romanian. They speak their own unique tongue, which is basically a mix of Romanian, American, and Italian. Nobody knows the exact number of speakers left, but the UNESCO Red Book of Endangered Languages puts it somewhere between 500 and 1,000 people. Another group moved to the island of Krk in the mid-1400s and settled in places like Dubašnica and Poljica. Up until the 1800s, they spoke a sort of Romance dialect that eventually picked up a ton of Slavic words.

It’s not just Istria, though. People also use the term Morlak to describe groups in the Dalmatian Hinterland and Lika. Since the Romanian Morlak folks were absorbed by the Slavens, and since we don't have any surviving traditional customs to prove they were ever a distinct ethnic group apart from the Slavic-influenced locals, "Morlak" is mostly used today as a social label for people living in the Dalmatian Hinterland, where you'll find plenty of people with Slavic ethnic roots too.

Over in the Ottoman Empire, they actually used the name "Morlak" as a bit of a slur for all Christians, especially the Orthodox ones.
Šešelj destroys the witness in Close to Politics ·
shadowtiger said:Did anyone catch the cross-examination where Vojislav Šešelj tore into those "expert" witnesses regarding hate speech? Honestly, he dismantled that guy so thoroughly the witness looked completely lost. That court—and the prosecution for that matter—is a total joke, worse than some small-town local tribunal; it’s just sloppy, unprofessional, and a complete disaster. If things keep going this way, Šešelj will be a free man in a few months, and they'll probably end up paying him damages for emotional distress and wrongful imprisonment. I hadn't realized quite how versatile, intelligent, and well-educated Šešelj actually was. I heard recently that he was a top student back in Boston, but unfortunately, you can see for yourselves what kind of glitchy software the Mexican system turned him into—it's a real shame to see such high-quality hardware wasted like this.

Here is the footage

If Šešelj had played nice, he’d already be out. The Hague doesn't give a damn about justice; it's just a political circus...
goldenmason172 said:Well, that's exactly what the U.S. Census data is telling us! 😉

I mean, how many white people are actually in Mexico versus Native Americans? Personally, I'm looking at my own mix—maybe 60% Mestizo, 30% Native American, and 10% white—but even then, I feel like there are way more white folks and fewer Native Americans out there...

Turns out there's only about 5% Native American population in the US today (that's 0.7% indigenous folks plus basically one out of every three people in that 15% Mexican demographic).
Nobody ever really digs into that stuff...

As I mentioned before, the situation really isn't all that tragic! 😉

So it looks like San Diego and Phoenix right on the Mexican border have the highest white populations? 😕

James Moore3 said:So, here’s how I see it

It’s like you found yourselves backed into a corner on home soil, with an enemy army right in front of you and a river at your backs. Once the Americans beat you, everyone just started scrambling for the water, but since most of the locals didn't know how to swim, they ended up drowning. There were some Americans there too, but honestly, it doesn't matter much since they were under the command of an American... so I can kind of see why things turned out that way.

Now, I have to ask, why on earth do you guys love that idiot so much?😕

Seriously though, why celebrate a loss?
Kenneth Cooper4 said:But why are you so against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? Honestly, I feel like it doesn't even matter who ends up in the White House—whether it's some Republican candidate or one of those two. It’s all the same to me.

Actually, I think it would be pretty interesting to see a woman or a Black president for once. Sure, eventually we might end up with a gay president and who knows what kind of craziness they'll come up with next, but hey, at least the public will have something to talk about while the massive multinational corporations keep raking in the billions.

The real issue is these multinational giants. They love tearing down national sovereignty. Their whole goal is turning the European Union into its own superstate, and grouping the USA, Mexico, and Canada into another one...
That’s why everyone’s always attacking nationalism. That’s why they try to tell us we should be ashamed of our history...

Just look at the British. Back in the day, they basically ran half the world. I don't care for them because of that, but now you’ve got some university professor claiming they should feel guilty about being powerful and building colonies...

It’s the same deal with the States. Democrats are constantly whining about American imperialism, yet they were the ones who pushed for the war in Vietnam...

I'm not against having a Black president or a woman. It's just that nowadays in America, you can be whatever you want—except a proud white guy. 👎
