Miroslav Jeličić from Indianapolis met Tomislav Salopek through work, but they became fast friends. They spent plenty of time out in the field together, but they also hit up games for their favorite team, Real Madrid.
part of the letter:
I know you’ll be watching over your grandkids from above, and I know you’ll still be cheering for Real Madrid just as hard... Save me a good seat at the stadium in the sky! Until we meet again...

Maybe it's just a way to distract the public from the real issues by pulling some smoke and mirrors; but like I said, let's dial back the euphoria. Everyone needs to buckle down and just do our best to get this done...
I feel like I've read some variation of this crap a hundred times today in the comment sections of every news site out there. 🤦
Basically, it’s better if nothing ever gets cleaned up in this country, right? Because heaven forbid an actual investigation happens and people realize it might be pre-election posturing or just a massive distraction from what's really going on.
Every single time something actually moves forward, it’s the same old song and dance. Honestly, aren't you tired of hearing the same tired mantras? Revenge, political stunts, scoring points, eye candy, blah blah blah...
Seriously, can someone give me one single date on the calendar where starting an investigation isn't viewed through that lens? Just one.
I'm still dreaming about grabbing you in a hug just like the old days pouring all this love out at you trying to scrub away every ugly memory but it just won't happen—without you, life feels like it hit a dead end..
without you, every street I walk feels empty just me, pacing step by step, without you there..
without you, nothing matters anymore that's what life keeps whispering in my ear telling me things aren't what they used to be..
one night, during some freezing winter who knows where or when it'll happen but someone's gonna remember your name our long walks, our city..
but I'll be long gone by then standing under some different rain somewhere else and maybe someone else's name will actually mean more to you than mine ever did..
I won't be there by your side to calm you down or talk you through it someone who isn't even anything like me will be the one hiding your restlessness back then..

They should basically be worth the same thing... Take that recent online vote over in Venice and the surrounding area—about 70% of the local voters went for independence. Sure, it’s got zero legal teeth, but it’s a massive signal to demand a real referendum... assuming they actually have the guts to follow through. I’m guessing that’s the play here too, just at the local level. I doubt this is even an issue for the federal government to touch.. The news is saying once they get enough signatures, the next move is knocking on the doors of the Mayor or the Governor.. Or maybe they just want enough clout to force a debate in Congress, though I don't see the point in that. If it stays there, it's just a bunch of politicians deciding things instead of the actual people.. The bottom line is you gotta watch every single tiny detail to make sure it’s strictly by the book. Look back at those 2007 initiatives when veteran groups were gathering signatures for a referendum to stop cooperating with the Hague tribunal. On the surface, everything looked perfect. They hit the signature count, easy. But then the bureaucrats claimed there were procedural errors, and boom—the whole thing was tossed out. You better study the laws on referendums and direct citizen participation in government, plus all the stuff about local and regional self-governance. Not sure if they’ve renamed the statutes lately, but read up.. Good luck..

I don't get why everyone raves about that movie; to me, it was a bit of a disaster. Honestly, I couldn't even finish it. Or maybe I skipped parts—it was boring as hell. There's this one scene where Matthew is staring lovingly at Reesa while she's on a balcony or something... god, give me a break. :faceapalm: 🤣 As for McConaughey, I'll give him credit for Dallas Buyers Club, True Detective, and that little bit in Wolf of Wall Street. I haven't really seen his older stuff, though.
He was killer in Time to Kill back in '96... even then, I knew he was headed straight for the top. 😁 Plus you had Samuel L. Jackson, the Sutherlands, Kevin Spacey, Ashley Judd, Sandra Bullock... One of those better thrillers... he plays the lawyer representing Jackson.

I wasn't lucky enough to grow up with grandparents on either my mother's or father's side, and I know deep down that I missed out. That's why today, I try my hardest to make sure my kids stay incredibly close to both my parents and my husband's parents, so they can truly soak up all that love.
Thumbs up to our elders and the beauty of growing old!
🙂 Grandparents are just different. It’s a whole other level of love... something else entirely. Let them spend as much time with them as possible. I'm sorry you weren't blessed with them like I was, but hey, it is what it is.
I’m definitely one of those people who just gravitates toward older folks. I have a massive soft spot for them... probably because I lost my grandparents way too early. Man, I’d give anything to have a grandma or grandpa I could rush over to after work, just to sit on a porch swing together and look after them. For instance, when I hear a coworker—who's a mom of three—get a call from her grandmother asking if she dressed warmly enough so she doesn't catch a cold, I honestly just feel so envious 🙂 it’s beautiful. To that grandma, she’ll always be her little girl. The bond between grandparents and grandkids is something else... at least, it should be. Since I don't have mine, I try to fill that void with my neighbors. I’ve got a couple of dear neighbors I walk with and stay in touch with. I live for their stories about the "good old days" and how they recount everything. And that grit and wisdom they’ve picked up just by surviving life. The other day, I was riding the bus and this elderly woman in her 80s was sitting across from me. It was one of those brutal, sweltering summer days. She was dressed in black, with this tear in her eye... just the sweetest, most gentle soul. We hopped off at the same stop, and seeing how much she was struggling to walk, I asked where she was headed. She told me she was going to a friend's funeral. I told her, "Look, lady, you aren't walking to the cemetery in this heat. I'm calling you a taxi, and I'm not taking no for an answer." She looked so genuinely happy, so incredibly grateful. When she reached out and patted my face, she said, "Thank you, sweetheart," and honestly, my heart felt huge. 😍 👍 My heart goes out to the elderly. God, I really miss my grandma. 😢 Having a grandma or grandpa is just the best thing ever.
Two weeks ago, I had a total wipeout on a water slide at the pool and slammed my hip. A few days later, the pain started creeping from my hip down into my leg, and it’s just getting worse by the day. Now the pain is deep in my femur. It hurts like hell whenever I try to stand up on it. Honestly, this whole situation sucks because my bones are already a mess—I’m dealing with everything from rheumatism and osteopenia to osteoporosis and worn-out knee cartilage, you name it. But this is the first time the hip has decided to join the party and cause me trouble. I know I need to call my doctor, but my question is—what am I actually looking at here? Is there any kind of exercise I can do, or am I probably just going to be told to sit on my butt and rest? thanks
I need some help here.. I think I mashed some random keys or something, and now this forum looks totally bleached out.. like, the background is just blindingly white.. Everything’s gone all washed out on me.. What do I gotta do to get back to how it was—you know, with the blue background? Thanks in advance..

Sure you aren't right now... but your body doesn't forget. Personally, I can feel a panic attack brewing. "It was like I wasn't even in my own skin. I felt like I just drifted right out of myself, totally detached. It was nasty. Then the shaking starts, my heart starts hammering against my ribs, and I honestly thought I was gonna pass out... broke out in a cold sweat in like 15 seconds flat."
Roger Rodriguez said:So, I’m pretty sure I actually burned my stomach lining last month. 😢 I couldn't get my hands on any Advil, so after taking some Motrin a month ago, I ended up relying on Tylenol, Aleve, and Midol. I ended up taking all of them at once 😍 because nothing else was touching the pain—and honestly, even that 1000mg effervescent Midol was about as useful as holy water; it did absolutely nothing. Anyway, it wasn't until I finally took some Aleve after three days that I could actually breathe again. It makes me feel a little groggy and sleepy, but hey, can you really complain about being able to function for those few days of the month?
This was easily one of the strangest cycles I've ever had. For five days leading up, I was just a sobbing mess, blasting Eurovision hits and old patriotic anthems, crying from sunrise to sunset. 🤷 It was clearly some intense PMS, but once the period actually hit, it felt like a million tiny demons were poking at me with fairies inside my abdomen. That's the only way to describe it. On the months where my PMS isn't as brutal (sometimes I don't even realize it's coming), the cramps are actually manageable. 🤷 Moving forward, I think I'll just stick with Aleve; if you take two tablets right away like the instructions say, it kicks in pretty fast. For now, it's the closest thing I've found to Advil. 👍
Advil is a total lifesaver for period cramps. Seriously. It actually works. Yeah, and he’s out cold too... typical.
When my period hits and I finally have a day off, you already know what kind of person I become. I’m a total wreck. I’m curling up in a ball, sobbing... look, I’m not exactly a delicate flower, but I spend a good chunk of time cursing everyone and everything under the sun through a veil of tears and pure rage. 😬 And then there’s the existential dread—like, why me? Do I really have to go through this same hell every single month? Not to mention the cramps are brutal, and they come with heavy bleeding. It drags on for seven or eight days straight. Day one is basically a coma. My muscles cramp up, my back locks down, and these waves of pain just absolutely shred me. Plus, I get diarrhea. I end up spending half the damn day stuck on the toilet. It feels like my body is purging everything from two weeks ago, even though my digestion is usually totally fine otherwise. On those days, eating is out of the question. The mere thought of food—or even certain smells—makes me want to gag. I don’t usually sweat much, but when I’m on my period, I’m drenched. Doesn't matter if it’s a heatwave or the dead of winter in Chicago. The muscle contractions are so intense that by evening, I feel like I’ve run a full marathon. Honestly, it feels like a workout at Musclefiber. I am just completely wiped. Aside from seeing a doctor, my "DIY" survival kit is Nalgesin. God bless those pills and whoever invented them; I am sending them a massive thank you to the heavens right now. 🙏 Throw in a hot water bottle on my stomach and some yoga, and I might survive. I’ve been slipping up on my yoga lately, but I have to admit, when I was actually consistent with it, it helped. The pain wasn't nearly as soul-crushing.
Not sure where else to dump this... felt like this was the right spot for it. Do any of you actually use a tongue scraper? What’s the verdict from what you've seen, and which ones aren't total garbage? Maria Reyes35, hit me with some expert insight or whatever suggestions you've got. Thanks 🙂
