Why isn't my search engine working? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
She’s been taken off the platform due to some technical glitches on their end. Honestly, we aren't even sure if she'll ever be back online. It's a bummer, but we just don't have any more info than that right now. If you want to dig into it, here's the thread , though don't expect much—it doesn't really offer any more detail than what I've already told you, no matter how many posts you scroll through.
Misinterpreting the forum rules in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Brandon Ross said:So you're saying you won't tolerate any lying or making things up on this thread?
Well, where exactly have I lied or made anything up?

Just look at your own posts:

Brandon Ross said:About a month ago, some female user kicked me off the serious discussion threads—you know, stuff like child support, domestic violence, divorces, etc.—just because she used her group of friends, both online and in real life, to influence the moderator to give me a permanent ban from those topics.

It wasn't some friend of hers pulling the strings. The moderation team collectively decided to pull you from the site because you were spreading misogyny, being intolerant, constantly picking fights with other users, and just being a total provocateur.

Brandon Ross said:And I was never crude, I never cursed, and I definitely didn't troll, even though the moderators—who clearly lean toward feminism—unjustly labeled me that way based on their "friends'" intervention.

Actually, you were insulting people, trolling, provoking, and spamming; you were basically a walking violation of the forum rules. And honestly, the way you throw around "feminism" like it's an insult is just bizarre—it doesn't make any sense at all.

Brandon Ross said:She did that because she didn't like my comments regarding her announcement about her own divorce... she uses this forum as a primary way to communicate with her family, husband, and kids.
She already kicked her husband off the boards in the exact same way, because when it comes to the "moderator-friendship" pact, truth and reality don't mean a thing.

I honestly don't know who "she" is, I don't care who her husband is, and frankly, I couldn't care less.

I really intended to go through both of your posts line by line to debunk every single lie, but after the third sentence, I realized that doing so would be a massive waste of my time. Almost everything you've said here is pure fiction. I say "almost" only because I think I found maybe one quarter of a sentence that could theoretically be interpreted as true if you squinted and provided the right context, but that's about it. So, I'm done with this whole saga about your biases and your typical drama-filled stories.
Relationship drama: post counts and bans in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, I’m still completely lost on who this "friend" is supposed to be, whose husband we're talking about, or even who the husband is in all of this... and frankly, I couldn't care less about this kind of baseless rambling. The PDF, along with its dedicated sub-forum for unraveling family issues, has been open to anyone who wants to talk through domestic struggles from any perspective for a long time now. Since I stepped in as a moderator back in January 2011, we haven't had a single moderator who believed that men or fathers are somehow less valuable, or that they should face discrimination just because of their gender, or that they're inherently worse parents simply because they aren't mothers. And if you're asking me, we aren't going to have a moderator like that either. We have always believed—and continue to believe—that the child's best interests must come first, and that both parents should have the opportunity to be present and provide quality parenting if they are willing and able. Not once has a moderator here belittled one gender over another, treated anyone as inferior, or spread intolerance of any kind. We fully intend to uphold that tradition, and we expect our forum members to do the same. Unfortunately, it seems you weren't able to meet that standard, or maybe you just didn't want to. We don't really care about the "why"—what matters to us is ensuring we don't leave you space to spread that kind of negativity moving forward. And as for the lies and fabrications? I have no intention of giving those any airtime here, either.

Look, it’s not about some random "friend" of yours—I have zero clue who you’re even talking about here. This isn't about her; it is strictly about your combative, vindictive, and downright misogynistic attitude that we've had to put up with for years. We have warned you more times than I can count, and yet here we are again. You are absolutely not the reason why Zuck is active right now; if anything, you're just stirring the pot and inciting pointless arguments with those chauvinistic comments, and frankly, we’ve had enough of that nonsense. As for those posts filled with nothing but bitterness and hatred toward women, you’ll need to find somewhere else to post them, because we simply aren't going to tolerate that kind of behavior on this forum anymore.
Hidden threads? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, I don't think anyone was actually deleting or removing anything from Temu; it was probably just some weird temporary glitch or maybe you just missed it when it happened. But from what I can see, everything looks like it's back to normal now.
Living together discussion thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nope. We have been down this road a hundred times already, and the answer is still no—we aren't reopening the chats on Living Together. Believe me, we’ve had tons of them in the past; every single generation of mods has tried to take on that little adventure, thinking they could somehow keep things civil and manageable. But it just never works. Every single time, without fail, those chats spiral into absolute chaos of epic proportions. It’s just not happening. Honestly, feel free to try again once I’m no longer an admin or a (super)mod on Living Together, but for the time being, there won't be any chats over there.
Alternative treatments (vaccinations) - moderators in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, I’m going to ask you a huge favor: please, just try to actually read through the community guidelines PDF before you start posting. It’ll save us all a lot of headache! To kick things off, we don't allow anyone to open a formal complaint here if they aren't bringing actual evidence to the table to back up their accusations. On top of that, you went ahead and threw in some accusations of totalitarianism, which is honestly just a nasty thing to toss around like that. We aren't going to play that game here.

neonfox12 said:Can I get a partial? Thanks.

Alright, look. The rules apply just the same whether you're getting a partial through a moderator's call or any other way—for instance, there's absolutely no chatting with clones allowed here.
Why do some people get special treatment? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, the Off-topic section is just way too chaotic and fast-paced for us to have enough moderators on hand to constantly monitor everything in real-time. For the most part, we’re moderating based on user reports, so you guys really have two choices: either try to keep the discussions a bit more civil and manageable, or we’re going to be forced to crack down with stricter penalties, including partial bans. We aren't expecting the Off-topic area to be strictly constructive—it exists because we recognize that people want a place for casual chatting. We totally get that, and we respect how much having a space to unwind can mean to everyone, but this isn't going to be a free-for-all where people can repeatedly break the rules that we enforce everywhere else on the site.
Sysadmin Help Needed in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Jack Davis26 said:I really wish we could find a solid admin for this military history and tech sub to actually step in and clean things up.
Lately, instead of actual expert discussions backed by facts, everything has just devolved into people attacking each other personally and being straight-up condescending.
It’s turning these threads into total garbage. Honestly, just kick those arrogant jerks out—they can argue in private messages instead of trashing the main board!

Believe me, we’re working hard to track someone down, but honestly, we haven't had much luck yet—at least not as of right now. Stryder and The Scotsman are helping out by keeping an eye on things and checking through applications, but what we really need is someone with deep expertise who is genuinely willing to dedicate themselves to the Tank section, because that community deserves way better than what they're getting. I know things feel pretty chaotic at the moment, but we have every intention of fixing this once we find the right people to step up. Finding that perfect fit is just proving to be the hardest part of the whole process. :/
Moderator comment and thread locked in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, I already explained why your specific post was the one being quoted—it’s simply because it was the very last one in the thread. And honestly, we've already established that once a certain volume of posts starts piling up, the mods are going to step in and lock things down. I totally get that the way the quoting went down felt a bit clumsy and awkward, but even if they hadn't quoted you, the moderators would have shut this thread down regardless. There really isn't much point in overanalyzing why someone picked one person to quote instead of another. At the end of the day, the thread got locked because the discussion turned inappropriate, and that’s really all there is to it.
FDA approval? Or mission impossible? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Technically speaking, we can't really let a user keep access to specific subforums if they’ve been hit with a partial ban at the root level. It just doesn't work that way. If she wants to be able to browse or jump into discussions in the Political landscape, European Union, World News, or Close politics sections, we’d have to lift that partial ban from the main Politics root first. You see, the subforums basically inherit everything from the main page—so once you block access to the root, that restriction automatically trickles down to all the sub-sections attached to it. On the flip side, though, it is totally possible to apply a partial ban to those specific subforums—like the Political landscape, European Union, World News, or Close politics—either to just one of them, a few, or even all of them, while still allowing her full access to the main root directory.
Harassment of The Instructor on the History PDF forum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The authorities will reach out to you once they've had a chance to look into what's actually going on, so there's really no need for these long-winded rants.
Racist remarks and hate speech in Feedback & Suggestions ·
unknown, you just snagged 700 points along with a month-long ban. And honestly? That’s only because I decided to show you a little bit of unearned mercy. Just keep in mind that next time, it’s a permanent ban.
My philosophy research thread got deleted after all that hard work in Feedback & Suggestions ·
hiddenpuma75 said:1) I’d like to point out that the administrator hasn't even bothered to respond to my appeal. All we got was a comment from a moderator, but if you actually read what I wrote, you'll see there wasn't even a mention of prayer in there at all.

2. Why is the administrator staying silent?

3) If you ask me, it's because they don't want to admit the moderator made a blatant mistake, so they're choosing to stay quiet... which is a pretty "wise" move on their part, I suppose.

4) I should also mention that this is now the third time a thread I've put a lot of effort into has been shut down by a moderator. It feels less like rule enforcement and more like personal bias against the author—essentially a classic case of the big bad wolf picking on the little lamb.

Honestly, it's probably because they actually agree with what the moderator decided, so there isn't much left to say, right?
Honestly, this whole post feels totally fake and manufactured.
Complaint: Something went wrong in Feedback & Suggestions ·
That option was actually taken off the table about a year and a half ago, and honestly, we're still sitting here in the dark wondering if they’ll ever bring it back.

Complaints about T-Mobile in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Daniel Gomez10 said:You started a thread that has nothing to do with PDFs.
A few weeks ago, you opened another one that didn't fit under recreation either, complaining about the local transit authority, and everyone explained why it didn't belong.
Normally, you would've been banned by now, but since I'm a pretty chill moderator, I'll just give you a friendly heads-up for next time.

Modic hit the nail on the head here: you've posted several threads in the PDF section that don't belong, and she could have easily handed you a formal strike, but she chose to just lock the thread instead. Personally, I think her call was totally fair.

ivanx, please try to be more careful moving forward—take a moment to actually read the rules for the specific subforum you're posting in and try to follow the flow of conversation so we can avoid these kinds of misunderstandings down the road.
Is there any way to stop this religious obsession? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It honestly feels like the Religion mods decided to take a spontaneous collective sabbatical all at once! I went ahead and installed Belkija (which is apparently just a temporary fix 😬) so he can get everything sorted out. So sorry for any headaches this caused!
