Confusion regarding points and penalties in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I went ahead and shaved some points off your score.

I went ahead and fixed that up. 🙂

You could always shoot a private message over to one of the Politics mods or even their head supermod to let them know exactly what you’d change if you were in charge. Or, honestly, feel free to just lay it all out right here if you want!

Since the OP hasn't actually put forward any real proof to back up these claims about what's supposedly going on around here on the forum, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread.

redbear2 said:So, what you're saying is there's no intention to reply if someone comes at you being rude or arrogant, even if they actually have a point and back it up with links?

Look, we aren't obligated to jump into every single conversation. If I have enough info to get the gist of things, I'll take a look, but that doesn't mean I’m going to dive into a debate—especially when people are just drifting off-topic.

Look, you really ought to provide an actual example here. It’s basically the whole point of our forum policy—we don't want people just dumping everything into one massive thread if these discussions can actually hold their own as high-quality, standalone topics. Plus, we shouldn't be locking threads unless there's a genuinely good reason to do so. If you think that rule isn't being followed somewhere, then please, just send me the link so I can take a look at what's going on.

Edit: And let's keep things respectful, okay? We have no intention of engaging with anyone on this platform who can't manage to post a couple of decent, polite messages.

Hey, please go ahead and drop the links to those threads that have been bugging you.

I’m pretty sure William Bennett53 laid out the whole reasoning behind this decision just yesterday. Look, I get it—this conversation is getting incredibly heated and emotional, which is why the moderators really need to keep a close eye on any personal attacks or rudeness to make sure we don't lose the quality of the discussion. Please, let's all try to stick to their guidelines and keep the debate within the established parameters and rules.

Look, if you put your post right where it was supposed to go, then there’s really nothing more to say about it. We're all good! Cheers.

Larry Baker72 said:If you’re acting as a moderator for a specific topic, you really ought to respect the theme of that discussion. Atheists don't show respect for religion, and that's exactly why they should be disqualified.

Hold on now, it’s just not true to say that atheists automatically lack respect for religion—let's not paint everyone with the same brush! Besides, according to the rules laid out in this PDF, making accusations without any actual proof isn't allowed. I'd love to see some links to the specific complaints being made here.

Dispute with a moderator in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I didn't say they weren't being deleted under any circumstances at all! Over here, you can find the full list of everyone on the admin team, and right here it breaks down exactly who is responsible for which PDF.
Dispute with a moderator in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, you could always reach out to the site mods or the admin, but just so you know, posts don't just get wiped away because someone asks—so it wouldn't really count as a formal grievance against a moderator. They might clear things out in some pretty rare, extreme circumstances, but honestly, nobody is under any obligation to delete your content just because you've decided you want it gone.

Nope, you can't.

All this bickering you guys are doing is honestly just a complete waste of breath.

Eric Booth67 said:I still say that if someone doesn't grasp even the most basic fundamentals of football, they really shouldn't be posting stuff like that.

Look, I know this is a total tangent and honestly has absolutely nothing to do with what you originally asked for, but I just had to say it!

Eric Booth67 said:Dorian, before you go ahead and lock this thread down, I’ve gotta ask—is this really how things usually work with the mods and admins around here? Like, is it normal for a banned user to start a new topic only to be met with twenty days of total silence from the staff? I mean, they haven't even given me a single reason why they won't let me onto the PDF. Honestly, if they actually had some valid arguments against me, I know they would've reached out without any hesitation. It’s just that I was being perfectly respectful during those PDF sessions and didn't cause a single issue, so it feels like they don't even have any real "material" to justify what they're doing. 😉)? So, let me get this straight—a user can get slapped with a ban, but then they can't even get a straight answer or a valid explanation as to why they're being blocked from posting on the forum again? Seriously? That just feels incredibly shady to me. 😁

Look, once you’ve been banned, the reason behind it has already been laid out for you. Nobody is under any obligation to come crawling back later just to explain why they aren't interested in lifting your ban. If someone does decide to reach out and give you an explanation, that’s purely a gesture of goodwill on their part—it’s definitely not a requirement. Especially when we're talking about someone who's been permanently banned from the forum; they don't have a right to demand a private, one-on-one breakdown from everyone regarding why they're being kept off the platform.

Maybe the reason you aren't getting any replies isn't because people are ignoring you, but because there’s simply nothing much to say—it's not like anyone has anything particularly sweet or comforting to offer, nor is there really anything to push back against. Have you ever considered that? Honestly, every single time you pop up on here, even the mods start questioning whether they actually want you back around. I mentioned this to you before, how your responses just sort of blend together, and look, ignoring someone can also be read as the moderators being totally fed up with your whole persona and just deciding they've had enough of dealing with you.

Eric Booth67 said:It feels like nobody else has stepped up to weigh in on the whole nuts-and-bolts situation with the football stuff and general recreation besides Tyson. To be totally honest, I find him pretty biased when it comes to me; we’ve had our fair share of debates over on the NFL forums in the past, and I can’t shake the feeling that he’s got a bit of a personal grudge against me. It actually bugs me quite a bit that he’s the only one who bothered to speak up on my behalf—if it were up to me, he’d be the very last moderator I’d ever want making a call on whether I get banned or not.

Look, Tyson is the moderator for that forum you're citing, and he’s one of those guys who actually took the time to reach out and tell you exactly what he thinks. You can have whatever opinion you want about him, but at the end of the day, he's the one calling the shots—and more importantly, he was the only one willing to engage with you directly. Instead of addressing his points, you just immediately pivot to claiming he "doesn't understand football," which honestly has zero bearing on your actual grievance. It feels like a total attempt to discredit him just because you two clashed back when you were arguing over the NFL. If my memory serves me right, you seemed to have a falling out with pretty much every single moderator on every forum you've tried to get back into. I'm starting to suspect the common denominator here might actually be you.

Eric Booth67 said:That’s really all I want to know—before you lock this thread, please just tell me if I’m actually the first person ever to file a ban appeal only to be completely ignored by the mods. It’s been 20 days and there hasn't been a single word from anyone. Is this just how communication works here between the staff and the users? Before I decide whether to walk away from this forum for good, I’d really value an answer from you.

Let me be crystal clear: you weren't "ignored" during the times you actually needed an answer, back when you were still an active member or dealing with a temporary suspension. Your penalties and bans were explained to you clearly enough. You don't get to claim you're being ignored now. Once you've earned a permanent ban and the reasons behind it have been laid out, you don't have any further right to demand explanations. Anything the mods choose to say or explain to you after that point is purely out of their own kindness.

You've asked to have your permanent ban lifted several times now. Every single time you've brought it up, I've gone out of my way to reach out to the moderators on our private channels to get their take on those documents you keep citing, even though I could have easily just shut this thread down and told you that your case was settled the very day the ban was handed down. Some mods mentioned they won't stop the process of keeping the ban in place; they said they'll just keep an eye on your behavior, noting they had already tried to find common ground with you before the ban happened. Most of them are firmly against lifting it because they simply don't want you back on their specific sub-forums. Others have decided they don't want to comment on your situation at all anymore. Not one person has come forward to say that you've been constructive or helpful enough to warrant a return, which is what you keep insisting. If the only way we could justify lifting the ban would be to guarantee you'll be partially banned from almost every sub-forum where you used to be active, then there's really no point in bringing a user like you back to the community.

Look, you guys really need to take this bickering somewhere else and off this forum.

Hey, Admin, if you spot any posts that actually break the rules, just go ahead and report them. All this stuff happening above where someone is just claiming another user is misbehaving without providing a single shred of proof? Honestly, it’s all just hearsay at this point.

Carl Fisher7 said:I’m officially putting it on the record that I’m not the one complaining here—not for the first time, either, considering how many times I've voiced informal grievances in various threads. In this specific instance, a female user actually messaged me directly and said...

I can't verify her claim personally, but honestly, I highly doubt she's making things up.

And here you go again, bringing up those "anonymous reports sent to your email" even after you've already tried to retract them halfway through the third page—despite being warned that's not how the rules work and that you need to stop doing it. Look, who emailed you or what other users have sent your way isn't our business, provided that nothing is violating the site's guidelines.

A little while back, one of your posts was reported where you threatened to—and I quote—"systematically and analytically dissect her at every possible opportunity in a way that won't trigger any moderator response," just because a certain person wasn't banned from commenting on you. We simply aren't allowed to, nor do we want to, dictate who gets to quote whom. Even beyond that, since you clearly stated an intention to provoke, you could have—and really should have—been banned for every single attempt to tank the quality of the discussion. Let me be clear: dissecting someone isn't against the rules in and of itself, but using it as a tool to deliberately derail a thread is. Your goal was to bypass the rules to force a confrontation, and we just aren't going to tolerate that.
